  2. Howdy folks. AdeptiCon update.
I sent out a form through the AdeptiCon mail server to start collecting data to make the on-site event check in go more smoothly and quickly. If you haven't received the email, please email me at adepticonsean@gmail.com and I will forward you a link to the form. You don't need to fill out everything before the convention. However, the more info we have, the faster things will go the day of. So, please get as much as you can in before the convention starts. Each morning we will download the spreadsheet that the form generates and upload it to our software for the event. So, you can make changes or additions to your data right up to the night before.
Onto the fun stuff. Let's talk terrain.
The images are of two of the tables that will be in the Malifaux area. These fantastic tables are sponsored by Cracked Earth Studios.

We will be having a number of tables from KnuckleDuster Miniatures and TriCity Lasers again. If you were in attendance last year, you got to check out their amazing Casino terrain piece as well as a good selection of their Old West Line and Ghost Town line. This year, Forrest will be bringing along some of his wonderfully painted terrain to help us fill out tables.

NOVA and Matt Stanley will be bringing some of their terrain to make sure we have enough for the 50 Masters tables.

John John William Hartigan has been a big terrain help in years past and is stepping up again with a few of his tables.

Tom Bowersox and Amanda Bowersox are generously sponsoring some tables filled with their kickstarter pledge for Angry Mojo. And Amanda is also heading up the terrain organization this year. Be good to her. Don't damage the terrain wink emoticon.

Joseph Girard is bringing a couple tables from his collection.

Alex Parsons is bringing a few tables.

We also have a couple of people who are slated to bring a couple tables just in case.

Mats By Mars is bringing a selection of their mats for you guysand gals to try out at the events and I have ordered 4 myself. So, you should be able to see all of their line I believe. I am proud to be the first Convention to use their product.

I have 2 tables of terrain donated by PlastCraft. So, you can check out the Malifaux line and some of the Fukei line.

I have a "Big box and a small box" of terrain headed to my doorstep from Frontier Wargaming. I hope they arrive in time to be assembled and painted. I will do what I can. But, assuming they get to me before I leave on Wednesday, they will at least be assembled.

Dan Sulin has graciously given his terrain from AdeptiCons past to the Convention. So, they will be there.

Plus, there is my terrain that everyone hates....the sewer table....the F*c&ing Forest table. Plus a few from Konflikt Terrain and a few new ones.

All together, 50 gaming tables and 10 demo tables filled with cool terrain (most cooler than mine). Any tables that aren't used in events will be open gaming. So, if you didn't get into an event or couldn't find a teammate, come get some pick up games in.

I have more stuff coming in every day. But, so far, we have prizes provided by:
-Secret Weapon Miniatures (who also has a booth at AdeptiCon. Show them some love)
-Games Plus (who also has a booth at AdeptiCon. Show them some love)
-Dice Dojo / Chicagoland Games (who also has a booth at AdeptiCon. Show them some love)
    -Mario Suhardi
-Mats By Mars (I know Mario Suhardi is part of Mats By Mars....but he is donating painting service as well). Alex Lysis Parson will be in the Malifaux Hall to pimp their wares and take orders...I think.....well.....give him lots of orders anyway.
-Black Sun Games (yes they are no more. But, the owner wanted to see the Malifaux stock get used. Plus we hope they will be back in the future.)
    -Monkey Sword Games
    -Things Undone
    -Forrest Harris and KnuckleDuster Miniatures
    -AdeptiCon (tropheys)
    -And of course WYRD!!!!!!!!

AdeptiCon always throws some last minute prize support my way from the vendors. So, there will be more most likely. But, what a FANTASTIC list of sponsors. Thanks much to all of them

ANNNNNND....on top of that, Aaron and Mason from Wyrd will be there! Come say heloo to them.

Whew! That's a lot to take in and I have work to do before the con. So, I will stop there. I just have one more question:

    "CAN YOU DIG IT?!?!?!?!?!"

  3. AdeptiCon Achievement Scoresheet, Team Tourney and Story Encounter update

Sorry if this posts twice. But, I do not see the post I made earlier.

All of the rules packets have been sent off to the printers for AdeptiCon. I sent in the achievement League Scoresheets today. For those interested in checking out what they can try to achieve over the weekend, here is a link to the unpurdified version (sans graphics and formatting):

Also, there have been some issues brought up with Team Tourney format. These have been addressed and updated in the rules packs. The big one is a clarification on schemes and teammates. Teammates MAY COMPLETE each others' schemes. When selecting your schemes, each player selects one scheme. If the scheme requires you to select a model, you must make a note (I suggest doing it on the scoresheet) of the model you select and which player's if there are multiples on the team. If revealing the scheme, you must reveal the player you are targeting. Also, if you haven't downloaded the latest version, there are only 4 rounds now and they are 2.5 hours each as 2 hours just wasn't sufficient to get past turn 3. Play fast people!

Story Encounters always have last minute tweaks...why should this one be any different? The big changes all deal with 1) how your models actions interact with scenario feature like the Barker/Midway Games (short answer they don't. But read the scenarios again for specifics) and 2) how abilities that allow models to choose to not gain conditions will work for the scenario conditions (short answer: they don't. But read the scenarios again for specifics) and 3) Any of the special named interactions for this strategy may be taken by ANY model including Peons and Insignificant models.

So, you should all go download the latest rules packets as these will be the ones used.

  4. Howdy folks. Just a few heads up.

    1) AdeptiCon Preregistration ends Monday.

    2) I am thrilled to say we have sold out the 36 tables that were allocated to me for the Masters tourney. So, AdeptiCon has moved all things Wyrd to a larger hall. The downside is we will be sharing with two companies (Bolt Action and I forget the other). The upside is that we have room for more tables and wider isles between the rows. So, we have added another 4 tables to the Masters Event which brings us to 80 participants possible.  This is the largest Malifaux event ever. So, thanks to everyone making that happen. The tables may not show yet. But, if you want to register, I am told there is a way to get on the waiting list. If you do that, you will be offered a slot when the tables do get added to the Webcart. Also, we have space to add a few more tables if necessary. But, preregistration numbers will determine if that is necessary. If you register for an event and it is sold out, please add yourself to the wait list. I am willing to add as many tables as are neccessary. Plus, this event is a qualifier for the 1st annual Malifaux North American National Championship to be held at NOVA 2015. That's right....as well as a very nice prize package, the winner will get free entry to the National Championship held at NOVA 2015.
     3) On a more pressing matter, More tables means more terrain needed. So, if anyone is attending and has terrain they would like to loan to us for the Masters tourney on Saturday, please email me at adepticonsean@gmail.com and let me know how many tables you have. I will be eternally grateful.

    4) Team Tourney is doing nicely at 21 registered teams! There are still tickets available for this event. It is a two man team event. Only one team member needs to buy a ticket.

    5) for those who are unable to find a team mate for the Team Tourney, why not try Bragfaux? This is a fun event where the prize is braggin rights that you beat everyone at some of the Crossroads Scenarios. This event is happening alongside the Team Tourney Friday.

    6) Story Encounter has a very respectible 40 players at this point. We still have tickets left. So, if you want something to do before heading out Sunday, now is the time to register.

    7) Achievement League will have some stiff competition this year with 56 Players playing as many games as they can in an attempt to achieve league points. If you are registered for other Malifaux events and haven't registered for the Achievement League, why not? All games played over the convention (even demo games and pick up games) count towards the achievement list.

    8) Yes....we have cake again! Teams of three this year. No prizes other than best cake. So, find two buddies (I suggest finding one who can bake or knows someone who can) and get ready for the funnest convention opening party around. Only one team member needs to purchase a ticket.

    9) Want to demo some of Wyrd's many awesome games? Come by the hall and talk to the judges table. We will hook you up.

    10) Costume Contest qualifiers every day. So, bring 4 costumes and wear a different one every day.

    11) Prizes from fantastic companies like Wyrd Miniatures, Secret Weapon, Games Plus (in Mt Prospect), Chicagoland Games (in Chicago, IL), NOVA Malifaux North American Championship, Things Undone, Monkey Sword Games, AdeptiCon and it's vendors and more!

    12) Play on some of the coolest tables made by our volunteers as well as donated by fantastic companies like Sarrissa, TriCity Lasers and Knuckleduster Miniatures.

    13) We will be streaming the top table for Masters Event after the convention and maybe the others if I can make it happen.

Less than a month to go. Are you ready?!?!?!?!

  5. Basically before the flip for the casting, the GM needs to come up with the TN for the NPC to resist the spell and let the Player know what the TN will be so that the player can decide to cheat or not after flipping. If the player successfully casts the spell AND beats the TN the GM came up with for the resist, the spell goes off. If not, the NPC has resisted.

  6. shadow opal. In high school, my friend described me as "dark with flashes of brilliant color at times". Another said "yeah...like a shadowopal!" I will admit we were high at the time. But it stuck through high school and I started using it when the Internet and usernames hit....yes I am that old.
