Ok, no toughness is a no go on them 😛

Thrace can't command the Walker robot to fire though.

Ugh. Didn’t catch that. She has to target a squad keyword which is on the non walker units. Although she could get them to fire more tracer rounds so the walkers  av is high I think.

  2. My opponent didn’t put toughness on the rhinos this go around. I think I caught one rhino pre glory and one after. I kept a high tome back in case. It was his first time seeing the cutters so I doubt he will make the mistake again.

The walkers ability to add a suit for every margin +2 lends itself to easy card draw. And he shot quite a bit between Kansa and Thrace.

  3. Interesting 2 commander game versus cult last evening. I really just wanted to try my new models, but it turned out to be pretty tough against cult.

    Objective Scavenge

    Commander - Kassa & Unathi

    Thrace

    Cutter & Walker teams

    Electrocutioners

    Dreadnaught

    Engineers mixed in

CrowRunners summoned Turn 3 with behind enemy lines.

keep the commanders back and using them to add tokens, take extra prototype actions & regular actions can be pretty ugly. Cutter versus Rhinos = dead rhinos.

Very elite setup but more effective than I expected it to be.  ECB and breachling could both do damage, but never enough that I couldn't recover during upkeep or keeping a crow back for unathi's reinforce.

Anyone else have a titan setup that works out well?

I am aware about the limitations. One action of Unathi gives them a reinforcement token and the trigger lets them use it immediately.

I am mostly speaking about the Combined Arms fireteams. That is seven models, so three reinforcements are necessary to bring them from one model to full again. Also, two are enough to bring them to almost full fighting strength, as the first fills up the fireteam, while the second brings back the titan and the second fireteam. It gets more ridiculous in combination with A Lion among Gazelles, which is a shame. I would really like to use this stratagem on the Lord of Steel, but it is so much better on Unathi, because he keeps my troups alive.

Wait you can reinforce and bring the titan back in combined arms fire teams?

  5. Good summary - No disagreements. I found I used mehal sefari alot when i started out, but now with access to everything alot less. I think the interaction with champions and tactics tokens is nice in the right situation.

Elite is our thing. I never seem to have as many units as other folks on the board, but they always have a very difficult time killing anything unless they focus a fair amount of effort on it.

I haven't tried this on Electrocutions but now that you point that out....I'll have to give it a shot.

Mauraders - Cheap mobility scheme runner or their heavy machine with base strength 4 is pretty amazing against low df opponents. I really need to pick up a 2nd one for certain situations.

I've yet to field Kasa - all three titan units main stays with her?

  6. I'm not a huge fan of any of the outcast upgrades currently except for soldier for hire which is useful at times. I'm with you on the minion side, but I get the feeling they didn't want to accidentally buff enforcer+ and this made balancing easier at this stage.

  7. I've played against KE twice and I'll admit they can be a massive headache, but I feel we can be competitive in a single commander game.

Rifle core is always a headache for me, anything I can do to neuter them helps tremendously. They love to go after easy kills to get into glory quicker.

Armor helps, as does our ability to have alot of card draw and additional attacks via engineer and prototypes. I had some luck with the railgunner assuming I can keep them alive.

I wouldn't worry too much, frankly.

Leveticus' expanded hiring is no more.

It broke the design process about thirty times too many.

This makes me very sad. Also helpful since I can stop buying models for him :( I really should ask this in the gremlins forum but just in case you are still watching, does this mean mama Z is loosing her ability to hire WP <= 4 folks as well?

  9. I'm torn on so many of these. Trying to stay optimistic until more facts roll in.

Hamelin - I never thought I'd like this guy and now I find myself wishing I'd play him anytime I play something else. I have a bad feeling he's going to loose alot of his rat love in interest of  balance. I'm against pass tokens at this point. I loved the concept of balancing more ap that did less versus less ap that did more. (Elite versus non-elite crews).

Viks - I'd like them to be a bit less one trick pony, but you can't deny their style and I hope they keep it.

VS - My original master. Wave 5 made me want to play him again.

Daw - 2nd master. Love his curses, disliked how squishy he'd become. I like the idea of dual faction rezzers. I already used quite a few due to the tormented keyword.

Parker - I always wanted him to be as cool as his theme. Maybe 3E will deliver.

Zipp - My 2nd faction is gremlins and I'm just starting to play him. It's hard to tell what he'll be like in outcasts until we get a better feel for keyword stuff.

Levi - If they take away his ability to hire undead/constructs, I think he'll loose alot of his unique flavor.

MIsaki - Bleh I always prefered the Viks anyway.

Tara - I actually think the rezzers should have taken her full time.

  10. I can add some for and against

Daw versus Gremlins - Reckless let's them work around his curses. Also not against Ten Thunders - their easy access to focus = dead daw.

VS versus Rezzers/Blasters - I've had decent luck with.

Levi - Not against arcanist. If you end up with Marcus and some of his alpha nonsense, levi = liability.

Hamelin - As others mentioned, he really doesn't have a bad matchup as long as you have options in his crew.

  11. I'm watching the folks on facebook discuss adjusting some of the stronger masters. One of which is adjusting Plague Pits. Is anyone else finding this upgrade earth shattering? It's really good for 1 stone, but against good players I find it rarely nets much blight. They use less important models to remove it turn 1 and unless the board has some nice choke points they use careful movement to avoid it. One of the proposals is to only allow one blight from it a turn? Or I'd ponder bumping it to two stones. Thoughts?

  12. I thought I'd find hamelin boring when I first started, but that hasn't been the case. To use the rats as activation control is easy. To manuever them where they are most effective is always a challenge to me. Particularly in GG18 where taking hamelin means giving up some points easily if you aren't careful with your engine.

Never tried the nothing beast with hamelin yet. He seems to be gaining favor with quite a few masters these days.

  13. I like A&D in Wagons but even that isn't set in stone these days.

I've had opponents slow the rat engine down by sniper or blasts, but I figure the model/ap trade off is worth is usually worth it. The only time it's become an issue is when I lacked cards to summon two stolen.

I tend to add a beater or two, and either midnight stalker or a few something else to run schemes. Benny frequently makes the cut, the other slot could be just about any of the outcast all stars depending on the other faction.
