  1. Hit them with the Toolkit, make your own corpse for next turn
  2. That is a shame Belles aren't handy anymore. Malifaux icon right there. Doxies feel like they are replacing Punk Zombies for damage dealers. I'm trying Seamus out again for the first time in M3E next week. Was planning to take one of everything but Mourners to see how they go.
  3. Thanks a heap! They look like a cheap model if they stay at 4SS. Passing sounds like a useful trick but the low range doesn't seem to help letting your opponent get closer before Luring.
  4. Returning to Malifaux from a long hiatus and playing Seamus to pick it up again. Dead Dandies showed up on this fancy crew builder contraption: https://m3e-crew-builder.herokuapp.com/ ...and holy balls that is excellent, don't forget the Tip Jar link in the bottom right, I'll be throwing them $10, it makes schemes so much easier. Dandies don't appear in the card PDFs. Do they exist in M3E? Are they just male Doxies for all intents and purposes? I can't find official models but there should be a cane in the RPG plastic sprue to make one. I currently have no Doxie models, just Belles, so if they aren't a thing I might just have male Doxies to make it super easy for my opponent to differentiate.
  5. I've got mine jammed into some that don't quite fit. Does anyone know the exact dimensions / successfully ordered card slips on line that fit snugly?
  6. So you can choose your Speckled Crawlers on the first turn, eat one of your Fireteams to got to Glory, then generate two Reinforcement tokens from the Glory side of the card? Sounds too good to be true. Definitely will need to explain this to my opponent.
  7. There is Strategy to put a Pinned token on every one of their units, also one to eat their Reinforcement tokens to go to Glory. Should help.
  8. I'm the same with eggs. If I start using more than two regularly in the game I'll grab models for them, not so sneaky when they pop something up where they couldn't be seen by my opponent, too.
  9. Having my first game with Hordes Wednesday so grain of salt but reading through the rules I am picking up a subtle theme of eating your own dudes and snaffling Reinforcement tokens by the handful before venturing out. Feels very December. Chow down! I'm proxying some Nameless from Mantic's Deadzone as Spotted Crawlers - I'm wondering if the starter set doesn't need them to operate the Alpha Crawler properly?
  10. Sounds like I'll be proxying some Malifaux crews then
  11. Reading the book before my starter set arrives I was surprised we got Striped and not Speckled in the starter. Retail release can't come soon enough. I might be proxying them as Speckled for now.
  12. These are beautiful, you've made six Malifools in Brisbane very happy, Richelieu!
  13. Thanks for doing such a great job with these, Richeleiu. Apparently ours are in Ohio at the moment. There are about to be a lot of very happy Brisbane Malifools.
  14. Was it "Hamelyn the Plagued" in-game? As mentioned, Hamelin is a corrupted retelling of people who used to recruit immigrants to settle in Poland, from memory. If they are making the plague connection that may be unique to Malifaux.
  15. That was brilliant. Less variety than the first one but nailing one master thoroughly is a good idea. I wonder if its worth doing a good starting masters article? Lilith and ... something. If anyone is sitting on the fence whether to listen to this, just do it. I usually don't listen to podcasts and this site now has pride of place in my favourites list. The musical references were great - I love me some Tom Waits but hadn't realised how scarily direct some of the references were. I wonder if some of the Malifaux creaters are fans of his Alice album?
  16. I promise to stop trolling Eric's hockey thread if you acceed to our demands
  17. We've been Kirai and Colette against Lilith and Raspy. Book One crews are winning hands down. Only game Rising Powers crews have won were against other Rising Powers crews. We are about 8 games in.
  18. My local store owner has asked me if I figured out how to marry the Malifaux book. If it weren't for a few loved painting projects and a few mates who play 40K it would be long gone. I play Warmachine to get my chessmaster on and Malifaux for the hilarity and just beautiful game mechanics and miniatures. Doing my best to convert Warhamsters in Brisbane. Fantasy's ridiculous price of entry with big units in 8th edition is causing a lot of Fantasy people to jump ship.
  19. Spot the reference is great fun with Malifaux: Coppellius is the Pale Man from Pan's Labyrinth with the head of The Thing from the John Carpenter movie. I only just watched The Thing, made me see Aliens in a whole new perspective. Not to mention superficial resemblances to At the Mountains of Madness. Zoraida: Baba Yaga russian "fairytale" plus Voodoo Seamus: Jack the Ripper plus the Mad Hatter Rasputina is a classic Ice Witch a la Chronicles of Narnia, and her escaping the Neverborn chasing her is Rasputin, but where does the pact with the Devil with a particular cannibalistic flavour to him come from?
  20. I can't believe we are talking Hockey while there are gibbering nightmares from the dawn of time and psychotic teddy bears around here. As long as you don't get all George RR Martin and start blogging about sports and attempting to eat yourself to death with lemon tarts while not putting out product, Eric, its okay. If it were in my power though, I'd ban you from Hockey until the Mechanical Doves are out, tokens are cool, but .... Mechanical Doves are awesome I'll throw money at you, promise.
  21. Off topic, but Jack Daw and his Hanged work best with Pandora. All his useless Masks are great for her. You are competing on Crows for her fall back trigger. He removes bonuses to Willpower, she removes Immunities. Its a fragile expensive crew begging to be sniped but once you are near it you are taking Morale and Willpower duels all over the place, most likely with negative twists. I've always thought Seamus' psychological powers are under-used. The only time I've seem someone try was with one Hanged and I killed it good and proper before it could get cranking.
  22. There is a lot of good stuff in Rising Powers. Showing it round my game club, though, as soon as people see the Pigapult they want to learn to play or if they already do, almost visibly salivate at the concept art. Congratulations, Wyrd, I thought the main book was a good peep through the looking glass. Rising Powers smashed it out of the park, its a delightful pastiche of cool and crazy.
  23. That is a lot of pretty. One week 'til I get Rising Powers...*implodes with anticipation*
