  1. Hi all!

Wondering what crews or leaders your all looking at for Hechmen Hardcore Events.

With the Scheme and Strat pool locked it makes for some interesting crew building.

My first instincts lead me to the First Mate as the best selection but are there any good options which have escaped my attention.

    My standard list is

    First Mate
    Iron Skeeter
    Gator
Grootslang. (Not sure on this guy, love the model but limited use in Hency other then delivering markers to the flanks and harassing people.
    (1 Soul Stone Remaining)

The List can easily put 3 explosives down on the first turn if necessary.

Curious what everybody else is running! :)

Here's some fun things to do. Use Lenny (With a ghillie suit) and Alphonse to toss the emissary around. Every model it moves over has to take the duel or take damage and it can push or charge itself back over models to the next pitcher and get tossed out again. Emissary never fails to

    ... Its a Yo Yo.

  3. Inferiority Complex + Wiskey Golem is incredible. Nimble combines relay well with stagger.

Twelve Cups of Coffee + Gremlin Crier or Twelve Cups of Coffee on Hog Whisperer. Both are key support models who need there AP and have to keep up with fast crews. (I normally hire one crier with Coffee and send them down a flank with both skeeters, that little unit can normally handle a scheme by itself.)

Rooster Riders + Inferiority Complex are solid to.

  4. Hi all!

So a debate came up in a game today weather the 'After Resolving' timing on an ability follows the same timing as the 'After Resolving' affect on a trigger.

The rule book specifies on pg 60 that.

    Quote

Some abilities, however, are active and create certain effects in reaction to other events on the table. When an active Ability goes into effect, resolve the effect step by step in the order listed on the ability.

on pg 70 its specifies under ability timing

    Quote

Most Abilities are passive and always in effect, but some occur as a result of another game effect. In these cases, the Ability will use the word "After" These Abilities happen after the effect in question is resolved.

under Trigger no Ability timing on pg 48 it reads

    Quote

After Resolving: These Triggers happen after the Action is complete, regardless of success or failure, but only if the model that declared the Trigger is still in play.

So the point of contention is weather Abilities must obey the same timing as triggers. Therefore if a model with an "After Resolving an Opposed Duel" trigger dies during the effects step of the duel does its ability either.

    A. Not Function, Abilities with timing obey the same timing as triggers therefore the model is dead.
    B. Function, Abilities are not triggers and therefore an After Resolving ability still functions even if the model is killed.
    C. After resolving an opposed duel is a step which happens before the damage is applied, and therefore the ability will function sequentially before the model suffers damage and is killed.

If option A is the case a rules reference which specifies in particular to use the same timing as triggers would be appreciated.

    Thanks all!

  5. Hi all! Has anyone used Two Gremlins in a Ghillie Suit on Lenny to allow him to Toss Georgy and Olaf Into possition thanks to the +1 Size?

I only got my Gencon order recently so I have my first Big Hat game this afternoon! Thinking of other possible combos already (Hiring the Whiskey google into Big hat and using lenny to throw it 10 inches into the middle of the enemy crew anyone?)

So what do you all think? has anyone had success with Lenny and Ghillie suit yet?

  6. My recommendation is running this trick with Tricksy. Sparks is already in the keyword, and you can take cheep survivors as well! Who have access to staggering punch to lower the opponents movement and are sturdy enough to be pigapulted around the place.

  7. It wasn't covered above but for Ulix it is key to know that he himself has no way to summon piglets.

You need to take a Hog Whisperer or Slop Hauler to summon piglets which Ulix can then grow up. I would recomend always taking at least one so that Ulix can make you war pigs.

  8. When Sandeep summons a model he attaches the 'Shackled Elements' Upgrade which allows the model to use the With Our Powers Combined ability which states.

    Quote

With Our Powers Combined: At the start of this model's Activation, if it is within :ToS-Aura:4 of at least two other models with the same name, it may Replace itself and two such models in range with an Elemental Enforcer model with the same Demise Ability as all three replaced models.

Under replace  section 3(Core Rulebook Page 68) it states

    Quote

Any summon Upgrades attached to the original Model are attached to the new model

So my question if I used 3 Gamin who all had the Shackled Elements Upgrade attached to make a Golem would said Golem have 3 copies of the same upgrade on it (and therefore prevent sandeep from using those two spare upgrades to summon more models)  or would it only have one such upgrade attached and return the other two to the pool allowing for further summoning?

Similarly it states in With our Powers Combined that you replace all three models, EG. I have Gamin A, B and C. A and B have already Activated. I activate Gamin C and use "With our Powers Combined' can the resulting Golem be placed in base to base with any of the three relvent models or only the initiating one?

My Instinct is that you either.

    - Have to take all 3 upgrades AND can place near any of the three gamin regardless of who initiated the Replace effect.
    or
    - Only have to take 1 upgrade from the initiating Gamin AND must also place next to the Initiating Gamin.

  9. You've met and loved the Whiskey Golem. Now introducing your friendly neighborhood Beer Golem! Its like a whiskey golem but less tasty. So it acts all fancy to make up for this.

The Beer Golem is my affectionate nickname for a Whiskey Golem with the Inferiority Complex upgrade.

I have had HUGE success with this combo in my games as with the Whiskey Golems Nimble ability to take a free walk action, Inferiority turns that into a free focus aswell.

This allows for an easy 2 focus'd attacks on the first engagement turn. (Charge, make 1 attack with a previous focus, then take the free walk to move 1mm or more in engagement gaining focus, then make your second attack also benefiting from focus.)

And having Ruthless on a beatstick is never a bad thing!

Has anyone else tried this combination? And what did you think of it.

I'm surprised you got Assassinate off!  Did they not bring Librarians or the Emissary?

They did! Hannah and one librarian. I used brin to stack the deck late in the turn and without armour he wasnt to hard to deal with. Dropped him low turn 4 as the last activation of the turn then turn 5 activated Mah first to finish him before the healing could come through.

  11. Game all done.

6-4 My win (2 corrupt idols, 2 assasinate 2 Take prisoner) to (3 Idols, 1 Hold Up their forces)

Slop hauler did great  help keep my roosters on the frantic level without being to low also healed chip damage on sparks etc. Forgot to bring my piglet minis so that didnt work out saddly! But handed out adversary to a few key models to.

Sparks made his points back easily. Stripped Lazarus of his armour making him an easy kill for Mah. Then did the same for Von Schill letting me secure assasinate.

Roosters didnt perform aswell without Inferiority complex.

Soulstone minors made take prisoner a breeze!

    Why the slop?

The Slop can be transported by the roosters thanks to hitch a ride. So I can pull it up feild crazy fast.

I will be using it to summon some piglets to use for  cursed idols (T1: reckless both riders and double move them both up field. Placing scheme markers for the slop hauler, then activate the hauler and summon a piglet plus heal of the reckless damage)  and healing the two rooster riders up sp that they dont drop to far below fast from the reckless. (It can also hand out adversary beast which benefits the Riders aswell. But that will be a bonus if it happens)

  13. Thanks all! :D

I declared Mah for the match (Hence how I know its up against at Von Schill.)

    Current List is.

    Mah
    - Little Lass

2x Rooster Rider + Inferiority Complex    18 Stones
Slop Hauler                                                  6 Stones with tax.
    Big Brain Brin                                              8 Stones
    Soulstone Minor                                          6 Stones

So 38 Stones so far. Gotta work out where my last 12 points!

    Corner Deployment: Corrupted Idols
Detonate Charges, Hold Up their Forces, Take Prisoner, Assassinate, Claim Jump

Roosters are gonna take the Slop Hauler to a corner and churn some piglets out to sacrifice to Cursed Idols which will also let the Rooster damage themselves to frantic levels quickly. Hauler can help keep the Roosters healthy once they are under Frantic to.

Soulstone can score easy Take Prisoner. Second Scheme is undecided so far.

Thinking either Gators to go for execute triggers, or Sparks for Analyze weakness.
Mabye Trixie to lure people into some detonate charges or to deny an easy claim jump.

Not sure if I'd agree with Survival of the Fittest havin' to go. In any case, I really dislike Pig-Eating Grin. It is an abillity that requires way too much setup.

    You have to:

    • Have a model die within 6 of Som'er
    • Have a 2nd model be within 6 of Som'er
    • Have card to discard
    • Have a card worth discarding

Honestly - Som'ers crew is all about worthless models dying for the glory of the Bayou. They are not skilled shotters worth setting up such a large combo for.

You can trigger the combo yourself with "Make Me Proud, Boys!", and I imagen that is the only way to make it happen.

Honestly this ability is making me think about taking sommer as a second master in a Kin crew. Summon ing bayous as a screen and using them to get second shots off for Ophellia.
