When Mei Feng works for Arcanists, can she take the emberling as a totem?

Also, can she use her specific upgrades or is she restricted to the generic Arcanists upgrades?

(In this occurrence I'm using Mei as an example as the info is the same for all dual factions)

She can take any of her own upgrades that are dual faction, and only generic ones from declared Faction.

The answer isn't actually the same for all dual faction masters. In Mei's case the Emberling itself is dual faction as are all the Foundry upgrades.

Currently the only Master I can think of that is duel faction, but not all his upgrades are is McMorning.

So a Guild hired McMorning can take the On the Clock upgrade as it is a Guild upgrade, but can't take Moonlighting as that is a Ressurectionist upgrade.

Similarly a ressurectionist McMorning can't take the On the Clock upgrade as it is a Guild upgrade, but can take Moonlighting as that is a Ressurectionist upgrade.

When you declare a faction you can look at all the upgrades that have that Faction emblem on them. Any upgrade without that faction emblem can be ignored, even if it is named for a model in your crew
