That is a great piece. The backdrop was really excellent and so was the atmosphere. For me it was just below my top 3. Great job!

Great job everyone! Always a joy to participate and love how positive this community is.

Congrats to the winners, there were some great pieces, especially competition in the overachiever category was very tough! Excited for next contest!

Congratulations to all the winners. There was some truly amazing work on display!
@Hobby Wyrd thank you so much for hosting this. It really is a great opportunity for all of us to attack the hobby in a creative way! While you are potentially considering possible changes, might I suggest maybe splitting up us novice painters from the pros? I honestly don't care about winning a prize... for me it's more about at least getting a vote (meaning, receiving one) Just looking at this thread I can see people that have won multiple times... maybe they should be in a category together to duke it out. Just a thought I really do love these competitions, despite my obvious lack of talent So thank you again!
I think this is an interesting notion. The downside is splitting up the competition in multiple small groups. The advantage is that indeed more novice painters can get recognition for their work. I recently participated in a middle-earth themed painting contest that alternates between competitions hosted for intermediate-advanced painters (defined as having at least 2 years of experience in the hobby combined with experience with advanced techniques, such as nmm, osl, glazing, etc.), all the rest can compete in the beginner category. But these are completely separate contests.
Not sure what is best, there's pro's and cons here.
Small side note, I believe that you can achieve a whole lot in this hobby without what most would call raw talent. Perseverance and passion will get you way further unless you aspire to be one of the absolute best.

Can someone explain how this event card works? Can you move and move a fan and van you just walk fans off the board.

🤦♂️scrolled right over her without noticing. Still lovely color palette! Would've loved to see the original base job
I think I have the base still, if I find it i'll drop a pic here!

That basing idea is of-the-hook-crazy-good. instantly creates atmosphere for the crew. Can't wait to see what you do to Titania herself
Thanks! Titania is posted above though, and she might dissapoint you. She had an even crazier base before but it was too fragile for gameplay.

Great models!
Already loved your Archie, when you submitted it for Rotten Harvest. That piece of statue-head looks so great...😜
Hey, thanks! Yeah, the stone faces are great. I got these from sciborminiatures and the quality is very nice.

It hasn't been run since 2018, but it had done 3 consecutive years after returning from a long break . I have no idea when they plan to run it again, but its had gaps before and returned, so I can imagine it will come back again.
Its quite an undertaking to run a painting contest that lasts 4 months, with multiple rounds going on, and judging needed on 100's of entries.
For sure, I can imagine! I was assuming it was something like this. Thanks for the info!

Hi guys, read about the iron painter and this sounds really interesting and exciting. I was wondering if this is organised regularly or was discontinued? Can't find a thread about it on the forum.

Stunning work! Can't wait to see them with the bases finished!
Wow, thanks!

Looking forward to seeing more of your work!
Thanks man, these were relatively quick high tabletop standard models for a comission. But I'm glad you like them!

Before showing more of my neverborn, I wanted to show this nightmare Molly crew I recently finished for a comission. They're only waiting for their customs bases which still need to be printed. It the 'Brine and Bones' box as well as archie with his pirate hat (which I entered in the 2021 Rotten Harvest contest. A great set of miniatures for sure!

Beautiful models, I really love the skin and the runes in it. Keep them coming!!
Thanks! Will do, I have painted almost all my malifaux collection. I am planning to on one hand finish all unpainted models and on the other hand take some time to make pictures of all the work of the past couple of years.

Hi guys,
I'm Joachim and paint minis as my mini painting alter ego silver lining (@silver_lining_mini_painting).
I've played malifaux for years and have always been a big fan of both the sculpts and the general style of the miniatures. They are always so fun to paint.
I have a lot of painted malifaux stuff I haven't shown off before. So I thought it was time to show some of it in this thread.
Looking forward to any and all feedback!
