Depends on positioning IMHO.

If the target model is within the forest (base touching or inside the Forest's base) and there's 3" or less of the forest between the target and the Waldgeist, then yes, it would be a legal & successful Charge.

Otherwise Walgeist has no LOS (regardless of how big the forest is) and cannot even declare the charge. It is easy to forget about it, especially if you take Waldgeist with Lilith and Nephilim (plenty of Special rules allowing models to ignore LoS when charging).

But Haunted Forest affects all Strikes, not just Strike Actions, so it will apply during Charge. Getting LoS is more of an issue here.

Not sure I agree with that.

Charge, pg 35: "If the target of the Charge is out of melee range at the end of the model's move, the Charge Action ends immediately"

Haunted Forest doesn't actually change the Waldgeist's melee range - it allows melee attacks to target models which are outside the normal melee range. The Charge doesn't specify that you have to be able to make a strike at the end of the movement - it specifies that you must be in melee range, which is still 2". So I believe the charge would fail at that point, ending the action.
