  2. I have a question regarding irreducible damage against hoffmans temper steel buff.

    hoffmans buff says: Temper Steel:Friendly Construct only.Target Heals 1 and until the End Phase, its Armor Ability cannot be ignored.

    there are rules that ignore armour, such as: Armor Piercing:When resolving, damage from this Action ignores Armor.

    and specific weapons that state they ignore armour and in these cases hoffmans buff would work but what about against irreducible damage? As written I believe that irreducible damage still cant be reduced by armour as its not ignoring the armour as such.

    Not a difficult change. If they release the current one I can  update base sizes if there is already an option for that size

  5. its actually not too expensive for a 50 scrip army in this. A starter box, 2nd commander and a couple of squads and you have it. thats all I have (unless they resize the dreadnought). Its just finding players is difficult, same as malifaux so vasaal really helps to keep me playing between tourneys

  6. With cover and concealment then shooting isn't great so needs something to make it useful.

    If someone is in concealment or engaged then alyce either has to concentrate or use a soul stone to negate it and so this really reduces her output.

    If you combine alot of resources like 18ss of other models then yes she should be more difficult to take down but I don't see this as an issue as it requires those resources to be hanging around near her.

    Or of course engage her and she becomes stat 5 2/3/5 attack which is pretty poor

    also if she loses the gun then she will; never see play as she lost decent melee and her anti charge aura

  7. I dont think any of our masters fit the standard. Usually for a 2nd master people bring a utility, summoning or beater master.

    Von Schill is our utility master - he got nerfed to not be useful outside of freikorps
    Viks are our beater masters - not going to pay for 2 of them and alone they die too easily i think
    Tara - our summoning master? her summons are not great

  8. I do think his gun needed to ignore hard to wound as well like it always did as a 2/3/4 isn't really that scary.

    I do miss the mobility of Levi, as he could weaken stuff or run schemes happily.

    Also miss Alyces no charge aura that everyone else seems have ended up with instead. 

    Aboms were a never hire in 2e but were at least annoying. now they are still never hire and not even annoying.

  9. Oh yeah,meant hard to wound. And yeah dont know anyone who would hire one. I own 8 but will probably be lucky to use 1 or 2 a game as random summons as a consequence of other actions. 

    I guess the terrifying is ok for deso engine.with df3 and using his wounds as a resource I would have liked him to be able to use the htk upgrade

    Amalgan became really good with the final update. Hollow waifs are still single-purpose models, but you get them for free. It's a shame that there are only 2 having 3 really nice models.

    The beta was over 4 weeks ago too. 

    Just have to wait and see but currently nobody will hire an abom. If you get them as incidental summons then fine but they wont get hired

Still wouldnt hire Aboms as even with htk they dont actually do anything and still have victim stats. with stat 4 I guess they can hit other victims, but these tend to be free totems. again I think they need the tome built in on df (still doubtful if would hire) which is same as deso engine.  Anyone else any ideas on what to do to make these worth hiring?

    not sure about deso engines new change. 1 higher terrifying, hes still df3. would have to see it played out.

    scavengers, meh 6ss for tools for the job, and maybe a decent trigger off their once per turn weird device. I guess they have to be expensive because of the fast in there on a crow.

  12. Aboms are never hires, they've victim stats and maybe should be 3ss. Scavengers are maybe situational but dont see them anytime. Maybe aboms should have defensive triggers built in so at least they do something when they die. Waifs as well probably

    Essence transfer should probably be a bonus action and aetheric healing should probably be a straight heal flip instead of discard.

    Well without that the deso engine is crap and this keyword got worse.

    My Levi crew tends to be:

    Levi
    2x waifs
    Alyce - 9
    Nothing beast - 10
    Taelor- 10
    Emissary - 10
    Johan - 8
    Cache 3

  14. Would have been nice if levis ranged attack stayed at 7 but that's unlikely this edition.

    Do agree that the healing is rubbish in this crew.

    Aboms will never be hired, they are summons only as will die if anything looks at them.

    Deso engine needs an upgrade for hard to kill so is basically a 12ss model to make it any good.

    Tbh when building my crew I tend to take Levi and Alyce and then use other models from the faction to flesh the crew out as there is not alot I would want to play in amalgam.

    The Royal Rifle core in glory does something different. It doesn't change the type of the attack, what it does is give you permission to ignore the rule that says you can't use :ToS-Range: while engaged. So it can still do it as volley fire.

    which is why I think this needs clarifying in an FAQ as I can see people coming down on both sides of this argument

    Depends on intentions i guess as obviously all kings empire can use :rangedwhilst engaged but with a penalty and the problem is wyrd dont always like to add extra sentences if they think we can figure the intention

    I can see where you are coming from and so I think this does need clarification as it could be looked at both ways but for me (and I think majority of others) this would still be a no

    And that's the issue, an assumption. You assume that, I assume that it makes use of the allegiance ability but without the penalty.
