The second of our cross-faction Masters, the stoic lawman hasn't inspired much passion in his first home, The Guild. Will he and his band of survivalists, animals, and surprisingly prolific bear traps find a more enthusiastic home among Explorer's Society players?

Paul Crockett is presently the most complicated Frontier keyworded model to obtain. You can either purchase his 2e solo release or find him in the "Primal Fury" box alongside three Arcanists models that cannot be run in Guild or Explorer's Society.

Now that we're starting to see Explorer's Society models for the keyword, here's the first of our dual-faction Masters: the disreputable 'treasure hunter' Lucas McCabe and his band of lovable sleazeballs. Already quite cozy among the Ten Thunders' fantastic Versatile models and Upgrades, will the Explorer's Society be able to tempt McCabe players across the faction line?

Keywords Frontier and Wastrel, for those curious.

@Plaag: Do you not rate Gunsmiths? You haven't scorned them specifically but you haven't really brought them up either. Are they just not good enough to warrant inclusion in the ~15ish models in the faction you like to use, or do you actually consider them bad?
-
Whoops! My bad. I've replaced the Ullr hyperlink with a new composite image depicting both sides of the card. Thanks for catching that oversight.

Asami has become one of the latter, if you’re not familiar with her model.

Been trying to think of a more useful post than "yes, I knew what a Penanggalan was before seeing Yin".
I guess one would be saying that it's nice that Malifaux has tapped into lesser known mythologies than the normal, "mainstream" sources. Asami has also been fun for this, with things like the Futakuchi-Onna and Ohaguro Bettari.

Kind of sad Plaag stopped popping into Arcanist threads at random to spit fire into the mic and then leave.

The relevant quote:
“Winston Finnigan of Winston’s Dirigibles, Aucaman of Condor Rails, Lune Heed of Alpine Firearms, the famous talent scout, Sebastian Baker…”
I enjoy how Seamus is there.

Just reinforcing the point, there's eight slots on the faction page:

Nice catch.
I look at spider lady and wonder how many of those limbs will be individual pieces...
-
I'd probably be happy just to have the Adaptive Evolution action moved onto the Mutation Upgrades, rather than just scattershot across chimera/beasts.

Yeah, check 'em:

It's an Arcanist thread so upgrades and Versatiles will differ, but retnab has a great introductory rundown of the Keyword here:
Metal Gamin and the Golem are definitely good options to have, but I wanted to let you know a 1988 version of the Metal Golem will be on sale during Black Friday, and Wyrd's at least teased the possibility of the Gamin later too.

Showgirls/Performers have always been some of my favorites as well, since we were on the topic. While not as obviously iconic as Seamus' "dead hookers" aesthetic, I think Team Colette has consistently been some of the best and most interesting sculpts every edition. They're flashy and daring (for the setting's time period) but I've never found them to be overly sexualized or tasteless. Beyond that you have very fun lore; Colette has a lot of things she's juggling, from the truly fun angle of dazzling even Guild eyes with real magic skillfully made to look like sleight of hand, to the varying demands and dangers of smuggling for the M&SU/Arcanists.
Beyond the burlesque dancer look, I think the crew is one of the most tightly-knit and empowering of them all. In many, arguably even most, keywords the Minions are as faceless in the lore as they are to us on the tabletop. But things are different at the Star Theater. From the Master all the way down to the basic Minion, the lore has always emphasized the bond between all the performers. A troupe of women (and Carlos!) banded together to obtain the wealth and freedom they'd otherwise be denied on either side of the Breach.
Let's jump all the way back to Cassandra's 1e profile; "Colette is protective of all of her girls. Cassandra protects Colette."

Funny thing is, the majority of female players start with Seamus and work from there 😊
Guilty as charged.

Seemed only fair. We talked about him plenty in the Gencon thread, but compiled here we can discuss the Keyword going forward as new models, synergies, and faction upgrades are revealed.

It's supposedly melee focused with low wounds, but a Demise ability or similar that wounds Ivan to revive it.

You may find it interesting that much more recently, Winston Finnigan got a somewhat prominent cameo in The Bold & The Desperate from the 3e Neverborn faction book.
