Ashes/Dust - Monkey Paw Trinket

Oz - Rampage Games

Question

Hi Guys/Gals,

Odd Question potentially but am fairly confident of the answer myself.

Emissary - Monkey Paw = Gives re-activate and sacrifice the model at the end of the turn. It cannot summon models

Ashes and Dust - When it dies, summons the two parts.

Now, here is the potentially confusing parts, i believe it is played as Style 1, but could see an interpretation of Style 2.

1) Second Activation, Ashes and Dust is sacrificed. Core and Storm are not summoned due to the wording of not being able to summon

2) Second Activation, AShes an Dust is sacrificed and has to discard upgrades, then aeshen core and dust storm is summoned as the upgrade is no longer attached.

The key question is order of resolving and whether the summon other models, relates to actual casting summon actions like Toshiro and the alike OR it is anythhing.

Clarity/opinion from the community would be greatly welcomed.

The wording of the Monkey's Paw upgrade bans you from summoning any models for the rest of the turn - it's not dependent on having the upgrade attached.

Also the wording of Ashes and Dust's summon summons the Ashen Core before giving it an upgrade (which you would be banned from), so even if the no summon clause was attached to having the upgrade, you wouldn't summon anything.

And finally to top it all off, Ashes and Dust is immune to all conditions anyway so it can't gain Reactivate in the first place, so the Hateful Wish ability would never come into play unless you really wanted to waste two cards on nothing.
