Chapter 1: Welcome to Last Chance

"Look at all the fancy folk in front of the town hall Sheriff! Are you sure the we are safe with all them here?" "Normally I'd have shot them all on sight Mayor but the order was clear, everyone is welcome in Last Chance. Humans, gremlins....things. The Governor-General was clear he wants Last Chance to show Malifaux everyone can play nice together"

ayor Cheddington scratched his chin and mused on. The Governor-General had appointment him directly and knew of his particular....skills. In fact that was probably why he hired him. Of course Mattheson had disproved but then he always did and at some point he would need to deal with his spies that were surely out there. Still, it was a powder keg waiting to happen out there....

"And what if they don't all play nice Sheriff?" He asked. The sheriff tipped his hat and winked "Then it's a bullet or a noose for them. If they are unlucky then first it will be one...then the other"

The Mayor couldn't help but chuckle. "I best go and address them...tell them how the town works and all that"

Chapter 2 – Mayor! Pete got shot by some trigger happy lowlifes...oh and we found this weird crystal, look....

“I don’t get it Sheriff...how can we have been here only 5 minutes and these crystals suddenly appear everywhere??  Already it’s made a bunch of them start trouble.  Just “map it out” I said...oh well, someone had to use Doc since he came out here I guess.  Is this what happened the last time?” muttered the still freshly sworn in Mayor of Last Chance.

“Well, everybody was either murdered by a crazy person or became a crazy person last time so we don’t rightly know.  Hard to think it’s a coincidence though which when...” replied the Sheriff before he saw the Mayors face and stopped abruptly.

The Mayor didn’t speak.  He didn’t feel like speaking.  He felt like ripping someone’s arms off and using them to beat him to death. He had been interrupted yesterday by someone bringing him one of the strange crystals and he had tried to use one of powers to make them rapidly go away but found he couldn’t.  It was like a cold bucket of water had been thrown on his soul.  It was needlessly perplexing so he ordered them to be banned from the town.  Sure he could see a use for them in the Guild prisons but right now he needed to get himself established here first.  That said Mattheson and the Governor General would know about these “null crystals” (he was proud of the name he had given them) soon enough so he needed to act fast to find out some more about them.

He pulled himself to his feet and finally addressed the Sheriff again.  “Round up the crews Sheriff, we need to know more about these crystals but I’ll be damned if I’m going looking for them myself”

    Bonus Event:

A dead zone is a Ht 0 3” by 3” severe terrain piece.  Each player takes turns (starting with the away player) placing one Dead Zone anywhere in a table quarter and at least 3” from another Dead Zone until each quarter has one.  Whilst in base contact with a Dead Zone models may not take Ca actions and are immune to Ca actions.

When a players model which at least in base contact with a Dead Zone kills or sacrifices an opposing model, that player gains 2 Scrip

    Mike 3 v 2 Kev
    Chris 3 - 3 Key
    Rob 2 - 1 Tom
    Andy 6 - 5 Aaron

What was reaaaaaaaaaaaaally interesting to see at the end of game 2 on the Barter Flip...... Two Red Jokers.... Weeks 3-6 should be interesting!

Biggest struggle I had on the night was players who simply hadn't put the practice in (despite me banging the drum repeatedly in the months leading up to it!!)

I'll try to grab updated Arsenal Sheets end of Week 4

@Jam_Sandwich, @Myyrä: jeez, both your experiences suck. I'm slightly concerned I may not receive my order before GenCon 2017!

Jam - my brother is on your rock and looking for people to play against. If you want a new opponent, try getting in touch with @Manxfaux?

Being a small island I'll be surprised if @Manxfaux isn't a member of our gaming club already but I'll drop him a message just in case! Hoping to run different campaign/tournament formats regular to keep the ball rolling and you never know - he might have missed it and the more the merrier!

For a game that's never been played before here got 16 interested (which is an achievement in itself)

  3. Just come across this in my search for big tournaments to go to next year.

3 from the Isle of Man certainly interested next year!

Do you do reports of the days progress?  Be fascinated to read.
And hardly any hotels within a nearby radius. It's more middle of nowhere than my rock :D

  4. Oh if you want parcels that go on jollies I think mine was exceptional.

Bought some very expensive items, but gave them my drivers licence in order to copy my address down. As I know my hand writings scruffy...

Little did I know he'd put my destination country as Isle of Mayo....MAYO... instead of Man.
    No idea what happened there....

So it started off on it's little journey making its way to Newark Depot - YES I thought - come to poppa.

Newark Depot to Curacao... odd but ok....

Curacao to the BVI... hopping around for nearly a week.... eh?

Back to Curacao... hung there for a few days, back to Newark.

Newark to London now you'd think - they've realised there mistake....No... back to Curacao.
Then I got really shirty with the merchant and said sort this out now in very polite terms (honest)

So eventually it went Newark, London and the short leg to my rock - done :D

  5. May have lost a few competitors due to personal reasons - shall firm up the numbers on 29th when it's the deadline. Intro written though

For those who may move here in future date we're firming up plans for Gaining Grounds, Tag Team, Enforcer Brawl & the beefed up Shifting Royalties next year

  6. The Chain of Command Gaming Group based @ The All Saints Church Hall, Douglas, Isle of Man - will be hosting the first ever Manx Malifaux Campaign from September 4th over 4 successive Mondays.

Attendance at all nights isn't required (but most is certainly preferable). As myself and another campaign organiser will arrange interim games during the week should you be unable to make it.

In the interests of boosting take up of the game we're running this Campaign for free - and with slightly stripped back Shifting Loyalties rules to make them as accessible to everyone as possible.

The campaign is a narrative driven story over 4 weeks taking place over 6 games and 1 special event.
We've structured these games so as to hopefully guarantee large swings in crew scores - so hopefully even on the last day anyone can win - mainly to encourage the new players :D

So far we have 16 entrants, the majority of which have never played before so you're more than welcome to join in.
Should you browse this forum and reside in my part of the world and not be aware of the hall. Please drop me a message as you're more than welcome to join!
I'm hosting training events every Monday at the club with the aim to get everyone ready.

Nice and simple rules pack: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BxCfJFTehEqtSTZSQWQxRi1kdGc
19th August edit: Doc Rules revised/Added finished off. Will be minor tweaks as me and fellow organiser continue to play test

    Our gaming group page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/21238835102/

Despite entry being Free myself and my fellow campaign organiser are funding a prize for the overall winner and a prize for best painted.
We'd like to offer more but we're on a mad dash just trying to get sufficient terrain for 8+ tables (on top of a house renovation)...! Next year though!

For those interested I'll post a Campaign report each week in the necessary part of the forum

  7. Lilith is a easy to play in comparison to some other masters (in my opinion)

    But...

When you get used to the game - look at other models and how they can synergise with her...
You can really start getting some interesting combos going.

I eventually moved on from Lilith to other masters for some variance though.

  8. Suppose I best introduce myself having been here since February.

I started playing in the middle of last year with the sole intent of going one crew and one crew only.

So I bought Lilith and a ton of Neverborn...

    Then I bought Zoraida
    Then I bought Ophelia
    Then I bought Som'er....

    Something went wrong....

I live on the cold harsh rock that is the Isle of Man - home to the magnificent TT races!

Any questions feel free to drop me a PM (or on here)

  9. Hey Folks,

First post (I think?) so bear with me - I've scoured the internet before coming here so struggling.
I'm running our first campaign soon for our local club using the Shifting Loyalties book.

In an attempt to make everything as user friendly as possible. (nearly all entrants have never played before so got an interesting training month ahead!)
I'm wanting to take all the Skills & Equipment upgrades you can get from the campaign & put them on to cards to print. That way they can have it as a easily referred to reference when playing instead of having bundles of A4 sheets and scribbles.

Does anyone know of (or even have) a template I can pilfer with at least 4 card space/designs per A4 page? Preferably Word but if I have to go Photoshop I will.
I've worked out how to split an A4 into 4 equal sections just design it's not playing ball!

Happy to do all the typing out and printing myself for the group - just need an attractive template!
