Summary

This league is intended to provide casual yet competitive environment for both new and experience Malifaux players over multiple months. The league will feature escalating game sizes with the Strategies announced well in advance to allow players to plan crew composition and schemes to use. The starting game size will be 25SS and must contain the models available in a starter box set. This will allow the majority of crews to be comprised of the box set with the option to add a totem, avatar, extra soul stones, or another low cost model. Once at the 30SS level normal crew hiring restrictions apply.

The games will not be required to be played at the store but the usual Wednesday night (5:00pm to Close) and Saturday morning (10am to 1pm) times will be available for people to show up for pick-up games or arrange plans in advance. A Player must have their score card initialed by their opponent for their points to count.

Registration

The league will have a one-time registration fee of $5 which will be used for prize support and terrain funds.

Hiring restrictions per round

Round 1: For the first round players focus on utilizing the contents of their chosen leader's box set for a game. First hire models from the box set. If any Soulstones are available after all models in the box set are hired then the remaining Soulstones may be used for hiring any models as per the normal hiring restrictions of the crew. After that any remaining Soulstones will be allocated to the starting Soulstone pool as normal. Crews may contain less models than the box set comes with to increase their starting Soulstone pool for the game but in order to contain models outside of the box set they must first have hired all box set models.

Round 2: For the second round players must hire 14 Soulstones worth of models from their chosen leader's box set for a game. The remaining Soulstones may be used for hiring any models as per the normal hiring restrictions of the crew. After that any remaining Soulstones will be allocated to the starting Soulstone pool as normal.

Round 3-6: Hire models as per the normal hiring restrictions of the crew.

Determining Winners

Competitive Scoring TP/DIFF/VP: At the end of the league, take the highest TP game from each round and add them together for each player. This is their competitive score. Rank all of the players in descending order from highest competitive score to lowest competitive score. The player with the highest competitive score is the winner! In case of any ties in the competitive score, the combined DIFF score of the selected TP games becomes the first tie-breaker. The player with the higher DIFF wins the tie. If this is also tied, VP is the final tie-breaker, wherein the player with the higher combined VP score of the selected TP games wins the tie.

Achievement Scoring: At the end of the league, add up each player?s achievement points from all of the games they played. This is their achievement score. Rank all of the players in descending order from highest achievement score to lowest. The player with the highest achievement score is the winner! In cases of any ties in achievement point total from the Painting Related category becomes the first tie-breaker. The player with the higher Painted Related achievement score wins the tie.

In the case of a single player winning both categories, they will be assigned the Competitive Scoring Prize and the player with the next highest achievement score will win the Achievement Scoring Prize.
