Blast Damage versus the original target

I just got done reading the portion of the FAQ that talked about how to do blast damage and a question popped up.

I understand that the original target will take the damage created by the initial attack and not the blast damage from the first template. But, what if you arranged the templates so that the second or third template actually touched the original target as well? Would it take blast damage from that blast template or does it only take the primary damage?
