Soseito
Hello all, I am getting married next month on Halloween and as such my fiance and I decided that it would be awesome to create a display board depicting a wedding between two Malifaux masters. Because they're some of our favorite masters we have decided to use the good doctor McMourning and the lovely lady Colette. So here are the roles we have planned thus far- Bride: Collette Bride's escort: Mechanical rider Groom: McMourning Officiant: Carrion effigy or the Graveyard spirit Bridesmaids: Oirans,Performers,Nurses groomsmen: Guild autopsies Maid of honor: Cassandra Best man: Sebastian Ring bearer: Dreamer Flower girl: Candy What I would like help with is how to design a roughly 1 foot square display that looks like a wedding ceremony. We would like to have it set in a foresty area. Does anybody have any suggestions or tips?
MightyGodzilla
Sounds pretty cool. Just brainstorming here to get the ball rolling. * if you're looking for other than flat terrain you can top your board with a plat of strofoam and go to town on it with knives and such. *Games Workshop makes a set of trees that are meaty and play the part nicely in a dark forest. The trees come off the plastic plate if you don't want to use the whole thing. http://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Citadel-Wood *You could go down to your local fabric shop and get a small swathe of red fabric for a red carpet (going from the edge to the pulpit). This can be singed with fire, stomped on, etc for suitable weathering. Ok those are my three. Get your ideas in people. Help this groom out!! Soseito
I'm loving the idea of the red carpet. I was thinking of making a stage of sorts as a backdrop or perhaps the couple are standing on it. I figure the stage would work well Colette. deValmont
I think it would be pretty easy to build a white arbor for them to be standing just in front of (You know, the arch things that people have at outdoor weddings.) Soseito
I found a gazebo in a dollar store made out of skulls and bones. I think that with some paint and a few tiny touch-ups it would be a perfect fit for the arbor.
valhallan42nd
Find some birch seed pod "leaf scatter" to add the extra touch of verisimilitude.
Tradition
If you want leaf action, buy the secret weapon minis autumn leaf mix (which is of the birch seed pod variety valhallan mentioned above) - it is gorgeous (and 'MisterJustin' is super awesome - take his seminars if he comes to a con near you - http://www.secretweaponminiatures.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=13&products_id=433) Congratulations to you both and
Soseito
Thanks for the advice. I'm heading up to a local craft store & dollar store in about an hour to see what I can find. I'll post photos of the progress shortly.
