  1. Yea, a model with an 8" Ranged gun can hit reliably 2-3 targets with a weapon that can hit models in 2" AOE...

Man, I really want to play against the same opponents than you. In my meta having models not stacked against enemys with blasts is no-brainer.

But I suppose not everyone is the same.

Anyways, I thought this post was to talk about Ashes & Dust and Alyce, not to complain about any other model you dislike.

I Think we will see Tiri as an Outcast/Explorer Guild master and Kastore as a Rez/Neverborn master. Everyone else falls more squarely into a single faction, or seems too from previous releases and styles.

Then Never would have 4 dual masters and Bayou only 2.

Although I agree with this being one of the best options.

What I fear is Returned being Outcast (or Outcast-Resser) since I have the feeling of that "healing above full heal" is gonna be the crew mechanics, and I'm not very attracted to it.

    resser/neverborn - returned keyword

But Neverborn also has already 3 dual masters in Marcus, Lucius and Zoraida.

The factions with only 2 Dual Masters are Outcast, Bayou, Resser and ES, and Outcast already has Dual Master with both Resser and Bayou.

But there is no good reason a dust storm should be able to do the strategy when a summoned shikome or rat catcher can't.

Well, you don't pay for a summoned Shikome doesn't you lose any model to summon it. Also its 2ss cheaper than A&D and still comparable at beating things (if not plain better).

And also isn't really a lot squishier than A&D for its 2ss discount.

Still not sure why you mention Shikome and Rat Catcher specifically in this case. There's no other model designed to die and split like A&D, it's not like you summon a Dust Storm 30" Away. You pay 9ss for an 8wd no defensive tech scheme runner with underwhelming mobility (just two actions of mv 7 and a useless bonus unless you face a crew that drops scrap markers)

What are you paying 9ss for?

There's no good reason for the summon to skip the token (just for the Ashes and Dust to not have a token).

It's a 9ss scheme runner designed to work with the demise shenanigan. That's the good reason to skip the summon token.

    9ss

    8wd

    No defensive tech.

    Very situational bonus action.

They lowered its damage output because it was too high for a it's cost. Which was understandable. It became a situational hire. It wasn't included in most of the list before the summon token nerf.

Now it's even worse than before.

Part of the reason they were too strong was because they could teleport a schemer across the map.

Soulstone Miner does exactly that with a 30% discount.

Doing something like teleporting across the map and picking up a symbol could be too trivial

It's still a summoned model, so still can't do this the same turn it appears.

  6. Sooo...

Not really sure about your 1st turn. Mine with VS1 use to be 2 actions (plus triggers if possible) on load up and one action walking. My opponent usually is not as kind to approach a target into 14-18" Inches of Von Schill.

The idea of an enemy inside Von Schill's 2 threat range to leap, charge and attack 3 times feels also a bit unreal to me.

Although it can be obviously our metas.

  7. It would be as easy as giving Dust Storm some ability like

Parts of the Whole: This model may not be hired. After this model is Summoned, remove any Summon Tokens from it.

It keeps being a 9ss scheme runner hard to kill but not very reliable at fighting.

By now, he's a 9ss scheme runner stupidly easy to "kill" (Only 8 wounds no defensive tech, it doesn't really dies, but stops scoring).

I agree that changing Drop It would probably be ideal, but it's on like a dozen cards across half the factions in the game. I don't think they've ever made such a sweeping change. Changing the Bandidos and Parker2 so that they don't need LOS to the marker just seems logistically more likely to me.

I agree with doubting Wyrd change Drop It, but...

Yes, it would mean to change a lot of cards across the game.

    So what?

I doubt Wyrd spends a lot of resources/money on that.

I'm quite sure players would LOVE to change a lot of cards to make Drop It work.

Drop It problem is not only "we cannot exploit our shenanigans". Is "we could be perfectly helping our enemy to score/deny our score". It's simply stupid.

  9. No good person can be friends with an evil innocent-torturer like Sonnia, so you can erase LJ from that list.

I would add Molly and Reva, who seem the nicest people in Malifaux.

And Tara and Karina are also quite nice, but only with each other ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  10. Not sure how Alyce has become from Mv-6 is superstrong and need nerf to mv-4 is superbad, she needs mv-5 + ignore FF/Concealing/cover.

Still don't own amalgam crew, so have no experience with her, but I would love to see Von Schill recovering his old gun, you know, the one that Alyce has.

  11. I'm not saying that Scavengers are bad now, because I don't think so.

I think both nerfs were deserved, and even needed. Just think that Necropunk's one gone too far. Less than 25% chance of leaping from the deck is a huuge blow. Their only role is to be an scheme runner, and now they're not very good. Playable, of course, but mediocre.

  12. Sorry, no more pseudo-leap, no more focus+fast, almost unseen out of keyword.

It was undoubtedly a needed nerf, but it was a clear nerf.

I think Necropunks were too much nerfed, maybe they could have a trigger like this

:tomeResourceful: immediately, add any suit of your choice to this model's final duel total.

Or maybe a :+flipto their leap.

They were too good before, bit now they're too mediocre IMHO.

  13. I think worse nerf to Leveticus is nerf to both Scavenger and Necropunk. He's gone from having two reliable high-mobility minions to none.

I've always thought that he wasn't so good to deserve a nerf, because all the changes to him had made him worse (remember not only his Attack Stat change, but many other things).

  14. As it's been said, more expensive minions are gonna be the ones who wear the upgrades above cheaper ones.

I, as Outcast player, can't think of playing Hamelin or Daw without SoDP, and with Daw always comes a Hanged with SoDP also (I'm not really a fan of repeating models in a crew).

But if upgrades had a discount for cheaper models, I probably would give a try to cheap scheme runners with WC or maybe a pair of tormented with SoDP and have more terrifying models spread in the crew.

Still, WC and SfH feels too expensive for what they give.
