@Impact UK If the models I received were anything like the ones you describe then I would undoubtedly be as miffed as you and quite possibly more so...to the point that I think I would have contacted Wyrd with a couple of photos to demand replacements or money back....like you say it must be down to quality control as it seems hit or miss as to whether models are assembled properly or not...in my own case I guess myself and others just got lucky as it were....

...in the spirit of my origin post however ,so that curious onlookers shouldn't be put off, and in no way making light of others misfortune I would add that as disappointing and frustrating as the badly assembled examples are it must still be an overall minority of cases otherwise this forum would surely be burning down with thousands and thousands of people who signed up to the Kickstarter all wielding pitchforks and demanding their money back

I Made my Submission on the 2nd January and other than the automated reply I have heard nothing from Wyrd.  It is important also that any casual on looker sees that Wyrd are doing very little about the quality control.

So Wyrd are currently backing up there poor quality control with poor customer service, our Gibbering Hordes player made his submission for the missing legs in 2 of his kits on the same day and had a reply over a week ago (the parts are in the post now apparently) and Our Abyssina players submission was on the 7th January and they got back to him within a couple of days.

This gives the impression that Wyrd have no intention on rectifying the issue of poorly assembled and incorrectly assembled models.

I write this in the hope that anyone curious about the game does not get put off by one or two negative comments....

I signed up for Dual Commander,  had to wait quite a while along with everyone else and then eventually received over one hundred pre assembled models

Fact #1 The PVC models are as close to their 3D renders as any Malifaux model - period

Fact #2 On opening the box the PVC at its finest points e.g. bayonets, rifle barrels can arrive bent out of shape and initially seem too flexy...BUT...as mentioned here in forum announcements...all you have to do is dunk the bent part in hot (not boiling) water ,reshape it and then dunk it in cold water....no more bent parts...I have straightened out both Field Intelligence Corps and Royal Rifle Corps using this technique and they remain sorted...no flexing back with the added advantage that they can NOT break...the bayonets alone wouldn't have lasted five minutes in regular hard plastic

Fact #3 The Titans do indeed have large gaps that need filling but I also accept that if I want a complicated, pre assembled sculpt there will be some work to do just as there is with the far smaller models we build for Malifaux....the Titans are SO much bigger than anything in Malifaux...at the same time they are not Japanese injection moulded kits...they come in grey plastic and you CAN play them straight out the box...my assumption is though that most people will paint them...as such priming and filling is just a normal part of that process...yes my Gorysche had to be filled and filled again....but pardon the pun when I say that it is an absolute monster sizewise...easy to work on

Fact #4 The claim that the PVC can not hold detail like hard plastic just  doesn't hold up...Wyrd have clearly done their homework when choosing the blend used...once primed it holds paint as well as Malifaux and as evidenced on my painting table it doesn't crack if flexed...and I know that for a fact because I am trying it out as I go

To conclude - I'm sorry when I read someone coming down so hard on a game they don't actually own....I for one am totally happy with what I received - in all honesty it exceeded my expectations....and I am already waiting with baited breath for the release of models I don't own yet

Firstly with the model in the original post, after disassembling the one my friend got and putting it back together correctly we had no gaps to fill.  Nothing is wrong with the model it had just been assembled poorly.

In the case of my South Wales Boarders, who ever assembled them was just sticking things in whatever place they wanted.  Parts glued in the wrong place and even parts glued on the wrong side.

With the Royal Rifle Corp I had a number of legs glued in the wrong position.

We have a big issue that has nothing to do with the quality of the models as they are great but if Wyrd need to stop sending out the garbage they have been.  Many of these models should not get past quality control due to poor and incorrect assembly.

I got my KS Pledge today,

I am shocked by the quality of the miniatures. The plastic is totally rubbery and the miniatures are crooked and bent accordingly. The already assembled parts are extremely dilemma glued together and have huge gaps between the parts.
Especially with my Alpha Crawler you have the impression of having cheap toys and no tabletop miniature.

Wyrd has always been for me high-quality tabletop miniatures with the highest degree of detail, this illusion has just been destroyed. I have received a large box of toys and am extremely disappointed.

Looks very much like the model my friend got, we spent 2 hours taking it apart and putting it together properly.  It seems that quality control is very poor at them moment.

I've had similar issues with models that have arms glued in incorrect positions, resulting in guns being twisted and not being able to correct the twist without disassembling and reassembling (which I refuse to do for preassembled minis, so will be raising a support ticket).

Also a few parts fell off in shipping (while disappointing this isn't unreasonable and I'm happy to fix these myself), and some parts are missing (one of my skulkers is entirely missing his arms). This has me worried and I have to find time to go back through everything and double check before I raise my support ticket.

I have only had a small piston missing on one model but our Gibbering Hordes player has had 2 boxes with missing components.

Weird, I haven't heard of that before. Got any examples?

Yes I do, I had a couple of problems with the Royal Rifle Corps with legs on the knelt down models, legs not glued in the correct position and a couple of arms not quite right.  I fixed these little issues and just moved on.

The big problem is the South Wales Boarders box that came with 3 models incorrectly built.  One model had the weapons on the arms on the wrong side and the piston on the underside of the arm was not in the correct place.  The next one had pistons on the arms just sticking out and looking very stupid, then the last one had pistons sticking out in the wrong places and the pistons not even attached to anything at the back.

Also had a head on one of the models devoid of detail (looks like glue melted most of the face off), Link to the photos South Wales Boarders.  Now after many hours I have fixed the problems to make the models presentable but this is beside the point, if I am paying to have per-assembled models then they should be assembled correctly.

    Any updates on this?

I've been spoiled by the Bad Things Happen app, and now feel that adding up my own list costs and manually flipping for operation are too primitive!

Agreed, I'm very much looking forward to seeing some progress on the app.

  7. I’ve been so busy that dropping by the forums has been hard to do, I have not had time to play much of anything but am planning to jump back into M2e and get the most out of the game before M3e drops.   Also getting ready for some ToS this weekend.

One of the only things that bothered me about third edition is the way mcm has left.  Not that he left, it fits both the storyline and he never felt right in guild.  But that he released an upgrade that encouraged a lot of out of faction purchases that will be useless to your average guild player.  I managed to side it, but if that was you, I'm sorry for you.

I thought Yea McMorning would be cool as it gave Guild for me and Resser for the wife, as it turns out I think I got to use McMorning about twice as my dear wife hogs most of the models out of that box 😭

But I tend to get things on the rule of cool so if it is an out of faction model I probably purchased it more to build and paint than play in the first place.

I only have collodi and lynch so i'm a bit worried for my future with the neverborn. Just need to wait more informations on illuminated/graves/tannen/etc (keyword? nvb or 10t or both?) and dolls (which master to play them with?).

Otherwise the changes seems interesting and i'm excited for my ulix crew. (growing pigs and stampede sounds very nice).

Neverborn needed some excitement putting back into the faction, yea it sucks to lose masters but on the up side you get lots of new toys to tinker with.

I like how the story has changed the factions of some masters and I'm very much looking forward to the new addition.

As for time line I would guess that it is needing to land before the end of the year, hobbyists like me will continue to buy models but I would Imagine that the gamer's are going to be holding back wanting to see the rules before spending their money.

I've heard rumors PP almost went bankrupt during mk1->mk2 transition. I hope Wyrd knows what they are doing. M3E is probably exciting news for most players, but invalidating purchases may boost the phenomenon of 'people not buying new models during transition' quite a bit. I don't care personally, as I will still buy models I think look cool, but many people won't.

Well Wyrd probably had this in mind and probably why they did not want to announce it just yet, but I am with you on rule of cool comes first and rules come second.

The only Guild master I have is Perdita. I like the Wild West look. If that really is Basse on that art with 3 characters and what looks suspiciously like Dashel in the middle, the badass with the coat and huge rifle, I’ll very likely have a second Guild crew.

This is suppose to be like Pokemon "You've gotta collect them all" LoL, If you like the gun slinging wild west look then this guy should fit right in.
