egoon
Here in Sweden we mostly play 3 round tournaments. (The largest tournament I'm aware of had 12 attendees). So in the new gaining grounds the strategies and deployments rotate depending on the time of year. And if you only play 3 round tournaments Reckoning will always be corner deployment, Stake a claim will always be standard and Reconnoiter will always be flank. Only turf war will change between Standard and close. If this is intended I think it's kind of boring. A simple way to fix this, and introduce more variety would be to skew the deployment cycle by two months. Making the periods for deployment: March through June, July through October, November through February.
Pierowmaniac
Personally If I was you I'd just ask your TO to change it up as there is nothing to stop them making alterations as they see fit anyway.
Hagisman
After listen to some people talk the design behind gaining grounds was pretty genius. Depending on deployment you can get the strategy easily. Close for Turf War. Standard for Recon. Close for Stake a Claim. Corner deployment really changes Recon. egoon
Pierowmaniac: Sure, I could do that, I'd just prefer it if it was standardised better... Hagisman: Sure. That's why it would be nice if they were different sometimes. Reconnoiter will be flank in May-Aug and flank Sept-Dec. I kinda wish it would be standard or close in one of the periods. Or even better if it was Corner for two months, then Standard, Flank and Close for two months each. Wishful thinking I know, but as it is currently, unless we have four round tournaments, three of the strategies will never change deployment type...
