Thanks everyone! I'm just trying to make sure I know the rules really well. I wanna start doing demos and promoting the game in my area and wanna make sure I teach new player correctly!

Ok took some pictures for clarification. 1.In this first picture both get cover because they are partialy covered by the obscuring forest and within 1 inch of it. 2.In this picture both get cover cause they are both within the forest. 3.In this picture the zombie does not get cover because he is not in the forest? Or does he get cover because ninos shots go through the forest and he is within 1 inch of the obscuring forest? 4.In this picture because the zombie is touching the forest does he now get cover? Or must he be completely within the forest? Or does the zombie continue to get cover same with example 3 for being within 1 inch of the forest or closer? Hope this clarifies what I'm trying to find out. Thanks!

So obscuring terrain only works when both people are out of it, shooting through it or when both people are within it shooting at each other, or for the one model in the obscuring terrain shooting out of it at a model that is not touching the obscuring terrain. Is that correct?

Ok confused. I thought that the 1 inch rules only worked with blocking terrain. So two people shooting at each other within the same forest both would not receive cover then?

So one example that I don't think was covered was if the convict gunslinger was in the obscuring ht 2 forest shooting out at the maniquin who was within 1 inch outside of the forest, does the defender get cover?

Does hans sniper ability allow him to ignore the random flip when shooting into friendly combat? Or does he still ahve to do that?

So the way cover with forest works just to make sure i'm getting it correct. If your in the forest and getting shot from the outside you get cover. If your inside of the forest shooting outside of the forest your target doesn't get cover. If your both inside of the forest shooting each other do you both get cover or do neither of you get cover?

Had these come out when I first started to play malifaux I might consider using them, but all my stuff is already based and I could only see these being usefull if you use the base inserts. But if I ever feel the urge to start a new faction I may give them a try.

What if the target you were shooting at from within a forest obscuring terrain was within one inch of the forest? They would get it then? Or not?

Obcuring terrain question. If your shooting from withing obscuring terrain does it count as shooting into it for soft cover for the model your trying to h it?

I always wondered what the purpose of night terrors were. They have a melee trigger that stops ranged attacks, yet to get the trigger they are already in melee which stops ranged attacks. I guess this could be good against models that can 0 slide out of melee but thats it. Now that they stop all attacks they are pretty amazing! I may pick them up. As I am a big fan of small pt models. My favorite thing to do is have marcus hit someone then stare them down and swarm them with beasts that they can't cheat against, lol.

I mean no disrespect to your painting when I say this but the Emberling is painted in such a cool way it almost looks like one of those translucent prepainted miniatures they used to make for the world of warcraft miniatures game. Didn't realize the emberling looked so cool!

@Matt Anderson I'm really bad with names so forgive me if I don't recognize you. Have you been to great escape before to play malifaux? I'm free on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and most Saturdays. I'm trying to get some of my friends into the games now that I have enough crews to demo a few and show people how to play.

I play! Its kinda of a bummer. Malifaux fan base seems to be stronger in Southern California. There was a decent sized group playing about a year ago, but its been a little smaller lately. Anyone who plays or wants to play Malifaux and is near the Sacramento area should post on this topic! We can get organized and get some more games in!

Is there something I'm missing on the cards for the Spawn Mother? She has masks assosiated with both of her attacks but doesn't have any triggers. Any ideas why she gets the masks for those attacks?

I was thinking of finally commissioning my most expensive malifaux crew ever. I don't think it will be that great as its limited to nightmare models with a few regular models in order to get other nightmare models in play. The list would be Lord Chompy Nightmare Edition, with 3 Nightmare Teddy's, a Jack Daw, and the two Gencon Hanged Trees! It may not be that great of a crew but will sure be funny to see all painted up on the table. I am hoping for more useable nightmares in the future! I really wish the tree box set came with three mini trees, two hanged and a jack daw so I could have all of them be nightmare models. I was trying to figure out a way to include the lady justice nightmare box set but they are all either guild or ressers so don't think it can be done.

Spawn mother is good if your dealing with undead raisers. Allows your Siliurids to steal all the corpses so they can't use them, lol.

Is Team Marcus still taking members? I wanna be member 666 for mark of the beast!

I would take her against nicodem. Giving all silirids graverobber is a great way to limit the number of undead nicodem can raise, since you can loot the corpses from everything you kill.

I got a tape measure from my gencon online order! Was a nice suprise!

Sorry it has been a while since I played and I was looking for the unique trait under the name, not the soulstone cost. My mistake. Thanks for the help though! I almost bought another one thinking they they may have been changed, lol.

Can anyone with the 1.5 rulebook confirm the electrical creations uniqe status? Only reason i ask is cause my card does not say unique but the book does. And it is one of the models that is not on the updated card pdf for arcanists.

Was playing a game and one of the players insisted that I was not allowed to create spiders off of carried scrap counters because they were not within 6 inches of ramos. I know sounds silly. But he even insisted that this was addressed on the forums somewhere, which I have not been able to find. Also what is the point of salvage under fire then? Because the healing spell has the same requirements, discard a scrap counter within 6 inches. I know some people have crazy interpretations of the rules and th is may be one of them. Please let me know if carried scrap counters can be used for these spells. Thanks.

I have a set of teddys for puppet wars that I was considering selling on ebay but figured I would give this forum a try first. Go ahead and make me an offer! I can't remember what they sold for last year but I think it was around 50 so I would want at least that. Message me or reply to this topic I will be keeping an eye out.

So marcus crews can effectivly have 3 shikomes? 2 Real ones and one as a transformed Miranda? I thought she didn't count as she doesn't get all the spells of the shikome. If I remember correctly when she transforms she retains her own spells.
