My question is if a mindless zombie as within anight terrors 2" attack rang

but out side of the zombies1" attack range

Would the night terror still be classed as beingengaged in combat ?

And therefor cannot interact with the dynamite.

Yep, they are both engaged, per p.39 of the RM.

I may be misunderstanding this, but p. 39 says,

"Model's in range of an enemy's melee Weapon, or with an enemy model within their melee Weapon range, are said to be engaged in melee..."

However, the night terror only has a 1" melee Weapon Range so is the example hypothetical?

Sorry yes the question is just to see if the model with the model with a melee range of 2" is stll in combat even if the other model only has a range of 1"

Just to clarify the specific situation that was addressed:

Mindless Zombies are Neutral, which means not enemy, which means that no model is ever engaged with a Mindless Zombie except in 1 of 2 situations which are:

During the end of the activation phase when Nicodem is in play and within 12", it is only during the one time that he controls them

When Avatar Nicodem is in play (which I believe removes neutral from the zombies, but I could be wrong)

Otherwise you guys have nailed it, but when concerning mindless zombies, they're just corpse counters with a height until something happens which changes that. No disengaging strikes, never engaged...
