Welcome to Wyrd. They don't really do release dates. Releases for the month usually hit store shelves in the last week of the month.

And that is 'store shelves for brick and mortar stores that bother to order from places that get it in stock on the early end or do direct ordering'.  Online vendors (like minimarket/etc) and places that don't order from places that get the product fast will prolly be a week or 2 into the month after release.

From what I remember of book 1, the Viks becoming the Vics wasn't all that dramatic in terms of Sculpt. One of the never born tried to use a doppelganger to replace Viktoria, and for reasons ( I can't rememebr exactly why) the replacement ended up being linked to Viktoria. (Although  the doppleganger changing shape could be good)

Haha yeah same. It was what, a conversation on a train car where they're just just 'im you and you're me'.  Still tho!

  3. I'd be more intersted in the viks becoming the viks (so the mimic becoming a sister) more the masamune, but maybe that's just cause that's a better vik2 sculpt ;)

If we're doing alternates in addition to main story points, a version of 'tara' where someone else won the competition would be interesting, similar with the whole marlene/serena/vogol (but i'd prefer to stay with masters than enforcers).

Or you know, what I really want 'what if they didn't turn undercover reporters to be an enforcer and used the 2 person horse minions sculpt' (c'mon... do it...)

I've slowly been aquiring Eels as a lot of places seem to have those still lying around (and it feels like you need a lot of them even if you only hire one) but the Egg Clutch is unfortunately eluding me, maybe Wyrds black friday will have some. I imagine there is a limited market for them but the product I'd love to see wyrd make available for ToS when they next do some releases would be additional faction markers (tide pools, portals, minefields etc) and additional plastic markers. The ones that came with the Kickstarter are great.

Agreed, I'd love to see more markers / etc and those kickstarter acrylic tokens were amazing (just wish i got strats / etc with the same material).  If wyrd produced some acrylic tokens for things I'd buy the hell out of em.

One thing about markers.  I really like what wyrd did at gencon, where they got coin cases and put the strategy / shaken / pinned / etc tokens in them.  It was mostly for the pandemic / ease of cleaning / sanitizing, but it really made those paper tokens pop.  While I have a (few) sets of those kickstarter tokens (2 from the kickstarter and 2 more i bought when i saw them pop up on ebay) I also bought some coin cases for my ToS starter and wrapped those up, as can never have too many tokens and they look real nice.

  5. There's also been rumbling about new alligiance boxes coming out 'soon', which would be a perfect time for sites like mini to really get back in as if they do release 3kingdoms or kimon that's a lot more product than the starter and binh/Thrace... Tho that will be a bit more in the future.

I'm glad I bought up the factions I didn't have when people were selling it off last year so I don't have to hunt now....

I think the debate is on "moves through" and impassable.

The Errata for Hazardous terrain came in saying that if you resolve an action whilst in base contact with a hazardous marker you take the damage, but you have to move through it to take the damage from non action moving, and since you can't move through an impassable marker Anya pushing you will never take damage from a geode. Some people think this is unintended and confusing (it creates situations with different results).

You need more than Anya and a Surveyor to do 3 hazardous damage in a single push, but its not impossible... I think you can get it to 5 in explorers if you really try, but it does involve several ook hires...

Pretty much.  If pushing into base with a geode procs it, then anya + a surveyor can get 3 auras off (field of steel / geode / expansionist).

The Kirai specific one had appeared in the articles but the other ones are all new. Thanks for posting them.

My understanding on envoys is that if i take court as an envoy I can equip the court assets to court models but cannot include court strategies in my deck (which is probably for the best, Anchor to reality looks like it could be pretty nutty with Gibbering Hordes)

Hmmm, not sure i'd go too hard into a combined arms force of Gibbering Hordes+Court of Two but I can definitely see myself taking Into Mist on Binh (Gibbering have a lot better crow triggers than they do mask triggers) and possibly a unit of Gwisin. Plus keeping it to a small number of envoy units the Gibbering Hordes own glory condition should just keep the court fireteams nicely topped up on reinforcement tokens to glory themselves pretty quickly without too much worry.

Yeah I think you're right with the envoy card.  And yea, same, not quite sure I'm going to go too deep into a combined hordes / burning man  + court, the box really feels more like its geared towards building court lead team... which is good and bad, good cause its fun to play something new, but bad cause it just makes me feel like I'd want even more court models so I could main it.

I do wonder how Kirai / Sonnia feel with the reduced hiring script.  Kirai seems like she could make it back a bit with the summons but still...

  8. I think the ToS starter box is pretty ok.  That comes with the caveat that Im wayyyy harder on the Kirai / Sonnia models than I am with the rest of them because they're masters.  If they were rank and file people I would be like 'these things happen, aw well' (as seen by the huckster who would give Kirai a run for her money in the long neck department).  With that in mind I'd rank both Sonnia / Kirai a bit lower than the rest of the box sculpt wise, but I also really love my alt metal Sonnia, so it'll take a lot for me to replace her.  Of the 2 I think I actually like ms long neck a bit more as I'm not crazy about the fire hands on Sonnia and feel like I can use the low detail on Kirai's face to my advantage with some well applied blacklining.

That said, I'm also coming from painting a metal gremlin over the weekend, and all I can say is I wish those faces had WAY LESS definition as I ended up resorting to putting a dollop of plastic putty in an eyesocket so I could paint the face without wanting to die.

I think if anything my biggest regret with this set is I've yet to see people go nuts and paint them up really well.  I think once some nice ones come out people will be less upset overall.

In Malifaux? I'm not sure why. I'm sure we will see more KE appearing as they tie the games together more. FWIW I'm actually pro that and love the models. I'm just not sure Wyrd's customer base are screaming out for more British representatives.

In case you missed the previous thread, he just wants to complain about how there needs to be more British models in Malifaux.  The best option is to not engage and wait for the Mods to lock the thread.

  10. I know its a bit unpopular... but I'd almost say you have to do it all yourself.

Not that I wouldnt help (and havent started similar things before on my own..), just more that what I consider high / med / low may be different than you.  So I'd almost prefer 1 person (who may not have total knowledge of the new titles / crews they dont play) than 7 people if only because they'll use the same ranking system.  Cause I just mentioned it to my boyfriend and their initial comment (as a J player) was 'both j's are anti summon as the marshal keyword is anti summon'.  I on the other hand would probably rank neither as anti summon (unless J2 is getting an anti-summon tag as summons are places, and if they're within j's aura they'll take damage, but i'd rather call that out as 'anti place tech' than summon).  Same with stuff like AoE.  If one master has 'sweeping strike' as a trigger, and another has 2 shockwaves, are they both 'AoE' worthy call outs?  What about maxine with a aoe forced movement?  Does it tick off both boxes, or is it more movement than AoE?  Obviously there's

And of course giving it out to others will spawn a bunch of other questions that should be called out like 'unresisted damage (cadmus, various triggers)' 'free suits (siphon power, price of progress, etc)' etc.

will absolute zero generate a ice pilar from a strategy marker?  I think it does since you can target those markers to be removed anyway. is just that it doesnt happen

    From the core rules

Strategy Markers cannot be affected by the effects of models (such as moving, removing, or targeting) except by those effects which are specifically called out in the Strategy.

The 'such as' makes it clear moving / removing / targeting aren't the only actions so I say no as euripideas action is a models effect.

To clarify, the things that I think are probably overtuned (but have only played one game)

    • The TNs are just so darn efficient (especially when you account for Beebe picking up two extra cards that are high enough to meet those TNs).
      • I think Beebe is probably a near auto-take in the pools you want this Nexus.
    • The huge amount of AP just means you're able to find a way to do what you want to do.
      • Especially since the models can obey each other.
    • The huge amount of AP puts out quite a bit of activation pressure.
      • When you throw in Archivist, the crew feels quite oppressive.

So overall, I think if we see nerfs to the ES super-friends, maybe this crew will feel a bit more reasonable (although still wildly powerful).

Feels like nexus is deep in a 'damned if you do/dont' path.  Not saying she's not generally ovetuned, but there's been so much ink spilt talking about how her og is op, that it felt like there were only 2 ways the secondary title was going to go, do something interesting and get hated on for being another op nexus, or punish it for og and make it worthless cause people don't like playing against the og form and don't mind that the 2nd title is something noone would want to play.

Surprisingly it seems to of fallen more to option 1 than 2, which is a good sign for me / the game.  Does the keyword still need nerfs to bring both forms into something more manageable? Sure, but least the devs / testers didn't seem to want to nerf the new keyword models into the ground cause 'theyre strong enough as it is, so they don't deserve anything worthwhile'

Which, is something I think the community needs to work more on with new stuff in general (nexus or not).  Posting threads about stuff being over/under tuned. Sure, go for it.  But they can easily turn into 'what were the devs even thinking, this is so fucking stupid' which just seems a shitty way to try and make a point as it just makes the community toxic.  As while getting models fun to play against is a noble idea, it has to be balanced with keeping them fun to play.

Not calling out anyone specifically (or even in this thread tbh), just more something to be aware of.  Constructive criticism / politeness beats expletive filled rant.

The best advice is to just play as many games as you can and get a feel for it, or give examples of things played in your meta and we could try to offer insights.

For instance, Pandora 2 may be a bit weaker into Reva at a guess, because Vincent offers a bit of a threat to the summons.

Agree here, this is the best advice, more games will help you decide 'heres what I think is priority 1 for each title which makes it easier for you to day 'oh if I see y across the board I won't enjoy it'

Like as maniacal says, if summons are your #1 reason to bring Pandora2 then anti summons are going to be a bad time.

That said, personally I don't expect every title to be a 'in this pool I x and this pool I y'.  More often than not I'll assume a single title will click and be an 80/20 or a 100/0 split for a player rather than a 50/50.  Pandora could be 50/50 for you, but also don't feel bad if you end up preferring one or the other.

The first thing that sprang into my head was Snake oil salesman. Medicinal Compound, efficacious in every case!

Yes. But different crossovers would mean different crossover models. To be honest

With Tanuki, Fermented River Monks and now Shojo bring TT it and like they're trying to suck Brewmaster back in. Surprised She long want the cross over either. Qi would have been pretty far down my list of guesses.

Like performer and woe. Definitely would have guessed Performer and Qi first.

My general point is that, for a lot of the pairings, it seems more like a random pairs were picked then an enforcer designed to bridge the themes rather than picking Masters that already have similar themes to be boxed together.

Some so far have been pretty far out... but honestly I'm fine with that, for 2 reasons

    1. If all of the 'logical' ones were paired up, the remaining ones may be even more illogical than the ones we've seen
    2. A lot of the logical ones already have crossover models

For me, the second point is why I'm pretty happy that some of these pairings are beyond strange.  While McMourning / McCabe is still a head scratcher, it at least makes me excited to see something new that bridges those 2 keywords in interesting ways.  Comparatively, seeing another Mei / Mah crossover model just made me say 'great another tricksy/foundry model, put it on the pile of the rest of them that work better in one keyword or the other'

My guess is Euripides with Rasputina, wich would have all the sense.

I honestly think the pairings must have been picked from a hat. I would have sworn Mcmourning and the only other poison Master Brewmaster would end up sharing a model.

Looking at the mcmourning + brewmaster cards, while they both use poison, it really feels like wyrd is trying to keep 'booze poison' and 'poison poison' separate, which ... i guess helps explain it....?  But I'm no where near focused enough on the fluff differences and just want my poison masters to get crossover models! ha.

thats why i made my own faction deck by frankensteining 4 faction decks and 1 m3e core deck together.... im sure noone ever wants me to use it tho...

Because you have 4 red jokers and no weak cards or because they have different backs? :D

I made my own too, just printed pictures etc. on an old guild starter deck, I glued the severes on to the weak cards to fool fate.

For the record it would be 5 rj-ers ;) .  But nah, with card sleeves with opaque backs the card back issue is solved, I just feel weird using it cause I figure everyone would assume I added / removed a card or 2 in the process, and don't feel like having to explain myself / do a card count every game, ha.  I also wasn't crazy about the classic rezz/guild/nb/arcanist pairing, which is why I'm working to make my own where i can drop rezzers/nb for factions I like more.
