  1. I made a video introducing new players to Through the Breach, please let me know what you think: https://youtu.be/1qTnAunesW8
  2. If anyone wants, I made a template for my M3E Model Tracker. You can select file then make a copy to copy it to your Google Drive: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1uCWl8cVT59CbKHFT65LY_45Bf1tCFxV6-1mDRj5tIfk/edit?usp=sharing I have an example in the Guild page if you are interested in using this. Known Issues: Soulstone Tracking not working - I tried using the LOOKUP function to locate the SS values of the models, but Soulstone Values don't exist for all models - Data entry takes a long time and I ended up only doing the Guild models since they are the ones I have the most of. Missing Limited Edition Models - Again I don't have a lot of time to look for every Limited Edition model that exists. Station tracking not working - I tried to test tracking how many Minions, Masters, Henchmen, and Enforcers you have as additional stats tracking, but that would require me to better understand the LOOKUP function, which I'm having trouble with. Additional Features: Add New Models - Can add to the lists in the lists sheet and the rest of the spreadsheets will automatically update.
  3. Given that there are a lot of people stuck at home. Is there an Official Vassal Module for The Other Side? Similar to the Malifaux one?
  4. I tried to Assassinate Sandeep and my opponent managed to get his health back up to full in one activation.
  5. No Prisoners upgrade also gives Run and Gun to minion models.
  6. I ran the Lone Marshal during a tournament the other week and had pretty good results with him. Took him out of faction with Hoffman twice and didn't regret it. Ruthless saved me on a lot of terrifying and manipulative. Run and Gun + his Long Carbine meant he was hitting things up to 21 inches away if terrain wasn't blocking him from his charge. Startle (Exorcism) was great against Sandeep. One shot an Ice Golem and still had movement/actions to get my Breakthrough point. Had I realized it earlier I would have been able to kill a Fire Golem as well. Df/Wp 6 is just great.
  7. Second Master in my meta seems to be a gentleman's agreement at the moment. At ArmourCon only me and my first round opponent chose to have 2 Masters, but that was because we both chose Hoffman and realized we both needed more Anti-Armor. But most of my meta prefer single master.
  8. The Armour Con results haven't been updated on the US Faux Tour rankings, but I think there was a Guild player who got either 2nd or 3rd. The list he ran was: Hoffman Mechanical Attendant Perdita Hunter Miss Step Joss Watcher But they changed their list over the course of the day.
  9. Don't have my book yet. Is Dashel vs Collodi in the book?
  10. Feel free to debate this: Reasoning: Hoffman - So good at working within the Guild's red tape that even Lucius was having a hard time tripping him up. Perdita - Good to the bone. Basse - Bounty Hunter says he likes to do stuff that the law won't do. Sonnia - Uses the law to further her own interests. Lady Justice - Doesn't care about Guild politics, she uses Necromancy to stop Necromancers. Nellie - Reworks the truth to fit a positive narrative for the Guild. Lucius - Uses the law to try and oppress the innocent. Dashel - Was once the right hand man of Lucius. Strict military discipline with disregard for his men (Though that might be Queeg). Bonus: McMourning for Chaotic Evil. Because he was once Guild and is so loony that it was a miracle he hadn't given himself away.
  11. If you are in the UK, TTCombat has a lot of good terrain: https://ttcombat.com/collections/wild-west https://ttcombat.com/collections/streets-of-venice Additionally you can try for some Wyrdscapes: https://www.wyrd-games.net/terrain Terrain types you are lacking in: Forests - Good source of Line of Sight blocking. I suggest at least two small blobs with removable trees. Also acts as severe terrain see below. Severe - Good source for slowing down opponents. Check page 38 and 39 of the free PDF. It lists all the terrain features that Wyrd expects. Such as: Barded Wire Bridges Buildings (Flat and Steep) Buildings (Advanced) Fences Walls Fog Banks Hills Obstacles (i.e. crates, scatter terrain, etc...)( Staircase Water Woods
  12. This almost lined up with the creation of the Lone Marshal, Hayreddin, and Anna Lovelace. If it weren't for the arcanist being a miner. If it was an outcast librarian that woul make sense.
  13. But Karina can raise them without a corpse?
  14. That's the tough part of balancing fluff with crunch. If all Death Marshals didn't drop Corpse markers they would be very unbalanced against crews that required them. They are already getting a lot of buffs against Undead so adding that on would have to replace one of their other abilities.
  15. Based on how Marlow reacted it seems as though all Death Marshals are either Undead or somewhere between Living and Undead. I don't think the actual Death Marshals were Living, even though their cards said so in M2e. There is no hint that Lady J modified the process to make Death Marshals as far as I know. The hint that they are something more than normal living people is that Necromancers, aside from Karina, cannot raise undead Death Marshals.
  16. In "Post Mortem" (Tales of Malifaux 110), Governor-General Marlow calls out Lady J for using necromancy to create Death Marshals. But Lady J does counter that all Death Marshals volunteer to become undead. Justice and the old Judge both hint at the fact they went through a similar process, but are both living in the rules. I agree with other people who commented before that once Death Marshals are able to train they go from sentient undead back to living. Though it's likely just cosmetic in regards to their appearance.
  17. My favorite thing to do to this guy is target himself with Consolidate Power to drop an enemy scheme marker with himself? He takes 1 dmg, but it still works, right?
  18. Each Master telegraphs a little bit ofwhat you are going to bring: Hoffman will have Armored Constructs. Hamlin will have swarms of Rats. Molly will have terrifying undead. The trick is to know what your opponent will expect and try to counter to that. Back in M2e I would run Perdita with almost an entire construct crew. People usually expected the Family models, but throwing in Hunters, Guardians, and Wardens threw off people's expectations. It's not a strategy beginners need to know to be viable. Most crews aren't complete hard counters, but some crews will have mechanics that you'll need to have at least one counter for, such as shockwave for horde crews.
  19. Mostly this is just going to be a discussion about how people could see Malifaux moving from niche wargame to a more identifiable brand. This came to me while seeing Games Workshop branching out more and more with Funko Pops, Action Figures, and TV Shows. My random thoughts on strengthening the Intellectual Property (IP) of Malifaux: More than Wargaming - This is more something Wyrd has to do. Malifaux has a grand story and while there is Breachside Broadcast the brand hasn't extended past that. Partially this is due to interest, there aren't many content creators (Writers, Directors, Actors) who are invested in Malifaux like say Warhammer, Star Wars, etc... But GW expanded the Warhammer brand via Novels (By creating Black Library) and Video Games (Most notably by being loose with their IP). This is not the only way to go, but it is something to keep in mind. Malifaux and Steampunk - As far as movements go, Steampunk is still niche, but it surprises me that the aesthetic of Malifaux isn't as linked to it as say Iron Kingdoms/Warmachine. Steampunk is a genre that doesn't have a big name hit on it. If I say High Fantasy is to Lord of the Rings as Steampunk is to ... what would you put there? Is it the same answer as the majority of other people? Most popular steampunk stories are in novels, so Malifaux could piggy back on that existing audience. Cosplay - Cosplay is kind of like a billboard for an Intellectual Property. Acts as both advertising and a litmus test for how identifiable your brand is. If someone is dressed as a character from your IP how identifiable are they to the general public? For example, someone in a Superman costume is identifiable to most people in the United States. Someone in a Fullmetal Alchemist costume is identifiable to most Anime fans. Someone in a Malifaux costume is identifiable to... probably just Malifaux fans. I'm not saying Wyrd should push for cosplay, I am saying its a good mark as to whether their product has penetrated other markets outside of the Malifaux community. Novels - This has been mentioned previously in this post, but if Wyrd decides to go the GW route to novels they need to realize that it is an investment. Novels do two things in my mind; 1. Increase the audience of the brand. 2. Add another avenue of revenue from the existing audience. For GW, cheap 40k novels easily fell in line with cheap SciFi novels. I've heard stories of people reading Horus Heresy novels for years without realizing it was associated with a game. But Scifi/Fantasy Genre novels hit a niche audience, which is fine as a first step towards expanding. But having an author with an existing audience would be more likely to draw in people than Wyrd using their current authors (Though I love the work they are currently doing). New authors need to build an audience and if you put out the first Malifaux novel expecting JK Rowling numbers you are going to be disappointed. Instead it has to be a gradual build up. Put out a book that introduces the setting and doesn't require much knowledge of the existing lore to read. Subsequent novels start incorporating more. Later books in the series will sell less than book 1, but every new book in the series will entice more people to read book 1. Breachside Broadcast - With the release of Earthside Echoes there is a new starting off point for introducing Malifaux to people who don't know about it. My suggestion is to share Earth Side Echoes episode 1 to people who haven't heard of Malifaux. If people like it they may go into the back catalog and listen to more episodes. Recommend it to people who are looking for fictional storytelling podcasts, like Welcome to Nightvale. Let people know how accepting we are - Any community these days should show that they are open to people of other backgrounds. Follow the Wheaton Rule of don't be a dick and make sure to give back to society when you can. The worst thing that could happen is we get people interested in wargaming who wouldn't normally be exposed to it. What do you all think? What other ideas do you have? On the subject of Video Game licenses check out the following videos on how Warhammer 40k gave pieces of its intellectual property to small game studios and managed to succeed: When it started: How it succeeded:
  20. A lot of factions have inter-faction rivalries. Don't think of it as Lady J trying to kill Sonnia. Think of it that Lady J and Sonnia have competing goals one that will either stop the Rezzers or Arcanists, but can't stop both. Same with Ten Thunders. Not everyone's objectives are aligned. Sure they'll grab beers with one another the day afterwards, but they will be upset that their mission failed for another's to succeed.
  21. Recently I played a game with Dashel and found him very stone hungry. To put into perspective I didn't get a single Ram in my hand above 7 all game, so no summoning without burning a stone for a Ram. First two turns I didn't have any cards higher than a 10, so burn soulstone for either a or draw two/discard two. Dashel's crew does have Loot Corpses to turn Corpse markers into soulstones, but I was playing against Hamelin and hadn't any melee who'd be near corpses. Except Guild Hounds and they don't get that ability. I'm thinking that those in the UK meta are more right about starting the game with a high amount of soulstones. I can definitely see the benefit for Dashel's summoning engine to have at least 8 soulstones. Just in case summoning can't get off.
  22. I've not found any at all. But I've only looked at my local store.
  23. Which cards? Also I don't know if this is an answer to your issue, but upgrades are not listed with models. There is a tab selection for model and upgrade cards. Hope that helps.
  24. Filter issue. Cannot filter for “Heal”. Because Health is on every card and filter cannot do exact string matching. Don’t know how to get around this other than to not have the word Health be searchable on the card. Hopefully we will be able to filter for such healing effects.
  25. Would Dashel summoning help? I could see summoning some Guild Hounds/Patrol to be sacrificial lambs.
