  1. Ok About time I got dirty with the TCR. Jess from Hasslefree. Coolmini link
  2. Would that be just Bradford, England or the planet. I want to go to New Zealand and live in one of those Hobbit holes. They look nice and quaint. As long as those bloody orcsies keep away. Whats it like here. Bloody cold and frosty. Went next door for a drink last night to welcome the new house owners. Yup. Durham Mafia have moved in.
  3. Oh ifyou want a good fight movie and also laugh till you piss yourself then get Kung Fu Hustle
  4. Best movie I have seen recently is Sin City More of a work of art than a movie and I think it will be right up your "odd" mind. Older movies that blew me away at the cinema.... Jurassic Park......(the first one. Others are ok and well watchable but the first is best) Saving Private Ryan........beach landing at the start is pure adrenline rush. LOTR trilogy........the extended versions though, there is a big difference IMHO. These films are perfect and there isnt one thing bad about them at all.
  5. I saw some of that Scott and amazing it was. Have to say though they could have used a more "normally" endowed male model. Unless "normal" is 10 inches slack. @Artshiraz Not so much a big deal on creafigs just a few were saying it was shit based on the belief I did it to put women down. It ended up OK though and got me talking with a few of the French guys. I had to explain it was all in the look of the female figure. Sort of looks like he is in control until you see her face then you realise she is the boss.
  6. There is a chance that this is a total scam by him in which he nets £2-50 for every bad sale. I say refund the money he sent you. Ask for a full refund from him or very negative feedback will be left as the figure was not securely packaged for the price and you will inform ebay. A figure should at least be in a Jiffy. And for gods sake watch those postage fee scam bastards.
  7. I cant say I have any preference at all apart from not liking "sloppy" paintjobs. Myself I try to get some realism into figures. A while back I was starting to do colour reflections on metalic and polished surfaces but it just didnt show in the photos very well. Subtle stuff like hints of colours reflected from clothing and sutch. I also played with putting veins on skin before the final layers which was overlooked. I have startes doing that again on the butcher Im working on as these days Im more in it for the fun of the art than the cmon rating. I do like to see passion in painting as well as sculpts. Thats what started off the bad feeling with me and Natalya when she and Eric posted the Dragyri Wails I think it was. Erics had the water reflection. Anyway I said that while Natalyas was technically perfect there just seemed to be no "feeling" in it while Erics looked like days of care and attention was put into every loving stroke of the brush. I like to see thought put into things and not just paint on lead and its something I try to get across.
  8. Theres a guy who lives in our town who had an unfortunate accident with a cement mixer which left him quite brain damaged. He is OK but could quite possibly look like the most eccentric person in the world. Great guy, always chatty and very quick witted, albeit VERY odd. Anyway one day me and my mates (yes I did have some) were walking down the street and Ronnie ( the odd guy ) walks past and says hello. So I say "alright Ronnie hows things" and he replies. "Better than a sharp stick in the eye. Not that Ive had a sharp stick in the eye. But I can imagine."
  9. I think there is a lot of stigma around the use of a swastika. I know why and fully understand people see it as a symbol of torture and suffering but to me it is just another symbol......of Egyptian origin I believe. Should the Union Jack not be seen in the same light for the suffering our Empire has caused over the centuries. Or the Stars and Stripes for that matter. Now Jim. If you were to paint up a WW2 guy with a Swastika you will get some ummers and arrers but its historical accuracy so OK in my opinion. If you do an alternate WW2 guy the same there will be more upset. If you do a WW2 guy covered in Swastikas and torturing a very thin naked guy then a lot of people will be upset. I think common sense has to be used in things like this. A painter or photographer is allowed to use scenes of Nazi torture etc so why cant we ?? Just a thought. You know that Narg and Gayle piece I did. There was a discussion on Creafigs concerning the morals of the painter (me) and why I got kicks out of representing violence towards women. WTF I think there is a lot of personal taste involved in judging morallity.
  10. Anything goes as far as I am concerned. It is up to the artists to decide whether it is morally OK for them as it is with the buyer. I like those nuns with guns.
  11. I like the idea of rule supplements to go with the figures. I think that will be popular and help sales.
  12. I will join the ranks of the furry critter fans too. Nice work Cindy. I find these very original. Details are sharp and they are small and cute. Im pretty much so so on the rest though which is pretty much the consensus around here. Some are just plain ugly to me and some are nicely done but uninspiring. I will definitely be getting the furry critters . @Brimshank What really puts me off I think is the amount of figures with lack of quality, whether its sculpt or concept. All seeming to be from different ranges. I think something more cohesive would be more attractive ( to me anyway ). BTW Best of luck.
  13. Whats this monochromatic thing then, just curious, I know this is about Wyrd comp. Yes there are loads of great entries in this one. One did stand out for me then it was a difficult choice. I put names to some too. Obvious painting styles.
  14. Thanks guys. Its much appreciated by total language idiots like me. I can barely speak my native tongue.
  15. For me its pretty much the overall look of the job. There is definitely more emphasis on painting though. I also like a good narrative in basing etc. Like some of the entries which are not technically perfect but look really good as a whole. On the 1 vote thing I thought at the time that it could end up with everyone voting the same first place then 2 and 3 could have 1 or 2 votes each. Yes a 3 vote system would be better. I jave to say though it was a great turn out. Just look at the cmon5 entries. About 10 or 12. And its the first one using this system so I will forgive Nathan this time but it better be bloody perfect for the next one.:peace:
  16. You mean you found some Tamiya clear red Scott. Sorry Ian I promise thats the last of the TCR jokes. Ive just finished Grant and its a great figure to paint.
  17. The tutorials look outstanding and a translation would be very well appreciated. Ive used online translaters but you know what they are like.
  18. Use google translate guys. It aint perfect but it gets the job done. Haeckel Jaeckel
  19. The trees look great diorama pieces. Dont forget you can get the harem columns and capitols seperate too.
  20. Some great stuff up for pre-order at HF. Gangsta Alice now Alyx is available along with multi part and multi pack dwarf Nain. Theres some excellent terrain pieces including a fab Harem scene by Forgeworlds Simon Harris. How about a sprue full of zombie hunter weapons. Chainsaw/ sawn off/ pump action/ pistol. And baseball bat/ hockey stick/ crow bar/ cricket bat. Go take a look, its worth it. Hasslefree
  21. I often wondered where he drew inspiration.:vb_tongue
