The bag is missing on front pocket that was damaged by a dog attack (and this is a shout-out to Battlefoam, the models were inside and stayed undamaged even when my dog ate the pocket to get the granola bar that was inside), other than this the bag is in good condition, and the foams are all excellent. I've already had some locals email me asking if they can buy it too. I have told them all that if I get one, I'll likely keep it (and I don't play Guild), the model itself is just too cool, and it'd be very hard to replace.

To those who say Iggy is great with Kaeris, is it only when she's leading a crew, or would you take Iggy even if Kaeris was taken with someone else (like Ramos for example)? I've had a hard time with Kaeris with Ramos lately as I find I end up lacking the burning tokens, but Iggy could be a good solution (I guess he'd replace a Gunsmith I'd normally take).

Hopefully we'll see these at Gencon, I've just started arcanists recently and they'll fit right into my theme!

I play the M&SU Masters, so Ramos and Colette. I haven't lead a crew with Kaeris yet, but she does feature in my Ramos crew semi-regularly.

Honestly, I think the best core for a Ramos crew is the following: Ramos aRamos Mobile toolkit 2 Large SPAs (hire 1 or 2 as needed) 1 spider swarm (so 3 spiders) (for summoning, only hire if you have nothing else or the strategy requires model count) Electrical creation (again for summoning) And the rest you can fill to taste with spiders, Kaeris, Gunsmiths or other constructs. The key will be to avatar Ramos as soon as possible. I usually start with the toolkit, large SPA and Ramos allin base to base. The toolkit starts, give Ramos the tome and if you have Kaeris, gives her onetoo, otherwise you can do what you want with him that doesn't require movement. Next the large SPA activates and kills the toolkit with melee expert and walks forward. Finally Ramos activates, grabs the scrap and walks twice. Then summons a spider and an electrical creation fulfilling the first manifest requirement. On the second turn, you can use the all action to manifest early, to provide the speed buff to all your constructs, and from turn 3 onwards you have aRamos to run wild. Also, keep in mind the large SPA is a 50mm base, so it drops 3 scrap when it dies (and aRamos can summon them for 2), so don't hold it back too far, be aggressive with them and aRamos can keep the pressure on. With regards to Kaeris, I haven't had huge success running her with aRamos recently, mostly due to the lack of burning counters available for her to take advantage of. If you have the student of conflict with her. That would make a huge difference in her self-sufficiency.

This coming weekend we have a Malifaux event that kicks off the store league! This will be a 35 SS event held at Gamers Vault in Montreal. Painting is not required for this event, so new and old players are welcome. All players will be asked to pick a single faction at the start of the event, and will build a crew at the beginning of each round. Each pairing will flip for a single Shared Strategy at the beginning of the round. All schemes will be unique across the days events. The event will consist of 3 rounds, and will start at 11am sharp. There will not be a specific time limit for each round, however once the second to last game ends, the final table playing will be asked to finish their turn to avoid people waiting. The entry fee will be $5 per player, and all proceeds will go back into prize support in the form of store credit. All games in the tournament count towards the upcoming league (details below). Finally, the games in this event can be reported to the Dead Heat: Worldwide Malifaux Campaign that Wyrd is kicking off for this summer (more details on this will follow). ------------------------------------------------------ Malifaux Summer League! The leagues starts this week on Sunday July 22nd. Players can play any faction at any time throughout the league, and it's a simple league where players report to me their factions, who wins and who loses, and if the crew was fully painted. Ay point size games are allowed. All players will receive 3 points for a win, 2 points for a tie and 1 point for a loss. All crews that are fully painted receive 1 bonus point. At the end of the league all points will be tallied, and a prize will be awarded to the player with the most points. There will also be 2 random prizes drawn from all participants, and 1 prize for the person with the most fully painted points (the winner of the league cannot win both prizes, in the case of the same person, the second most painting points wins). Finally, there is no entry fee for this league, so come out and have fun!

I've used the Vallejo brus on varnish for a long time, and what the others have said is similar to my thoughts. I us usually start with a single gloss coat, then add 1 or 2 matte coats to remove the shine. I have o problems wit wear, and love the finished look. Ratty is right about the drying time, overnight is the absolute minimum, but I like to give them a full 24h where possible before handling.

That's true for the first turn or two, but once the Effigy and Stitched are in the middle, you don't need to move em much more, so the extra cast can be used for other things (like transpositioning he enemies to you!)

With Transposition and proper placement, you can keep the Stitched and Arcane Effigy close to Lilith, you'll just end up wasting the extra cast on the first turn or two to get them to the middle of the board.

This event will be a speed painting competition on Monday July 16th from 8 to 9pm. We invite you to join us for an intensive, yet enjoyable, hour of painting on puppets. The details of the event are as follows: - July 16th, 2012 at Gamers Vault in Montreal - Entry fee of $5 per participant, paid to the organizers. This entry fee will go towards the purchase of the Puppets for the painting contest. - All models will be provided, cleaned, assembled and primed white (Black priming is available upon request, please let us know by July 9th if Black is preferred). - Figurines will be distributed randomly among the participants, trading among participants is allowed!. - All participants need to bring their own paint and brushes. - The painting will take place between 8pm and 9pm. - Judging will be done by the participants at the end of the event.
