  1. Love your work. Do you have a group shot? What paints did you use for the wood and cloak?
  2. Love the beginnings. The metallics would benefit from better lighting, as we can already see they are nice, but clearer photos would do them justice.
  3. I almost asked if he painted with oils or enamels due to the shine. very nice.
  4. Much better. The "glossy" matte varnish is due to too much being used.
  5. Just confirmed, Dorothy is part of a set of 5, with a LE 6th only available to those who (at the time) own all 5 resin cast with the Certificates of Authenticity. Therefore, the pewters will be nice to own, yet the resins will offer more in the way of value to a collector.
  6. ...and above all else: DON'T FORGET TO PIN IT:frusty:
  7. The mini, like many from recent waves, is 2-Dimensional in its sculpting. It lacks presence on the tabletop and is only appealing when viewed from directly in front. Even the back and lower portions of it seem "forgotten" or rushed by the sculptor.
  8. Various Ice Queen or Ice Witch minis would also work. Im using one from Crocoile Games that I picked up in a bargain bin.
  9. The cog image in the signature makes it look very "Mega Man"... if anyone remembers the 1990's Nintendo character here. If you are considering taking projects, I would be first in line for a Sig Shop if you set one up.
  10. OP - please PM "thattyeguy" He is the undisputed master when fielding McMourning and understands the intricacies of fielding him. He won the overall 1st place at AUSCON recently and plays very fairly also. I believe his list included (35SS): McM Sebastian Flesh Construct Crooked Man 5? Doggies 2 Rotten belles Im not sure if this was all but I know he wiped the floor with me 8-2 and I was playing Rasputina (albeit with a pre-RP list)
  11. Heroes of Old have been in stasis for 1000 years, only to be awoken when the world was in dire peril once again. That time is now. A fortnight prior, something bad has begun, wheels are in motion and our heroes are awakened by the Warden, Pandanus. It is up to them to eplore and discover what they face and best it. Much has changed from the medieval fantasy world they knew. The Industrial era approaches, so there are semi-industrialised cities/places emerging. Black powder and experimental machines (steam/magic-powered). Magic and technology are interchangable. Wonderous devices such as the Zepplin are in prototype stages. There second session was last night and they have discovered that the undead are rising in extreme numbers... Is this some move by Orcus to wrestle power from the Raven Queen or something more sinister?
  12. Hi all, A couple of friends fell throgh on paying for the extra Dorothy I bought for them each. Which leaves me with a few spares. There were only 450 cast in resin for AUSCON, each with its own certificate of authenticity. This is less produced than a McVey Ltd Ed resin. Please post your order of Dibs here and PM me with a decent offer. Once I know what their market value is, I will attend to offers in a First-come-First-served manner.
  13. Malifaux isnt true scale nor is it Heroic. Space Marines are Heroic. Look at their heads, hands and weapons. Malifaux masters have larger heads in most cases, but the remainder of the sculpts are more True scale for their scale.
  14. Great start. Why the white eye covers?
  15. Our paladin seems to now understand his role as Defender. Which is awesome for only his second session of DnD ever. The group is meshing well, with the twin Drow borthers working together to take down their fair share of the zombies. Our Dwarven Cleric proves that he can deliver death in equal portions with life... effectively incinerating half the zombies that were attacking the small village with his Divine fires.
  16. I saw that in an episode of the X-files. On topic, I have been licking my brush for 15 years, but have only recently moved to using additives. Previously I used distilled water. Of course, I do not condone anyone licking their brush when using potentially harmful chemicals.
  17. That is a beautiful effect, mate. I only wish I had my airbrush when I painted my craftworld eldar.
  18. Licking metallics often makes the experience more surreal
  19. Brush it off all you want. it will be the difference between a Gold and Silver.
  20. Terrain/basing: http://www.terrainthralls.com/Tutorials%20folder/Bases/Bases.html and Massive Voodoo... http://massivevoodoo.blogspot.com/ Specifically, for the Malifaux players out there, MV does a Steampunk/Sci-Fi base building tute using old watch parts here: http://massivevoodoo.blogspot.com/2011/02/tutorial-using-material-from-old.html
  21. Regardless of education, before you informed me of this, the mini was not as visually-appealing. It could also be the photography. yes, the lack of purples/appearance as blues could be what detracts from the overall effect.
