Los and cover questions

Hi I am just trying to brush up the rules regarding cover and could use some clarification.

1. model 1 attempts to shoot model 2 with a ranged (gun symbol) attack but there is a corner of a building (blocking trait) in the way. Not all the of the bases involved can draw a straight line to each other but a portion of the bases can. Will model 2 only receive cover if it is within 1" of the building?

2. How does shooting through a window work? If there were examples of this in the rule book I missed them.

3. Just to be clear is it as simple as:

Blocking trait ='s hard cover

obscuring trait ='s soft cover

Providing of course that cover would be granted in a given scenario.

2. You should rule on terrain before the game begins. Basically, ask your opponent a) Can you shoot through windows? Does it provide hard or soft cover?

3. Yes. It helps to discuss certain things before the game, though, just to make sure you're on the same page.
