It's worth getting the Zipp box just for The First Mate. Don't get me wrong, Zipp and his crew are awesome in their own right, but The First Mate is probably among the objectively best single models in M3e atm and he has some amazing synergies with Z due to having the Swampfiend keyword. He'll earn the 3 SS extra compared to a regular Silurid back in every game you pick him up in. Don't just take my word for it, proxy him into your next Z game and check it out for yourself.

i want to second (third) this too.

First Mate always gets work done. He can do some seriously good beating. This guy can go solo on a flank and gets shit done. He never dissapointed me so far.
If i got some additional stones left, i like to give him "two gremlins in a Ghillie Suit" which gives him Disguised in addition to Butterfly Jump and Stealth. Reeaaaly nasty.

    1. ATM.  They are yours until a FAQ that says otherwise.

(RB Pg. 28, Markers, 5th bullet.  " When a model Drops a Marker it is friendly to the Crew controlling the model that Dropped it.")

    2. Yes,

That sounds pretty clear to me, thanks for figuring out :)

  3. So i am a bit of confused.
The rulebook says, if a model would unbury and cant be placed, it is placed in its deployment zone instead. Is this also the case if a model cant even hit its requirements to unbury, for example Misaki is buried and has no more shadow markes on the board, or does she stay buried and is killed End of Game?

Guess this was what I was thinking of, then.

I can't find the right section in the rules. There is one passage about abilities and one about conditions that says models cant get the same multiple time. Since Alcohol Poisoning doesn't give a new ability a second time, nor is a condition, I'm confused. It just says a model would take +1 damage.

Could you point out where I can find this in the rules?

I just took a look and cant find the section as i rembered it anymore. Might have been changed during the beta i dunno. The way it now reads in the rulebook, they indeed should stack hence the +

    Edit: Found it, Page 30

Toss in the mud only removes 1 condition

what is giving the 2nd :+flip?

Also a ram would only add +1 damage for min 4 unless you ram and stone?

Since Toss in the mud though is only 2" Rg and not a :ToS-Melee: how are people using it offensively since you can't charge and toss in the mud and can't flurry off it.

Finisher gives +2 Damage for Advisary and injured.

Toss in the Mud first, then Attack with Flurry for min 10 dmg. Works best if you are already engaged tho.

    1.  shouldn't you have 5 schemes?

    2.  for cheap Infamous models, have you tried Flying Piglets?

    3.  CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!  The Forgotten are a rough crew.  Everyone keeps touting The First Mate's abilities, but he kept failing me... maybe I should givve him either try.

you are right. the fifth scheme was power ritual :)
havent tried flying piglets in m3e yet, i think they look solid tho, but i rather wanted a few extrastones since i played 3 henchman.
awwww, dont lose your faith in the first mate, he didnt get his job for no reason after all :D

  7. So here we go again

    Zipp vs Molly

    • Wedge Deployment
    • Plant Explosives
    • Detonate Charges
    • Harness the Leyline
    • Claim Jump
    • Outflank
    • Power Ritual

    BAYOU

    • Zipp
    • Earl Burns
    • First Mate
    • Mancha Roja
    • Big Brain Brin
    • Gracie
    • Iron Skeeter

    RESSERS

    • Molly
    • Necrotic Machine
    • Death Rider
    • Archie
    • Rogue Necromancy
    • Forgotten Marshall
    • Philip and the Nanny

So like in the other thread mentioned, i had some problems with the Crewbuilding since the Infamous Keyword lacks some cheap models and i dont like wrestler very much, so i tried out an elite crew. My Opponent took a similar approach and so we ended in a 7 vs 7 battle. It was my first time with Zipp and i think he is still very powerfull. Dropping a hell lot of pianos to block charge lines and los or auras seems to be very good, unfortunatley, molly can eat those markers to drraw 2 cards, so i think it was not the best match up for him. First Mate and Big Brain Brin are both really strong models and i have never regret bringing them to day. It was my first time with mancha and he also brought a lot of work in. I dont think if i would bring him out of keyword, maybe against marker heavy crews, but with all the piano support, he was a beast. I overextended a bit with the iron skeeter in turn one, so he got killed by archie and the rider pretty fast so i cant really say anything about him.
Overall, the game ended in a pretty close 5-4 win for the Bayou. I got 3 Points out of the strat and 2 from Harness the Leyline. Could not score Detonate Charges. My Enemy also got 3 Points from the Strat and one from Outflank. BBB and Gracie were able to tank long enough so he could not score a single point from claim jump.

Anyone using Mancha this edition or he a dead model again?

I tryed him out on tuesday and he did a lot of work. First turn he killed a forgotten marshall, thanks to zipp putting him in range, second turn he killed the punk zombie (dont know how those are called nowadays), turn 3, archie wanted to mess with mancha, mancha survived and killed Archie, turn 4 he killed the necrotic machine.

  9. I have not played the new Big Hats since i hate to play with proxies. That said i cant wait for georgy and olaf and the spith hog to arrive and get some games with big hat in. For me it is the most interesting looking keyword and i think it might also the one with the highest skill-cap. The options you have seem uncountable

  10. Hey guys,

I am having a match tomorrow and i decided to try out m3e zipp.

As he was one of the strongest masters in m2e in my opionon, i used to play him a lot back then, however i have some struggles to see the value of his keyword.

Wrastlers really doesnt look that good to me. Iron skeeter seems solid but i dont think that i want to use more than one. I really dig first mate, he looks super good and i have already tried him out in tricksy where he did an awesome job. Not so sure about mancha roja tho.

Have you already tryed out our most favorite sky pirate? Any hidden synergies or obvious recommandations for infamous? Lets have a talk fellow bayouans :)

  11. Just wait a few years, maybe in M6E we are going to be the 50mm base faction.

On a more serious note, it is like scoffer said. We didnt see Alphonse yet, but his infused Body ability and the one where he can grow indicates that he is just one of Wongs crazy magical experiments. The spit hog are normal size gremlins, carrying big roasted pigs. Olaf seems just a bit oversized to me, but Georgy  riding on him makes him even bigger.

If you look on a map of Malifaux, the Bayou is pretty pretty big and i would have been surprised if there was just one big gremlin. Since the Jones are located right at the border, Lenny must have been one of the first big gremlins society have seen.

  12. Suuuure, sorry, forgot about the upgrade.
My enemy did not know about big brain brin, we havent played much of m3e yet except a few beta games which, in all honesty, kinda destroyed our meta here.
Did not know about TT Emissary being the hard counter to BBB myself, but good to know for future matches.

    • Hold up their Forces
    • Outflank

    BAYOU

    • Mah Tucket
    • Little Lass
    • Big Brain Brin
    • First Mate
    • Bushwhacker
    • Rooster Rider
    • Rooster Rider
    • Rooster Rider + Inferiority Complex

    TEN THUNDERS

    • Yokou Hamasaki
    • Chiyo Hamasaki
    • Bill Allgren
    • Lust
    • Gwyneth Maddox
    • Kunoichi
    • Geisha
    • Wandering River Monk
    • Shadow Effigy

My first game against the new TT Master as well as my opponents first time with the new TT Master. He did not really know what to do against the rooster cavalry and was kind of helpless while i deleted his whole crew. After turn 3, he just had one model left, which i wanted to keep alive so i can score the second point of detonate charges. I did not lose a single modell, so we just let it go after turn 3. BBB did nothing else then standing in the deployment zone and calculating the possibilities twice each round. I think that alone and arcane reservoir are worth his points, so the rest of his card is just a little bonus. Starting the game with three rosters with 3 focus point each also feels that incredible strong that i wonder why you would ever hire less then three when you play tricksy.
