  1. Rogue Necromancy! Rogue Necromancy! Rogue Necromancy!
  2. You need some adventure in your life! http://www.lead-adventure.de/ Also, some of the most inspiring miniatures you can imagine!
  3. There's a bit more info, including a link to the company I used here: http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=17849&page=2 Eventually, I'll put together a "How to make custom decks" post - I really hope other clubs start doing something similar, and want to get the knowledge out there! BTW - I'm happy to ship to the UK ...
  4. Outstanding! great use of the pieces. You've made some very characterful poses - the "put a ring on it" and dangling gun, in particular. Looking forward to seeing them painted.
  5. I lived in Texas for 4 years - I'll come back to visit (and for Firehouse Chipotle BBQ sauce - yum!), but I'll not stay. I concur that Texas has never been a colony, and is only a part of the United States in the very vaguest sense.
  6. With all due respect, when we say pants in the colonies, we mean pants.
  7. Ahhh ... Empire Knights. Horrible, dated monstrosities, but you've actually made them look nice - Well done!
  8. Please, this discussion is moot. Everyone knows Neverborn don't wear pants. Truthfully, look at the Neverborn range and show me one model with pants. OK, so there's Coppelius and Lelu, but really - the Neverborn have the lowest pants-to-model ratio of any faction. Pants Viktoria = Human. No Pants = Neverborn.
  9. You're generous, but "Most Over-Produced Tournament Ever" seems more fitting. Whether the tournament is any good depends on y'all.
  10. Also, if folks will be at the upcoming (March 26th, I believe) Malifaux tournament at the Seattle Wargaming Center, I reckon I could arrange a Warhamster to have a deck to drop them off in person.
  11. Cards are ready! There are 12 available for sale. Details are in the "for sale" sister thread to this thread, if you'd like to purchase one. AFAIK, this is the first custom deck produced for Malifaux. Plenty of clubs have custom dice. I reckon (and hope) that many clubs will have custom decks in the future. However, if those bad boys ever become collectible, these will be the holy grail! Plus, they're cool! A note about our club: Folks from Bellingham (The City of Subdued Excitement - actual city nickname!) are called Bellinghamsters. My gaming club started off primarily as a Warhammer Fantasy club, hence: The Bellingham Warhamsters. Our mascot is a hamster with a knife on its back - riffed from the "Turn Your Hamster Into a Fighting Machine" meme. I cobbled together most of the art from free clip art sources, but drew all but one of the puppets myself. Our local PP Pressganger did the joker graphics and the card back. I did all of the layout, graphic design, etc. Of course, given my graphic, cartoony style of painting, it should be no surprise that I like stark, iconic graphics! I became the master of the potent combo of Picasa, Microsoft Paint, and my secret weapon: Inkscape. Inkscape is a free vector graphics program that let me vectorize images - essentially giving them infinite resolution. I'll eventually post a more detailed tutorial of how I made these, in hopes that others will do the same! The number of icons on the card faces correspond to the numeric value of the card. The colors and fonts used match the respective factions. The Guild is represented by guns and nooses. The Ressers are represented by skulls and bones. The Arcanists are represented by cogs and gears. The Neverborn are represented by voodoo dolls. The jokers are variations on our club mascot - a hamster with a knife strapped to its back (with the Outcast font). The red hamster of rage, and the black "you're doing it wrong" dead hamster. The cards turned out wonderful! We used: http://www.customizedplayingcards.com/. I can't recommend them enough! They are sturdy 300 gsm plastic coated cards. Very rich and deep colors. They are the size of a poker deck (2.5" x 3.5"). They come in a hard plastic case. Just to let you know about the "luck" infused in the cards: I'm a Resser player who uses a convict gunslinger. My first hand of 6 cards after shuffling was: 13, 11, 9, and 3 of Crows; 10 and 9 of Masks. Those of you who play know how unbelivably awesome that opening hand is! Photos of the cards follow: Card Backs (That'd be a hamster skull and crossbones): Hodge Podge of cards: Rams: Crows: Tomes: Masks: Hard Plastic case and cardboard sleeve:
  12. Hey all - Cards are ready! There are 12 available for sale. Cost is $20 per deck. A bit pricey, but these weren't cheap to produce As usual, the proceeds go to fund the prize table for the tournament. I'm out of corpse/scrap counters, but have 7 of the strategy token sets left. If you're interested in getting some strategy counters along with a deck, I'll give you the strategy counters for $15 instead of $18. Shipping will depend on location, but it seems that $5.20 priority flat rate boxes (or $14.00 flat rate to the UK) seem to fit stuff pretty well. First class is cheaper - 2 or 3 dollars for domestic. If you're interested, send me a PM! AFAIK, this is the first custom deck produced for Malifaux. Plenty of clubs have custom dice. Only 35 of these decks exist. 23 are reserved for the tournament attendees. A dozen will be available for sale - once they're gone, I reckon they're gone. Given the minimums required to produce these, and their cost, we've got no plans of reprinting (though I'm already planning the custom deck for next year!). 13. Very carefully? Packed in foam? That's gorgeous, mate! Looks like it's ready for some Guild executions! very professionally done. DO you have a link to the tutorial you used? I'd love to attempt this for a bayou board.
  14. Look great! For quick and easy moulds, try "Amzing Mould Putty. You can get in the US at craft stores like michaels and Hobby Lobby. I think it retails for like $20, but you can find 40% and 50% off coupons for those stores pretty easily. Really easy to use, and would be perfect for a project like ice pillars.
  15. Teaser images of the other suits follow - I'll post pics of the actual cards later today:
  16. Some? The cards came in today (a week early), and I have to say: WOW! Exceeded expectations. Details to follow!
  17. Here's some rice maggots that I've used to base some of my Nurgle stuff. It works fine, though in retrospect I'd be just as likely to use green stuff.
  18. Better still - Troll and Toad has 71 of the middle ones for $.99 a piece! http://www.trollandtoad.com/p282079.html
  19. I'd suggest picking up a variety of rat swarms from different mini companies. Just google "Rat swarm miniature" For example, this'd be a great base for Hammy himself: This is a "common" D&D pre-paint that you can get for about $1.50 a piece. WOuld be great for standard troopers: Dark heaven rat swarm:
  20. We're making a custom fate deck for the tournament. Think "club dice" but as a full deck of cards. We're only ever going to make 35 decks - most will be given away to tournament participants, 13 or so will be available for sale (again, to cover some of the production costs and help fund the prize table). Each card has a different face. Should be very cool! A teaser:
  21. Just a heads up - I'm 99% certain the corpse/scrap counters are gone, and there are about 7 sets of the strategy counters left - get them while you can! In about 1 week I hope to post the fate deck - stay tuned!
  22. I've been busy! The everyone-gets-one model for the tournament is in full production. I took a break from casting to get one painted. Without further ado, I give you the Tillinghast Beast! Here’s some of the green: A cast Beast: The Beast 360: The beast attacks! Additionally, one of the games will have a special objective - in game, it's a Tillinghast Resonator, however it might also make a nice Aethervox. The Tillinghast Resonator “sculpt” – a lego with some bits and plasticard glued on: Some resonators fresh off the production line: Finally, here are some other objective markers. I've made 40 of these in all - 2 per tournament participant.
  23. Malifaux is full of "I'm never going to let THAT happen again!" moments. Priceless!
  24. For sure, the difference in pics made a big difference. This is true for any on-line painting contest. The quality of the photo and overall rpesentation makes a huge difference. The requirements were to present a single photo, with the large dimension no bigger than 600. Next round we're planning on two shots - 1 overall shot, one close-up.
