  1. Wow, I didn't notice that before, but yes it does read that way.
  2. Are you going to put a door on the base of The Dreamer? That would fit the theme.
  3. Nice job! I really like that for the most part you used a limited palette. Gives the crew some uniformity.
  4. I am confident that Nathan and Eric will do what they can to avoid power creep. Also, the way this game is structured (mixing characters to form Crews) it should be easier to keep older models from becoming obsolete after newer designs are released. Some (and I was one) complain about the large errata and FAQ, but I feel they are there to help avoid these issues.
  5. Based on their name I would guess laser or die cut.
  6. I agree that using more of the family makes sense, but I also think you should use other strategies than slaughter. IMO the use of strategies is a key part of this great game.
  7. Masterful paint job! Great proxy choices.
  8. http://www.wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=14985 This one's just below the other one I mentioned. But if you want to save time, the answer is we don't know if all Book 2 miniatures will be released before Book 3 comes out.
  9. Truly terrific terrain! Great use of craft-store bits and other kits!
  10. Well, the most recent post asking about the release schedule is only a few posts below yours. I don't troll, just trying to be helpful for future requests by other gamers.
  11. Can someone PLEASE make the release schedule a sticky or more pronounced on the site? No offense, but it seems everyday someone is posting asking for it.
  12. Would love to play on that board! Great work!
  13. Great buildings! Really like the gallows; would make a nice centerpiece for a custom encounter.
  14. Though it uses cards, I don't think the game mechanic for Aarklash Warpack is similar to Malifaux. And besides, it seems clear that Rackham Entertainment (who has always used cards in their mini games) can't sustain itself as a serious game company for very long anyway, so who cares. Trust me, I've been on the AT-43 bandwagon for quite some time. Now I'm thinking of selling it all and using the money to buy Malifaux stuff.
  15. I agree, and think that quite sums it up.
  16. But I wonder...was it really their idea first, or were they just the first to patent it? I seem to remember some older miniature companies that had what seemed like laser-cut foam in their boxed sets, which IMO are the same thing. I'm not going to judge either company based on this squabble (yet). However, I have in the past seen some quite childish on-line antics from the BF owner while he's been acting in an official capacity. That alone is probably not helping his case in the eyes of some gamers.
  17. But then doesn't the wording of other rules come into effect as well? I believe that anytime opposing models are one another's melee range, they are considered in melee (doesn't say that strikes have to be made to be considered "in melee"). And the disengaging rules state that you check for the parting strike once leaving the melee range of an opposing model. To me, this reads similar to the rule in GW's Lord of the Rings game where each model has a control zone around it, and you can't just travel through it at will (which makes sense, even if not so much for flyers). Seriously, if an enemy flies past you, you're going to try and take a swipe at it if you can. But I am still new at this game, so could be very wrong!
  18. Thanks for the step-by-step ad photos; it is helpful to those of us thinking about getting some of the Hirst Arts molds. Love the work!
  19. Sure. If it's an aggressive player, use their mobility against them by luring them into a location where you can surround them (and be sure to concentrate attacks on tough models like the nephs). If your opponent is more patient with his flyers, then do your best to take some models with decent ranged attacks in your crew, and position yourself in places where you can concentrate fire, preferably with cross-fire (but be sure to have models supporting one another or else they'll just fly out of the way and take you down one by one). And remember: flying and floating provide better mobility, but each model still has a limit to the distance they can move. Position yourself accordingly, especially being cautious with beatsticks like Nephilim. If you need some ranged help, consider hiring a merc or two like the convict gunslinger or Hans. Are these tactics foolproof? No way. Can they work? Yes, but it helps if you have a feel for your opponent's style of play and what models and tactics they will likely use.
  20. Aw, I'm just bitter because I'm getting too old and busy to keep track of rules anymore.
  21. If they are going to be releasing new books before a revised rule book, I would like to see all current errata and FAQ printed in each one. Sure, it's easy to print it from the website but to be honest, IMO at least, if they insist upon such a multi-layered style of rules (which I do like) they should take more time to play test new books before releasing them. Even in the family game market, where rules are much simpler, games are given much more time to play test. Unfortunately, the adventure game industry seems reluctant to take more time to do this even though adventure games really need it (of course, that could be because us gamers want new goodies, and we want them now! lol)
  22. Flying models are not a new concept in wargaming. Sure, it provides significant mobility, but there are always tactics to counter mobility.
