OTP
Hi All i thought id post my new kirai WIP up for some comments, I am really unsure where to go form here, it terms of colours for the hair and the fans, and am terrified of trying to paint the cords on the models and ruining the whole thing.... These are probably the best thing i have painted (as they stand) and while pleased with them am looking for tips for improvement and suggestions on the final couple of colours... I may redo there skin to be grey, and use that to tie them to the Gaki Cheers OTP Edited September 23, 2012 by OTP
Huang Da Wei
Looking good so far. When I paint my models I usually go for the skin first, then paint working my way outwards, if that makes sense. I like these models and they were my favourites when I painted my Kirai crew. here is my crew, maybe they can give you a few ideas

OTP
Was finally able to get some better shots of these, and they show up ever missed brush stroke or mistake, hence you only get a few
Evilbleachman
I really dig your style. Now, tell me your yellow secrets. TELL ME NOW! D: I planned on doing a similar take on the models. Just mine would be bright orange with various grey tones. Might consider making them a brighter grey, seeing how the light skin tones really work well. OTP
Hi all appreciate the feedback! Evilbleachman, the yellow is GW Zamsi Desert base, and just more and more white added as I go. Zamsi Desert is a VERY yellow brown, to be honest almost looks gold in the pot
Evilbleachman
Hmm. Must be a paint from their old line of paints. I have a nice dark yellow base color from their new line. I would probably mix it up with a brighter shade of yellow, to null out the brownish look in the highlights. Still very nice though.
