  1. Only enemy models take Wp->Wp duel when attacking Pandora, so Friendly models attacking her will not allow her the push.
  2. Spirits do not block LOS, so yes you can shoot right through him.
  3. I still think canines are better... With up to two move actions they move further than the vulture and can pick up and send any number of counters. It's nice they can send back a counter when needed, but the main reason to take them is the extended spell range for Nicodem.
  4. He can use counters he carries for anything other than Arise. Still, compared to the Canine Remains having a (0) to send all of their carried counters to their master the Vulture ability leaves much to be desired.
  5. I'm in the "no you can't" group unless a rules marshal decided to step in and say otherwise. I don't give you good odds on that happening.
  6. "Models with no Soulstone cost who enter play by replacing another model(s) are worth the Soulstone cost of the model(s) they replaced." For example, Coryphee Duet have no soulstone cost but come into play by sacrificing two Coryphee; so the Coryphee Duet is worth 14 VPs. Mindless zombies (as yet) are never brought into play by replacing other models; they are summoned from counters (Nicodem) or placed instead of counters (Avatar of Decay), so they do not give any VPs.
  7. IMO, mindless zombies friendly to avatar Nicodem count as his crew for all strategy/scheme purposes. It's a permanent effect, his aura is always on, does not require an action or expire at the end closing etc. Two canine remains within 3"of each other lose insignificant and can claim/hold objectives too, its the same situation.
  8. It's not optional to flip the extra cards, the rule simply says flip one additional fate card per (pg 25 rules manual).
  9. The model is technically already Killed when it takes its Slow to Die action, with the exception that if a model with StD manages to Heal 1 or more wounds it is no longer Killed and remains in play. So in this case I think further damage would not change the fact that Sonnia made the killing blow (and gets a witchling). Now, Sacrifice on the other hand is questionable. I could see that one going either way.
  10. You are copying his Abilities/Spells/etc, not effects he currently has on him. So you could gain his Passage of Time ability, as if it were written on the Doppleganger's card just as it is on the Hooded Rider's card, but the Ability does not allow you to gain any of those effects except at the start of the game. Same with the spell; it won't give you a new effect if you don't already have one. ---------- Post added at 10:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:14 PM ---------- As another example, say Teddy had cast Thing of Nightmares that turn to gain Flight. Doppleganger can Mimic Thing of Nightmares, but does not gain Flight just because Teddy has it. Doppleganger can then cast Thing of Nightmares (since it gets two 0's), and could choose any of the three options it liked.
  11. IIRC he can't, as the rider picks Passage of Time: Morning/Noon/Night at the start of the game and the Chase the Sun spell modifies what he already has. Since the Doppleganger doesn't get a power at the start of the game casting the Chase the Sun spell doesn't actually give him any powers (since he doesn't have one to begin with).
  12. I'm still not sold on Heed my Wishes. MZs are still terrible, and the auto-trigger is mostly pointless as (a) you have to kill something and ( the enemy would turn into a MZ anyway within 6" of aNicodem. I'd almost always rather Rigor Mortis the beefiest opponent nearby, or throw out a decay if the enemy is bunched up.
  13. You only get two punk zombies summoned per casting of enhance the dead, unless you flip/cheat a crow and use soulstone and flip a third crow (to summon three)... Unless I missed something?
  14. I think he's pretty safe for turns 1-2 in most cases, to collect body parts as much as possible and then summon the zombie horde. After he drops the initial batch he becomes less of a target. Like you said, he can no longer gain free body parts from Nicodem after he manifests, so more than likely he'll scoop up the odd corpse counter he is able, use fast where possible, put up his Hard to Kill bubble, etc. Will he get picked on? Yeah. But if he can put 5+ mindless zombies on the table the turn Nicodem manifests (ie in addition to having the same ss size force you started with or more likley even higher) then he's paid for himself. I'm not seeing how Mortimer and Molly can reliably put out 3-5 corpse counters? Mortimer casting Exhume is dodgy at best, and may require a 7+ from your hand (not always plentiful) and quite possibly a crow to boot (also quite likely a limited resource). Expecting to get it to go off 5 times between the two of them and her totem is asking a lot. Or am I totally missing something they can do? Entirely possible....
  15. I've played avatar of decay a few times now and in practice his (0) to summon random numbers of mindless zombies is not that great. If anything less than three get summoned it's a wasted action. Nicodem needs a pile of zombies nearby and it's not cost effective to kill your own models to get them. So really I think Rafkin is a necessity with avatar Nicodem. Rafkin kills 3+ dogs with poison, while taking two poison counters for himself and healing the point of damage; Nicodem casts arise, completing one manifest requirement and giving Rafkin 3+ body parts; Nicodem casts reanimator multiple times or summons a big beastie (ie Rogue Necromancy) regaining valuable minions and giving more body parts to Rafkin. I don't see Nicodem as being in a hurry to manifest, so turn two could see more casting from Nicodem and potentially more body parts to Rafkin. On the turn he manifests, Rafkin summons a zombie horde and then Nicodem manifests and brings in the first two punk zombies.
  16. As I expected. Thanks for the clarification Ratty.
  17. Is it not local henchmen that would organize and run events at most conventions? If you want a tournament there you should look to your local henchman to get the ball rolling. If someone wanted to run an event at such a large convention they might even be able to get sponsorship or other support from Wyrd.
  18. That sounds great and you almost have me convinced, but if that were the case why does the rule not simply say "After a Corpse Counter is placed on the table..." instead of "After a non-Mindless Zombie Corpse Counter is placed...". If the answer is simple, why would a rules marshall not chime in on this long before now?
  19. Unkillable mindless zombies seems kind of over powered to me (though the alternative that they become corpse counters that aNicodem can't even use seems highly under-powered). Either way I'd like an official clarification to ensure I'm not taking an unfair advantage or needlessly under powering my own crew.
  20. Looks like this was not clarified at all on the card. *bump*
  21. I asked for a rules marshal to chime in on this a while ago with no response. I'm hoping the wording is more clear on his card.
  22. I believe the argument is correct; the talent does not affect undead therefor he cannot choose to be undead for the purpose of that talent.
  23. Some really nice stuff all around. Thanks for sharing!
