  1. Yeah, really cool. Look forward to seeing more of your stuff
  2. Sure, the trick with the bear was the choice of a turquoise green tone to the shadows as a nice complement to the orange. It also helped to make him look a bit musty and ragged. He was mostly based around VMC Desert Yellow which is a lovely orangey brown colour. Highlights were in VMC Beige and VMC Light Flesh. For shadows I added increasing amounts of VMC Gunship Green and touches of VMC Dark Prussian Blue.
  3. And here's the wonderfully creepy Baby Kade all finished up. (click through to see larger versions hosted on Flickr) He was such a joy to paint, even though he was so tiny. He was also the miniature which first attracted me to the wonderfully wyrd world of Malifaux. I'm not 100% sure about the base, thinking back I'd love to have done a Halloween theme for my Neverborn and something which contrasted a little more with Kade and his Teddy, but I wanted him to match the Sorrows so went with the autumnal sandstone theme.
  4. I'm using the Convict Gunslinger in my McMourning crew at the moment, so instead of starting a new thread for him I figure I'd append him here. Here's the work in progress so far
  5. Really great job on these. Nice bold colours, neat and a cohesive crew Shading is nice and I like the little touches such as the green elements on all models to tie them together.
  6. Really nice idea and well executed. She's pretty striking. Interested to see how the theme pans out across the rest of her crew.
  7. You have mad basing skills. Really like the pumpkin/autumn theme for those rezzers. Now, let's get some paint on them...
  8. That is really nicely done. Love the Delirium ref and the green skulls work really well compositionally.
  9. They are the Celtic Fantasy 30mm bases from UK manufacturer Kerr & King.
  10. Sorrows pretty much done. Just need to tidy the bases a little and get some varnish on them to protect them in game. Neverborn Sorrows, Malifaux by Maxvon_d, on Flickr Must say they grew on me the more I painted them
  11. Great themed crew. The basing really works, especially on the dandy Seamus. Nicely done!
  12. The red marshalls are going to stand out really nicely on the table and the colour ties in nicely to Sonnia. Good job
  13. Okko minis are nice but word of warning they are very expensive (at least they are here in the UK). I've been wanting to get some just to paint up. Highly recommend the comic series btw. Gorgeous artwork and a great story.
  14. Oh yeah, sorry about that. For the teddy he was mostly based around VMC Desert Yellow which is a lovely orangey brown colour. Highlights were in VMC Beige and VMC Light Flesh. For shadows I added increasing amounts of VMC Gunship Green and touches of VMC Dark Prussian Blue. At least I think that's what I did!
  15. I use mostly VMC because of the colour range which tend to be a bit more muted and they have good pigmentation for the most part. I have a couple of VGC, but also have a few paints from all sorts of manufacturers I have collected over the years Hopefully tomorrow I'll make some good progress on Kade and the Sorrows. Already very happy with the stitching on his teddy. Need to fix the PC hard drive before I'll be able to upload pics though :/
  16. Cheers all I was intentionally leaving Kade very pasty looking but didn't want to go the whole unnaturally grey route. I still have a little work to do on the flesh though as I was intending to put in some light vein-work as in the official paintjob, then glaze over to blend it back "under the skin" so to speak. I was also considering a thin purple glaze in the shadow areas. We'll see. For the bear I'm using beige and golden brown paints from Vallejo (will check the exact colour names when I am back home), with light flesh for the highlights. I decided however to use a bluish tinge to the shadows as a complementary colour, so I went and mixed in increasing amounts of a dark blue to the golden brown and applied it thinly. Again, there's a little more to go on the teddy, I was hoping to get a bit of a textured look to the highlighting to emphasise that sackcloth look. I look forward to seeing how he looks with the stitching picked out and and the button eye and stuffing spill painted. Kade's been a real joy to paint I must say.
  17. After a bit of a break from the painting I'm back at the brushes. Still got my Rezzers to finish but I'm also working on a Pandora crew. Here's a couple of work in progress shots of Kade and the Sorrows. 18. I was thinking something along these lines myself
  19. Nice crew. The blue Lilith is an interesting choice but it works. If I was constructively critical I'd say your paints could be thinned a little. But then you say you got these painted up quickly, and you have got great results for such a short amount of time.
  20. I've been reluctant to pick up Bete Noire as I've not been a fan of the sculpt but you've done a great job with her. And the rest of your rezzers are superb. Particular standouts are the green Belle, Seamus trousers and the nurse stockings as others have mentioned. Overall a fantastic crew. Great job
  21. I sometimes like to add a touch of blue to the highlighting mix along with the grey. Not sure if I would on those weatherworn dusters but it's just a thought.
  22. Another thumbs up from me. Loving Lady J's hair. Look forward to seeing more of your Malifaux stuff
  23. Sweet work on those Rezzers. Loving the blood spattering and the overall paintjobs. Look forward to seeing them based. Might I suggest that a different camera/lighting setup could really do them justice
  24. Great job. That flesh is excellent.
