New Player

Hello Guys,

I am a new player and was wondering if anyone would be able to teach me the ropes over vassal (I've read the rules). I was intrigued by this game ages ago but never got into it. I really like gremlins and overall I'm really excited to play and would love to become a part of the vassal community. I'm available tonight (is 5 PM here already.) and tomorrow throughout the day.  I'm in New York City and thats Eastern Daylight time.

Thanks in advance :D.

I generally don't have time for Vassal, but I can tell you that there is a most excellent club in Brooklyn and the Henchman that goes there is one of the best in the business, he's occasionally on these forums: Guy in Suit is his forum name. Here's a link to the club's Facebook page:

I would certainly encourage you to post there to try to get some real games in. Vassal is great, but nothing beats a real table.

I'd suggest myself, but I'm out in Suffolk...they're much closer to you. We also have a Facebook group that you should feel free to join if you ever plan on coming out to the island:

Welcome, and good luck.

Thanks haha I just started going to Nubrand and after seeing how many people play the game I decided to jump back in to malifaux (played like 2 games of 1st ed). I went last week but unfortunately got there a touch late and Guy in Suit was actually doing another intro game. I wanted to give vasal a try to learn and get better  quicker than I otherwise would.

I use to go to Stony Brook and loved my time playing magic at Brothers Grim. My family still lives on the island so I'm sure i'll make a trip out to Grim if you guys hold some event :D

Unfortunately, it's very unlikely that you could make it work. You do so much even during your opponent's activations that it would take far too long to finish even a single turn.

VASSAL is really good though and if you wanted to play by email because you didn't want to commit to a full game in one go, you can save the game and pick it back up later - it's how I play with my friend who introduced me.
