How long do you keep the Black Joker in hand?

I have ways to use all of my cards usually. Sometimes I discard one but I had a use for it. Normally defensive triggers or nurse actions. For friendly lures 4 are amazing. 5 or 6 cards are a huge deal in a game. As you stated, only one game was directly affected by a bj. If a black joker comes out, plans change but that is part of the game.

 

No, I said only 1 game has been decided by a single flip.  Every time the Black Joker comes up it has far reaching effects on the game that aren't readily apparent.

 

If you have a model like the Nurse or Wastrel, then low low cards can be useful as you suggest; however, the only master I play regularly that can hire either of those models is Zoraida, and she draws so many cards, that seeing 5 fewer cards during a game is more or less meaningless.
