I had this in community events here.... report to Tournaments as follows:

I will be running a Malifaux tournament in Ashburn VA on October 2, 2010. Please pre-register via paypal by sending $5 as a "gift" to nix(at)coda.net.

  Tournament Time:

  • Registration: 10:30am – 11am
    Round 1: 11am – 12:30pm
    Round 2: 1:30pm – 3:00pm
    Round 3: 3:30pm – 5:00pm
    Paint Judging: 5:00pm – 6:00pm
    Round 4: 6:00pm – 7:30pm
    Awards: 8:00pm
    

  Appearance Standard: All models in a crew must be painted

  Proxy Rule: a minimum of 50% of the models in a crew must be Wyrd Miniatures unless the model is not available as of September 11, 2010.

  Prize Ruling:

  • - Prizes will be awarded for
    
    • o Tournament Overall – Best of combined Tactics + Players Choice + Sports
      o Tactics – Best overall Victory Point Score
      o Players Choice – high scoring players choice score
      o Sports – highest scoring sports score
      

    - Prizes for Tactics, Players Choice, and Sports will be equal weighted and less than the Tournament Overall prize.

    - Participants are only able to be awarded one prize.

  • o Fixed 25 soul stone list for all games
    o No Henchman as Masters

  • o The tournament organizers will set boards and Terrain.
    

  • Strategies and Scheme’s

    • o Fixed Strategies per round (detailed in player pack)
      
      • • Encounter 1 - Supply Wagon
        • Encounter 2 - Claim Jump
        • Encounter 3 - Treasure Hunt
        • Encounter 4 - Slaughter
        

      o 1 scheme will be picked per encounter, and cannot be repeated. Schemes to be chosen from “Rising Powers Expansion”.

and to make sure its not missed....

Just a quick teaser on one of the boards that being built for the tourney. Here is the bog board with fresh water effects just poured and starting to dry. Edges will be painted and the board will be flocked/static-grassed once the water effects dry.

There is still room left for the tourney, pre-registration is appreciated to make sure we have enough boards for everyone.

for those not following the other thread, an update post tournament.

Tournament was very successful, with 9 players showing up to play 4 games. All told, the players made out with everyone walking away with a painted and based Wagon Marker, Best overall received a custom Graveyard terrain piece, a set of poker-chips for markers, and $25 in store credit. Tactics, Players Choice, and Sports each received $15 in store credit plus a set of poker chip markers.

Overall stats on for the day below:

Both Perdita (using the starter box) and Levi had a very strong showing. I was very happy to see only 1 Master was duplicated through the day. I would have liked to see Ressers or Neverborn, but I know our local players were otherwise engaged and not able to make it out.
