Misery Rex
Currently putting together the Ten Thunders archers and I can honestly say they are a royal pain. While the detail is nice the fact that the mini's were in so many separate pieces with little clear indication as to how they fit together made the experience a largely negative one. Given the size of the pieces and the relative ease with which the plastic gets damaged the frustration level literally made me put the models away and move onto other projects. Are all the future plastic mini's going to be this way? I have never had this kind of problem with the metal ones. Sorry. Needed to vent, those damn hanging clothes on the hats drove me crazy. sqir666
Oh I completu understand the venting, though I haven'tvthose models yet. But, the Necroric Machine I put together made me weep a little.
Twisted Metal
The Archers are by far the most difficult of the new sculpts to assemble and the consensus seems to be that it's because of stupid little hats. I ended up gluing the fabric together, then gluing the fabric to the hat. Once that was dry I slipped it over the head. I didn't worry to much about getting every thing perfectly interlocked. I just filled the gap and unless you flip the archer over and look closely at it you can't even tell.

That's pretty much the process I followed, and sometimes popping the head into the hat/flap assembly was tight. But I do have to say that the engineering was very tight...the heads, hats and flaps were all unique to each figure and once you figured out how they went together the fit, locating tabs and such were spot on...just very fiddly. I found myself wondering whether there is a trade off between detail and ease of assembly and where limitations of the model casting process fit in. Now mine are done and primed and look really good, but I'm taking a little break from them before I get to painting. Dave
