Baby Kade's carving knife and counting if engaged if you have no claw attack

Hey baby Kade and a day dream are "engaged" with an enemy model would have count as having a friendly target engaged? 

 

From my perspective the day dream can't engage enemy models since it doesn't have a claw attack. From the enemy's perspective though he is engaged with both baby kade and the day dream since he has a claw attack that is in range of both models. 

 

my thoughts are it should count and baby kade get the +2 damage.

The enemy model is engaged with 2 friendly models since he is engaging them. Now if the model you are attacking does not have a close attack then no since the day dream and the model just stare at each other.

Engagement goes both ways; if an enemy model is within a model's engagement range, both the enemy and the model are engaged with each other.

 

So yes, in this case you get the +2
