  1. I can't express my disappointment that "Buffalo Snow" was not a aphorism for something highly amusing. The mind boggled. From memory Brush Thralls (whack it in google) had some good advice about snow bases. I also just use bicarbonate of soda with PVA glue but its fairly fiddley.
  2. I am a gaggle of burrowing warm blooded marsupials. Don't tell me about trying to paint miniatures without opposable thumbs.
  3. The models should come with stat cards. Its worth checking out the Nicodem box set, he comes with three from memory and Mortimer goes well with any Master. Ressurectionist Masters often don't have big hitters like Punk Zombies (particularly Seamus and his Belles) so regardless of the crew you end up using you'll probably want Punk Zombies. McMourning can do without them by spamming Canine Remains and Flesh Constructs and himself but even then a Punk Zombie wouldn't hurt. Nicodem is particularly good for them as he has Bolster Undead which makes them even more dangerous. Its also well worth grabbing the rulebook as it has the stats for everything...not to mention its a banging read. I actually own two so I can get my mates hooked while still playing
  4. Whistle away, a little bird told me something. You Sir, are a bounder and a flertigibert.
  5. Nice work, looking forward to seeing more.
  6. May one enquire as to the flavour of said insertables? I am fiddling about with water effects looking for Bayou base inspiration right now... Anyone not noticing the Twitter links in the sigs of various peeps of importance should have a gander: http://twitter.com/WyrdGames http://twitter.com/Mr_Tombers_Head Canine Remains? Be still my quivering scalpel!
  7. Nathan's email is: nathan@wyrd-games.net He is disturbingly fast, almost...too fast, as if an eldritch whisper from beyond the grave alerts him to prospective emails. It may be worth ordering cards for models you intend to proxy, at 50c they are a bargain. I like the flame base dude for my Essence of Power so I grabbed the card without the nude dude mini. I also got all the faction decks, laminated them and have not regretted it at all. $5 each from memory. Means your opponents can have a copy, too.
  8. That is some hot arboreal action, right there. Drooling over the prospect of seeing some Hanged up there.
  9. Stop talking about Hockey and write our second Malifaux bookie already. Don't be like George RR Martin and his lemon tarts and football.
  10. What crew are you looking at doing first?
  11. Strategy against the left is a good idea. It'll end up a scrum in the middle with most Strategies so no worries about turtling.
  12. We need to start decorating our bases with torn off ***** limbs and half-digested balloon animals.
  13. I've been listening to HP Lovecraft audiobooks on the bus and it is bending my brain out of shape. Could we have a side order of eldritch horror from the dawn of time that man should not wot of? If you could time it for a gibbous moon, that'll help out with a spooky adjective with quite a boring real world meaning. Seriously, screw circus performers, may we please have a crew lead by Nyarlathotep surfing around on a Shoggoth? We all know Silurid are Cthulhu-spawn, just lay the cards on the table already. That is not dead which incessantly quoted lies. And in strange aeons even copyrights may die.
  14. Great choice of colours on the spider, I may have to steal those blue legs if my metallics don't pop enough.
  15. Quick tips: The fat middle of the brush is where a reservoir of paint feeds into the thin tip. The closer the paint is to the handle, the harder it will be to clean. The tips becomes useless if solid paint in the thick part of the brush builds up - you'll see the tip split when this happens. Keeping your brush fairly wet while painting for long periods of time can help prevent this.
  16. We actually had both opposing Masters the target of Assassinate - just because everyone helps out to avoid having that Master beating on them. If everyone knows each other's Strategy you can prune the right player. Our last one ended with three models on the board: Lilith on 3 health having achieved Assassinate (twice) Kade 2" away from acheiving Treasure Hunt A single Piglet only one dead Lilith short of achieving Claim Jump. And we had our Schemes except for Lilith who failed Kidnap due to Mosquito Farts finishing off Pandora. Came down to a Skeeter choosing to kill Pandora with Pull My Finger instead of Lilith. It was pretty chaotic, ended up 4-2-2 but had we finished off Lilith it would have been 2-6-6. Teddy had a great rampage Regenerating all his damage until Lilith zotted him on Turn 5. Nice close games.
  17. http://www.wargamerau.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=79897&st=20 Competition on the tree front there, will be interesting to see it painted up. Also check out Blind Pig's posts, she has trawled the web for fantastic Malifaux terrain and left us the links. I'll make sure to get piccies to post up here if no Piggies beat me to it. Waiting on the club to finish renovation then its Malifauxation a-go-go.
  18. Just did them, need to get some paint on it now.
  19. ...is really quite good, the missions seem to scale very well and initiative flips work fine. We often play three player when bringing someone new into the game, lets them find out what more crews do and gives more time for them to watch and learn. If you haven't tried it yet I'd encourage you to give it a go.
  20. My first three games with Somer have been essentially draws (one card flip's difference who wins) mostly against Lilith. The pigs trash her crew and then its a matter of trying to bring Pull My Finger to bear. If Somer survives her charge and has a pair of Skeeters around that is five Pull My Fingers, two of which need high cards and three can be Soulstoned if need be. Making sure they have no hand with Gremlin's Luck Skeeters is pretty key, their cards are eventually going to fail them even with Defense 6 when most models in my crew are Pigcharging 3 times a turn. If you really can't get Somer to work, just pick another Outcast Master and crew to switch to for the Strategies you have trouble with. People have mentioned Assasinate as a problem, I've done pretty well timing the Pigcharges right. My opponent is usually done activating and hasn't got much of a hand when three Piglets and a Warpig get Sooey'd into range and start Pigcharging. I've never faced Perdita although if I do I know I won't be Pigcharging out of their melee range, by hiding Gremlins and a Skeeter using Sooey it should be possible to engage them before getting shot by anyone but Nino.
  21. <insert fuzzy pawprint here> Made with freshly gutted Warpig blood from last night! The only thing Teddy wants in the whole world is a little friend to play with. Because this one is broken.
  22. They didn't show up much in frontier towns?
  23. I use a lot more piglets than Gremlins...Gremlins take a bit of learning to use right (Focus shots and the +2Cb on odd cards) You will eventually want 8 Gremlins, 2 War Pigs and 6 piglets...you'll only need half of those under 35SS most likely although pig spam can be funny...and funny for your opponent, too, as that low Cb will stop it being devastating.
  24. I don't know what I'm going to do without a Swingin' Jack Daw and his Crooning Quartet diorama.
  25. That is a brilliant looking crew, really looks like it is looming out of the dark. Love your Teddy, his big gums and blood dribbles look obscene and grotesque. Fantastic! Anyone looking to check Micro Arts I can highly recommend them. I've just picked up over 200 skull bases and they are beautiful.
