In what way is df5 and 10 wounds almost unkillable. She has to hit stuff and get a trigger to heal and with ml5 that reduces your effective cards if you want a heal.Â
If you want to waste the stones on her then be my guest but with her and the emissary you are cutting down your crew potential and whilst malifaux generally doesn't score you for killing (depending on strats and schemes) if you kill your opponents crew they can't score anyway
There is a reason you don't see ama on the board and that's because she sucks. If you want a scheme runner then go for the faster and even harder to kill but cheaper midnight stalker

yeah wendigo is cool, mine has a current record of 2 pandoras, seamus, bishop and lilith as models eaten
-
Having used this crew a 2nd time i really think this is a great crew going forwards
-
With a 12" drop for markers this isn't difficult and with well rehearsed and the medical automaton he's actually possibly faster. Add in he has a possible 3 pushes with one of them needing no cards I found he was more useful than my bear ( I swapped cojo in for 1 bear so still had 1)
-
Just used the list but with a well rehearsed cojo. Cojo is much better for this than the bears I think due to his auto push if set up right and all his push triggers if needed on his melee. Admittedly mostly use the ml7 attack then followed up with his 0 but he killed Francisco and a guild investigator and nearly had lady J too

Maybe not seeing it but df6 with no defensive tech dies easily (misaki always did before Marlena arrived and she has positives).
Willing to be proved wrong but with the new upgrade I would put von Schill ahead of Parker and I class misaki higher too

Here is a trick. I do not want to repeat my experience from another wargame "You must lose about 30 times and then you could start winning". What I learn about malifaux, is that in addition you have to had almost all models from your faction to answer all potential threats and missions. Am I correct?
And thank you for answer.Â
Learning curves all depend on the player, if you pick it up quick enough and are experienced in other games you will not take as long to start winning (i came 2nd in my 2nd ever tourney).
As for needing all the models, no you dont. I have alot of outcasts but still dont have some of the models others say to pick (like nothing beast or hannah) but I am doing well this year in my year of outcasts.- 1

Do you know a lot about Russian meta and its competitiveness?
Have you played many games with Parker?
Hope we meet at ITC next year, I’ll show you some style.Â
no i dont, always cool to play new people though.
have only played parker once and that in a friendly, probably because most people dont rate him as outcasts generally have better masters (he is considered the worst one i believe). he did get off to an early lead with scheme marker shenanigans but then died very quickly with no issues after that for me. would be good to play against a veteran parker player but still dont see what he brings over other masters or to get him to top table.

Well I’ve won tournament games at top tables using both, so yeah, probably worst in faction.Â
lol Russian Meta, doubt you would use either anywhere else and certainly not top table with them
-
She has other uses. Card manipulation is nice and ca9 whilst standing on the centre line plus card draw. I like her but she is easy to take down. Should probably be a 7ss model
-
I must be odd then as I get great use out of bishop and taelor bringing at least 1 and sometimes both in most crews.Â
Some time use from Lazarus but he often doesn't do alot.
Sue is our best enforcer but others have their places
Edit: out of 16 currently built outcast crews I only have 4 that don't have either taelor or bishop and 3 of my crews have both of them 😀

A gunline you could try is as follows. All fairly capable in melee too and vanessa can command lazarus so they tens to operate close together. Can also swap out Vanessa for Marlena as Lazarus could then copy her attack:
Declared Faction: OutcastsÂ
Crew Name: levi 50ssÂ
Leader: Leveticus - Cache:(3)
  Desolate Soul 2ssÂ
  Tally Sheet 1ssÂ
  Untimely Demise 1ssÂ
Hollow Waif 0ssÂ
Hollow Waif 0ssÂ
Rusty Alyce 10ssÂ
  Desolate Soul 2ssÂ
Sue 8ssÂ
  Return Fire 1ssÂ
Lazarus 10ssÂ
  Scout the Field 1ssÂ
Vanessa 8ssÂ
Hodgepodge Effigy 4ssÂ

it is quite easy to go to events with fixed crews so in no way is this pay to win
IÂ have won 3 events with fixed and podiumed plus done well in others, even came in the top half of a nationals using fixed crew mei feng all weekend (and believe I would have come higher if I didnt face the same opponent twice at the end of the sunday)
-
I rarely play with pariah.have used bone since wave 5 for kentauroi but even then most my crews are full outcast
-
I dont think Nico is that bad, he just requires more corpse markers to do what he did before (and doesnt get 25% of the deck to counter any weakness)

Being the number one gild pick is hardly the greatest achievement in the game
I dunno, Lady J is really good and have faced some nasty Lucius crews. But Nellie like Sandeep in arcanists is just too good at everything to ever not be picked by guild players, and in alot of other factions she would also be the top pick. She is very much on a par with Sandeep in power level
-
think the nico change is over the top, undertaker was needed but not the summoning.
sandeep changes I am happy with, although now I have to guess more what an arcanist opponent will bring instead of building for nico.
where are changes to nellie? as same reasoning behind sandeep effects her, shes is far and away the number one guild pick

Speaking as someone who played first edition, they already have simplified malifaux with some of these concepts. I think it survived ok. The depth of malifaux is not based on the complexity of the rules.
Whilst true we don't want to go too far thoughÂ
Apart from some timing issues and vantage points I think malifaux is in a good place
-
Whoever is in the right place at the right time for me.

well ToS sounds interesting but not for me. Just hope that they dont simplify malifaux with some of these concepts

you have to vary them up a bit. ashes and dust can be useful in certain strats but hes pointless in 3 of them (ply, public executions and ours).
but yes Levi is competitive as I have mostly been using him this year (with occasional misaki). I have so many lists for different scenarios though I cant really post them all. I have started used kentauroi more often (can even transport A&D) and almost always have sue in the crew. other regulars are alyce, taelor and bishop depending on strats and schemes.Â
Â
-
easy enough using Levi and summoners have pretty good advantages although it does mean nico has to change his summoning engine and sandeep cant use his mages all the time

I have started adding it to Df6 models recently. has really helped mei feng get use out of her defensive trigger

Granted our community is tiny, but we generally agree before the game if we're going to play on practice or tournament speed.
Practice speed: We're taking our time, trying out new stuff and carefully considering our moves. We end the game when either player has to, or when the game is over. Takes around 2-5 hours of gaming.
Tournament speed: Game has to be done in 3 hours.
tournament speed 3 hours? 2 is the max I have seen for this.
I think if a game took 5 hours I wouldnt play that person again. even on vassal which generally takes longer to play games I havent seen one go past about 2.5 hours.

Our worst models
in The Outcasts
Posted
Kill them and scheme later seems to work for me in most my games.
Also unless you double focus, or focus and stone or have built in pos and either focus or stone then need to do the 6 damage in the one hit the stalker is much harder to take down than a df5 10 wound henchmen with any amount of stones. Also the stalker can never be tied down unlike your ml5 df5 henchman.
Potential is your crews abilities to do stuff and spending 10ss on the probably the worst outcast henchman is lowering your crews potential. A henchman that can be tied up by most minions in the game that cost half it's price even if they don't kill it.
If you want definitions look in a dictionary but ama wouldn't fit in effective or potential 😜 it's why you don't see her at all.
