Burt's Slippery and pulses

Question

Quick question in regards to Burt's Slippery ability

Slippery: "When this model is targeted by an attack action, it may select a friendly model within 2" which is also a legal target to become the target instead. This model is immune to damage from :pulse effects"

Does the bolded part of slippery make Burt always immune to pulse effects or only when using the Slippery ability? Mainly was wondering in regards to him attacking a model with black blood.

Yes, the bolded part applies whether or not the first sentence is relevant.

It's the same way that Ikiryo's ability is written:

Quote

Kirai's Soul: This model may never be hired into a Crew. This model may only be summoned by the Malevolence Ability. This model is immune to Slow and Paralyzed.

The third sentence of Kirai's Soul isn't an interaction dependent on the first two sentences.

Some abilities are just written as grab bags to stuff a bunch of rules into.  :)
