  1. Of course they don't care much for the law... the law says that Necromancy is illegal!
  2. I love the bases on all these! Excellent work.
  3. Very cool stuff! I like the graveyard especially.
  4. Very nice! I really like the Candy. You do very good work with the faces. That's something I've been slowly working on... and it's tough!
  5. Haha, very nice! Can't wait to see it painted.
  6. What makes me play Malifaux? EVERYTHING! I was initially drawn in by the minis. I had a few linked to me on some Mordheim forums and they looked interesting. After seeing a few different minis over the few months leading up to the Malifaux release I decided to look into the actual game. So, I decided to pick up the rulebook to see if I would like it. Once I read up on how the game worked I was instantly hooked. The mechanics are really unique and very cool. The card aspect drew me in because I always roll terribly and it makes for a more balanced game. The small scale skirmish aspect is a big plus for me as well. I ordered minis within days of getting the book. Normally, I tend to skip the fluff when reading rulebooks for tabletop games. I find it usually to be boring and/or difficult to follow. I decided to check out a little of the Malifaux fluff after reading the rules since I didn't have minis yet. That's now one of my favorite parts of Malifaux! There are lots of interesting characters AND stories. I love this part enough that I'm going back and re-reading the fluff from book 1 while waiting for book 2 to show up. I have to admit that at first I was a little worried about the mixing of all kinds of genres for the setting, but wow did they do an amazing job of creating an awesome setting.
  7. I want to preface this by saying that I've not had a lot of non-GW minis prior to picking up Malifaux and I've only painted 3 Malifaux minis (all Rotten Belles) so far, and I'm awful at the painting aspect of the hobby... With that said, I feel like these models are excellent in that they are all very unique, styled and fun minis. I do feel like they are not quite as detailed as most GW minis, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. As far as prepping them I didn't have any issues. There were a few minor mold lines, and most of the models I've picked up require at most attaching one limb so far.
  8. These are now available on the Tabletop Geeks Malifaux Downloads page. Thanks Berman!
  9. This is turning out much better than I thought it would at first! I can't wait to see it painted.
  10. Well that didn't take long! Looks pretty good.
  11. I finally got a new camera today. It's a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7 (and it's blue!). After spending a few hours playing around with settings I got it exactly where I want it. I can take good pics of my minis finally! I also picked up a Portable Photo Studio from ThinkGeek that works great! So, I took a bunch of pics of all my painted and WIP Malifaux minis... which all happen to be Rotten Belles right now. Tell me what you think! I left up the pictures taken with the old camera, and it's pretty obvious which were taken with which camera. Red Belle Blue Belle Green Belle Group Shot! And, just for fun, I also used it to take a pic of my desk... where I spend 90% of my time.
  12. Finally got a camera... so I took a pic of my desk. You can see my workspace on the left there. Yeah, I know, it's pretty small...
  13. I was just wondering if they were going to have some fluff in book 2 for the gremlins. I don't really remember any in book 1?
  14. I really didn't like Gremlins at first... but they're growing on me fast.
  15. I keep meaning to go to DreamWizards. Do you know of any good shops nearby that have Malifaux stuff?

  16. I was thinking about trying it out despite my reservations. The one question I have is why do you need the models on the table? What purpose do they serve? The best I can get from the website is that they give you an overview... but doesn't the computer also give you that? If they don't have any real function, then this is just a computer game where you can copy what's happening on your table. You could technically do that with just about any game...
  17. Hiya, Glad you like the downloads page. :) I'm living down in Rockville right now. Where are you located?

  18. At first I thought this was a really cool idea... Then I started to think about it. If everything is done on the computer, then why do I need the tabletop at all? You're really just playing a computer game and moving the models along on the table in real life to accompany it. Sure, that's kinda cool, but I can't see what the point is in the tabletop.
  19. I want Molly! Very excited now. I saw mentions before but never any details. This all sounds awesome!
  20. What about tewfik? He was the one originally looking for it. :-P I'm not interested in it for myself... I'm posting on tewfik's behalf because he can't be near a computer at the moment.
  21. Do these come with all of the cards for them? Are they painted/unpainted?
  22. Has anyone ever used glossy paint for their miniatures? I picked up some glossy black the other day with the idea of using it to paint black leather on my Rotten Belle. After painting it on it looks a bit too shiny, more like latex than leather. However, I did have another idea. I wonder how it would look if I were to drybrush the black gloss on top of the flat black to create natural shiny highlights. I'm going to test it out tonight I think. I can't tell if it will just look really weird or really cool. Anyone else have ideas on how to use glossy paint?
  23. Gratz! Now give us dirt on all the GenCon happenings pls.
  24. I have to echo what everyone else is saying here... Creating your own character and bringing them to life is a huge part of what makes RPGs so great. And as ChaosLenny said... while the typical experience/leveling system isn't perfectly true to life, character progression is incredibly important. It's a huge part of games in general for me.
