  1. Asami would be the top of Thunders if the rest were not so good. Her crew basically getting constant + flips to attack and damage is really powerful and even the obsidian oni demise ability is pretty good.

in theory yes using + all thew time would get them to disappear but in the games I have used her and the games I have played her a model only disappears when I want it to either for demise or to go full out and none of my big beaters have ever gone full out enough to do this as yet when combined with Asamis ability to take flicker from them and if they kill something it goes down too

  2. As said he would have no problem hitting teddy anyway so injured really doesnt matter.

Consider incorporeal models too as butterfly jump on them can make it easy to get away.

You knew your opponent was titania, you know to expect severe terrain and lots of it, so counter build - flight, incorp, planted roots, unimpeded all helps. Bring in the emissary and put down your own markers that his crew doesnt ignore. You already had 2 models that do markers they don't ignore.

Think shes bad wait until you face zoraida

  3. well her damage track can be good but generally on negative damage its a weak of 2. against teddy this becomes 1. yes she adds injured from 8" away as well but teddy is only df4 anyway and all you have to do is get within 5 and its a negative, so match her cards, dreamer has more deck manipulation than titania does.

on chompy you can burn through stones to make sure of negatives if you cant hit the higher numbers and titania is not going to constantly hit into the thorns (mine rarely does).

meanwhile what is the rest of your crew doing whilst all this is going on? they are allowed to activate too, and if aeslin and titania are in their 8" range then they are also in range for bend reality even if you cant get to them for melee or the bandersnatch can bury in one of them and suddenly they are getting injured too. bandersnatch and widow weaver are a great mobile team as well and can put threats out there, even pushing things away and then placing webs which will slow aeslin even if doesnt slow titania.

play more games, learn your crews strengths and weaknesses and your opponents. its really not as bad as it seems at first

  4. well considering malifaux vassal has caused me £200 worth of purchases thanks to playing around and ToS is pretty much dead we need something to get the interest rolling - come on wyrd, even if not the finished product we have people who can fix it

People complained about alpha strikes in M2E. M3E was supposed to take this away for the most part. M3E is supposed to be less damaging and more of an equalizer. To be honest, this just shouldn't be able to be done with only 3 models invested.

If only the markers were the only terrain, the models did not block movement and everyone had flying. If only Titania didn't have a Free Action which moves 1-2 of those markers and also deals damage. You do know that Injured makes it extremely easy to hit things and she gets a + to attack to rub it in even more, right?

Find me an Action in the entire game which is stronger than this one. I'll wait. Titania is possibly one of the strongest models in the entire game due to how overloaded that one single action is. There is 99.9% no case to be made to even consider using her melee attack action. It really feels like this action should have a gun symbol on it to add some sort of balance to it.

I'll stay in my final 3" of the deployment zone, that'll teach her! My model was close to 14" away from her and she still managed to pull in into combat while dealing close to half it's Health in damage AND giving Injured despite using stones to block damage. She deals a ton of damage, has a pseudo-Lure AND makes it trivial for any model to hit all in a single Action, which she can use up to 3 times in an Activation.

It's hard to score something if your models are all dead. In order to score for the reveal of Take Prisoner, no enemy models are allowed to be within 4" of the chosen model. That's a slight problem when walking up means instant doom and certain death.

Titania herself can kill most normal models in a single Activation, Aeslin stands in the back firing Injured Blasts and Killjoy can go solo and kill a model there as well. Killjoy is not a problem, but you have to kill him several time for it to stick pr he comes back via Blood Sacrifice.

Aeslin and Titania handing out Injured like sweet candy and still doing a boatload of damage at thesame time might be too much. Remember when people complained about Zoraida being able to stack Injured via the Doll, so they only allowed the doll to hand out 1 Injured? This is getting close to thesame, except dealing more damage.

Killing Titania is rather hard as she can use stones, has HtW, Cruel Disappointment and Life Leech. She can, if needed, swap out some damage for Healing on her Triggers as well. Aeslin is in the back, so you generally shouldn't be able to reach her unless the opponent messes up or has some sort of trap set up in which he baits you to go for her.

Dreamer has viable shooting too, but he has a gun symbol. He also can't ignore Concealing and Cover. His damage track is lower, but that's because he ignores Armor and Incorporeal, which is a fair trade. He can choose Df or Wp to shoot on, but he generally likes Wp due to being able to get his summons out that way.

Look at the amount of stones killed via those Actions. In 2 Turns he kills Teddy (10 stones), Chompy (8 stones), Stitched (6 stones) and 2x Alp (10 stones) for a grand total of 34 stones. He spent about 20 Actions on it thanks to some other models also helping out. That's close to 2 stones per AP spent in value, which is insane.

What did I do? First an entire Turn to even get in range, because not everyone can place models up to 10". Then I tried to go for an attack with multiple models in order to somehow get some failed WP duels to get my summons out. Eventually Coppelius went MVP with his TN13 Pulse, but that was for a part because my opponent already knew the game was over. Teddy and LCB were already dead at this point in time and all I got was Teddy killing an Autumn Knight. Who could have guessed models become fodder once they reach 0 Df and Wp due to Injured?

Your solution to the problem is staying out of range. You can't play Malifaux properly if you're not allowed to move outside of your deployment zone. In order to score schemes, you have to move ever so slightly and you can't entirely give up the First Turn because they could potentially move a bit forward and Place you into their army. No matter how far you are, Titania can and will be able to get you.

You feel like the guy defending M2E Nicodem and first week M3E Kirai. If the counterplay is to not play against a certain Master, perhaps there might be a problem with said Master?

well you might as well just quit then because its obviously broken - can I have your stuff 😂

seriously, 1 unprepared game isnt enough. she really isnt that good, but now you are just coming across all whiney.
know that she is bringing terrain, bring flight or incorporeal models. you talk about broken but stitched can do a 3/4/5 damage track they can guarantee will go off. dreamer can stack his deck etc. this is why top players are playing dreamer and zoraida in Nvb as card manipulation is king

Hot Take opinion I mostly kept to myself due to not having a lot of experience against him, and now have a small basis for thinking is Justified because of results at Muse on Con. Jakob is busted. Tanuki are worse for the game in this edition than belles were in 2e.

Jacob is not justified by muse on con results, top players and some rules played wrong by what I heard anyway. hes ok but there are ways and means.

Asamis Oni are lethal with easy access to plus flips for attack and damage.

mccabe puts out far too many simple duels per turn (didnt need built in rear up trigger).

yan lo, I havent figured how to beat yet.

in general I feel TT are going to be hit biggest by the nerf bat when we get to an errata as they were not tested enough and it shows

  7. well nekima has alot more healing than regen. auras for healing when they would take black blood, so those 1 damage blasts basically do nothing if bunched up. eat corpses for more healing and also allowing growth. pushes, fly with me, flight itself, all upgrade minion abilities on a mature neph.

Titania is good, but she can easily be beaten too, just requires different play style than running straight at them. consider hard to wound models, also regen and armour teddy is great. her crew tends to cap out at range 8 and you have widow weaver and bandersnatch who are far more mobile. consider throwing summoned alps at them (people do fail terrifying alot, especially late turn when no cards in hand), or stitched and when the stitched dies that dreamer summoned, summon another off its scrap with widow weaver.

honestly it just seems like a bad game, the game is new and has alot of gotcha moments at the moment and I have reacted similarly after a game but then have a rant and go look at ways to beat it.

  8. just sounds like 1st time playing it. you will overcome dont worry, just play more.

if you had read his cards you might have seen more and countered as you have some very good models in the crew yourself. plus things like lucid dreams, or daydreams that ignore armour and can attack wp or df (so great against autumn knights. summoning in stiched etc

try playing some more and learning from mistakes and hopefully realise that titania is definitely not the worst offender :D

After making a crew, soley devoted to lucid dreaming, I'd have to say it's not op, but needs careful watching when new nightmare units are released.

My crew was dreamer, chompy, 3x daydreams, 3x stitched, serena, and 1 alp. By middle of turn 3, there was a notable difference. My opponent was struggling to hit just my daydreams to shut down my lucid dreaming. By the end of the game, which ended in a tie, I had removed 24 cards. I have never in my many games of malifaux, 2e and 3e, had that many severe damage flips. It felt awesome to play, but I struggled with scheming since he just cut off my various groups of models, terrain, etc. All in all, not op, but its very snowbally towards later turns where you just start flipping non stop high cards.

You have just painted a big target on chompy though and cant see that crew doing well in alot of strats/schemes combos.  interesting but dont think overpowered.

I’m sorry if you are arguing Alyce isn’t worth her stones then whatever you are comparing her to needs to be nerfed into the ground.

Decently survivable, especially considering how dmg ratings have blanketed gone down. Terrain creation abilities. An attack action with stat 6, min 3, and high moderate and severe dmg ranges, as well as the ability to attack 3 times, useful bonus actions... that is far above the standard 10ss model in most factions.

What would you argue a 10ss model should have if you argue Alyce isn’t worth her stones because I would argue 90%+ of the high SS cost model in the game won’t come close to what you argue 10ss needs to have.

Which is a problem. I think the fact that they allowed a few models which break their pricing structure in are going to warp their keyword hiring. Archie for example is so far over the line I can’t honestly see how they even thought his current version is fair. And it doesn’t matter that others pay a tax for him because even at 10stones he’s better than all other models at that price point. And all you need is one model over the line to crowd out all others.

nope I am saying she is worth her stones. as for 3 attacks, that wont happen very often as people get to melee quickly or use cover and concealment, so shooting is not as powerful as melee models that easily get 3+ attacks.  her bonus action is only useful if enemy gets close to her, which if using the 12" range isnt always going to be the case
not sure how you think damage ratings have gone down as I have entire min 3 damage crews too, so her survivability isnt that good. df5 and arm1 is fine, but not great.
Archie yes, he hits hard, and is mobile, but he also crumples if you dedicate it (and you have to) 1 or 2 decent beaters. he could maybe be 10 but I dont think so with df/wp 4 so again think hes ok where he is

  11. I mean if you want to spend 15ss on the combo of alyce and a scavenger then go for it, but the scavenger is an easy kill and alyce isnt much more difficult. except now they will mention marlena too, so thats gone upto 23ss to protect and fire a min 3 gun, possibly 2 times per turn 😂

  12. Whilst I enjoy S&S and appreciate their work its entertainment and theoryfaux for most part.

Alyce really isnt that good. Compared to other 9ss models shes ok, but she is not the big bad killer people make her out to be.

You still have to hit, even with all that work, and hope to get a negative at most if focused.

I dont think she is worth 10ss, so many better models. Also arik isnt blah, hes a killer (I have had far more work out of arik than I have had out of alyce) and harder to take down than alyce. And to lose her min 3 you would never see her.

Far more stuff out there that's worse and does more without being as easy to negate.

We will see, but I really do wish the loudest people would stop complaining about a model that is not that good or we get nerfs forced on us like 2e that came from loudest complaints.

As I said, primarily a Levi player and shes not that good. I even have 1 levi crew without her at all. Useful but not a 10ss model in the slightest (not one of my other outcast crews use her).

If she does get nerfed or ss increased then she gets replaced with sue who's basically min 3 and sometimes 4 anyway, plus 17" effective range

You do realise that this is completely random and doesn't have anything to do with Lucid Dream as a skill in any way, shape or form, right?

You do realise I had this happen in a game, saw it on lucid dream every turn so never got to use a RJ all game and its more of a joke, hence the sad face when you realise you will never see it. I know how the crew works and card mechanic surprisingly 😜 .  However the more you use lucid dream the more likely the good cards will pass you by.

  14. 29 minutes ago, Tors said:

That might be the problem. Fiendish Gamble doesn't work like cheating, you have to decide to use it before flipping any cards and it's limited to once per activation. In Addition if you remove all those bad cards you don't have the high ones for the stiched. You seem to argue from a perfect Position: Dreamer removed basically all weak cards from the deck, while maintaining a steady supplys of 13s for gambling sticheds which are always in range and easily resummon and unbury new ones while your crew doesnt succed in much and loses duels. But it doesn't play out this way. What die you play and what S&S? Instead of venting over enemy models, maybe we can show you some options

agreed, I played against dreamer recently with von schill and it really didnt come up much at all. admittedly VS does have alot of armour amongst his crew but I found dreamer fairly easy to play against if hes trying summoning and lucid dreams as his main tactic

Yep the rule thing is cool. I have always purchased the books from Wyrd to sustain the development work and IP (I never used any copy or shared books with others).

The special order things is cool also and very thoughtful of Wyrd. I like the new bundle packaging.

I started the topic on crewboxes only and the price has indeed risen, even for existing boxes. However, some posters also noted that crewboxes excepted, some prices had decreased.

    My original complaint was:

_ Stuff that have existed for a long time and for which the original production investment has been amortized (or at least I hope for Wyrd) have seen their price risen. I am more used to seeing rises in price going along with resculpts (and resculpts being far superior to the former minis - see below). I understand inflation and all but this still does not make sense to me (I am a Kaizen kind of guy).

_ Much more subjectively: New stuff that I find less appealing than before (or at least less innovative in terms of sculpts and probably easier to mould than many M2E stuff) being more (or as) expensive than the older bolder stuff was. The new minis are imho inferior to the former ones.

So overall, I have a feeling of a stagnation or a downgrade in Wyrd's minis along with a price increase for the newer sculpts and some older crewboxes.

    Hence my discomfort.

But it seems that I am in the minority about this so everything is fine for Wyrd :D.

Even existing products require materials and labour and as wages go up and materials go up then prices have to match.

I am with you on not liking new models  but again they require design work and moulds.

Plus let's not forget all the time put into  new rules etc require staff who do require to eat/pay bills etc

I mean, I don't think they're meant to "last"  as summoned models. they're cannon fodder, cause they are kinda blah models (if hired).  In my mind, a summoned model that becomes a priority kill for my opponent, and thus is eating AP, from an Enforcer or some schemer runners, is a win.  That IS their accomplishment.  If they get to active, even better.

As far as his hiring pool drastically shrinking, it does really suck, espcially after investing sizable amount of money into those models.  However, for a Health-of-Game state, it was impossible to leave it anywhere near as large as M2e was; the balancing is much more practical now.  Aboms are summon fodder. I don't think they're worth hiring, unless you intend to turn them into a Des oEngine right away (which I don't think is worth it, but thats a conversation for another time)  I think there are a ton of great models for Levi (A&D, Marlena, Rusty ((WHO IS INSANE AND I LOVE HER)), Scanvger) and even Hans or Stalker or Emissary bring a lot to him as Versitale models.  I also think the Freikorps Enigneer is good for LEvi, woth the +1 Keyword Tax, due to her Construct Heal + Shielding, which is just more ways to keep Rusty and her brokeass gun healthy and murdering people.

what is this issue with Rusty?  really do you people not play on boards with terrain or get into melee quicker? I have used her alot as Levi is my primary and she does the occasional good turn but usually by turn 2 everything is in melee or concealing etc so she will maybe put out 1 focused shot a turn.
Without that gun would anyone ever bring her for 9ss? I would rather then bring Sue or something else

  17. I will say that my use of lucid dreams in my last game, every turn I lost my RJ as it was one of the 3 flipped so there is a downside to it as well. flipping multiple severes, all get discarded (unless have a stitched) whilst one is removed from the game. so this version does have its drawbacks.

Yup, you're right, that's all that goes into developing and running a company - we should probably just go ahead and price those at cost and put them out there. 😐

Not to mention warehouse/office, development, design, packaging, print, labor, shipping, hardware/computers - and the assumption all of which have somehow miraculously not increased over the years, much less the tariffs, trades - etc.

How very dare you try to make a living and successful business out of this game, dont you know we expect all our toys for free 😂😂😂😂

Guys, I dont think anyone has room to complain when the rules and cards are being released for free online. Remember Wyrd is a business and is there to make money as well as actually provide a wage for its employees. We are not in a cheap hobby and prices do have to rise sometimes
