25 SS Gaining Ground Event - Montreal, PQ - September 10th, 2011

I am please to announce the first, of hopefully many, Malifaux tournaments that I will be running at Gamer's Vault in Montreal, Quebec.

This Malifaux event will be held on Saturday September 10th, 2011 starting at 11am with a hard stop at 6pm. The event will follow the 2011 Gaining Grounds document located here.

A few small modifications will be made, the full details are as follows:

25 Soulstone event

Single Faction Event (Faction announced at the beginning of the day, that's what you play all day).

Open crew construction before each round, 10 minutes provided after pairings are announced for crew building.

Fixed 3 rounds, 90 minutes play time each.

Fixed shared strategy each round.

Scheme are unique across the event (each player can only use each scheme once).

Accumulation point format.

The cost will be 10$ per non-member and $5 per member, with the total prize pool being distributed across the winning players. The prize distribution will be:

50% winner

20% second

15% third

15% random draw

If we have over 10 participants, there will be two additional prizes randomly drawn among those who qualify:

1 Miss Demeanor (All participants qualify, other prize winners are not excluded)

1 Windsor Newton Series 7 #2 paint brush (or $15 Gamer's Vault gift card). Only players using fully painted crews all day qualify for this draw.

This event does NOT require fully painted armies, however proxies will not be allowed (including for models that are summoned during play. If you want to summon it, you need the appropriate model). All models must be fully built for the event.

Finally, we will have a Ringer available if we have an odd number of players, the odd player will play against the ringer each round. The Ringer will not be eligible for any prizes (and the Ringer does not count towards the 10 participant limit for the additional prizes).

There is no limit on the number of players for this event, however there is a hard stop at 6pm. With the timing of the rounds, and the limit of 3 rounds we should have plenty of time for this.

Sign ups are ready now, all players will be asked to pay their entrance fee on the day of the event only. Post here, PM me or sign up in the store if you want to participate!
