Question about Ophelia and Co's Luck

Ophelia and her crew have the trigger ability to double their dmg in exchange for taking damage. My question is, are they allowed to use said abilities if it will end up killing them?

Example, Ophelia has 1 wd left, and she gets a ram to trigger the ability and doubles her severe damage to 8, but she takes 1 wd and as a result she would die.

is this allowed?

As long as it causes damage which it does then yes. If it caused wds you could not.

Thanks. So if it's one of the gremlins that do double (or triple) and then take half the damage they deal, they can do it if it will kill them, but Ophelia can't since her's is listed as just doing 1 WD?

We're all just learning Malifaux, we've only had a few games each, it's so much different from Warhammer, but also so much fun and much more affordable for both new players and existing players wanting to try out different crews and lists.

You got it. The short is wd basically will go through damage there is so many factors that can prevent it or reduce it so it is not always am auto kill. A model cam not intentional do something that will kill it since askance is less predictable it is not consider intentional per ae.
