  1. I guess there's at least one thing to say that hasn't been said. I'm going to need a much stronger pair of reading glasses or a bigger magnifying glass ?
  2. Thanks another quick read of the rules and I found it. Yes, it is a big change but I actually like it a lot...it makes "bluffing" a little more critical.
  3. Ok, for those who are looking that MTG is Magic the Gathering and not the subject of my query. We played our first game of M2E this evening and really like some of the changes and are rather confused on a few others. Both of us are avid 1.5 players so this may have added to the problems. Here is the scenario and I'm sorry if I'm getting some of the names or stats wrong. I am trying to cast obey on one of my opponents models. I have a CA of 4 (no suit) and have a TN 14 (mask). I flip a 6 (ram) and my opponent looks at me at says; "you fail", I agree but shouldn't my opponent be flipping as well? I see this as a big change to the rules and one I'm confused on. So my total is 10 but not successful. My opponent WP 4 (no suit) flips a 2 and is thereby losing but again I haven't successfully cast the spell. Does he then decide to cheat? Should he say no and I cheat fate with an 11 mask from my hand, does he now have another opportunity to cheat fate? Man, this reads poorly I'm sorry if this isn't clear but it seems like a very big change to the rules. Thanks for any insight.
  4. I guess I look at this a bit differently. I have enjoyed the game for many years now, in fact it is hands down my favorite game. I have no regrets on my purchase of a great game and the older book will always have a hallowed place on my shelves. The new edition is a great idea and will hopefully breathe life into an already great game. Like others have said the vast majority of the specific rules are available on the cards themselves. While I wait for ME2 and all it's goodness I am still playing 1.5 and can easily switch between one or the other while I wait for the rules on certain minis to be released. I personally like the vast majority of changes in the beta. In the meantime I can work on my painting.
  5. It depends, Von Shill is pretty straightforward and offers some good options. Yan Lo is fairly complex and requires some prior planning. My humble opinion but I like them both. Pick the crew you like best and either way you should be happy. P.S. I'm an avid gremlin fan as well
  6. Thanks all, it was a PW question and your answers help.
  7. My son and I played several games over the weekend and have come to the conclusion that Bette may be broken... Can anyone share a weakness on her or better yet how do you kill her?? (I know she's already "dead") but I hope you know what I mean. Thanks
  8. Thanks, that makes it very clear.
  9. Ok, played too much Malifaux and not enough PW. This may be a simple question so sorry if it's been asked/answered before. When can I "play" a card from my hand? I'm looking at pg 19 and I think it's clear. Any time I preform an action I can "play" a card from my hand. Is that true? What if I play an ace from my hand? Thanks
  10. I think it would be a most unfortunate trend for the folks at Wyrd to get into a habit where playable miniatures were only available to those few that made it to a convention or were willing to pay the ridiculous prices on ebay. That said I love the idea of an alternate sculpt or something like that for those lucky few that could make it I also hope that Victoria, the Hooded Riders, Teddy and Lucious will available someday, if not I think I will be most disappointed in the good folks at Wyrd.
  11. Sorry no pic on Kirai avatar but to answer your other questions Puppet Wars is an absolute blast!
  12. That's such a cool thing to say and probably just what I needed to hear. I ordered the rulebook and Perdita, time to start painting. I drove up and back to Chicago last weekend to drop off my son at school and as I drove through Indianapolis I couldn't help but think about all the great times there. I'll be there next Aug for sure!
  13. Thanks, I promise to make it down to Tampa sooner than later. I need some idea of what a good starting force would comprise of. I like them all. How do you all like the rules? I am very intrigued by the card system. Talk to you soon, Magnus PS Yes I missed you all at Gencon as well.
  14. Hi all, Long time gamer, you name it I probably played it. I recognize some names from my old NACORD days. Just checking out the game, have seen and loved the miniatures but don't own any yet. Cheers all Magnus
