  1. For me, pinning seems a bit too tricky with the tiny feet on most of these models. I do something similar to what lusciousmccabe does. The round vents on the sprues are 3 mm in diameter. I drill a 3 mm hole into the base (after getting my basing done, cork, or epoxy, or bark, or whatever), then I superglue the peg into the hole, and shave the peg flush with the surface of the basing. Using plastic cement, the figure is glued to the peg. This makes a pretty tight and secure joint.

  2. Madame Sybelle is an almost auto take with Molly.  Call Belle is the main ability that you will use, and it can really help to reposition Molly. Often I'll take maniacal laugh on Molly just to get some activation control. Once you can out activate the opponent, Call Belle on Molly to reposition her close enough to the enemy that she can summon Punk Zombies right into the middle of them, then have the Punk Zombies slice and dice or flurry. It might take two rounds or so to set up properly, but boy is it worth it.

Alternatively, you can use Sybelle to get Molly out of trouble.

I also really like the Carrion Emissary. Shards can help to block fire and charge lanes. He hits quite hard, and is just great utility. I generally run him with the generic upgrade, Carrion Conflux.

I also like the Rogue Necromancy as Bengt recommended, nice ranged support, and the :+fate while it has enough heads is gravy.

At first I saw Phiona and then Nellie and thought, "Oh, they named the banditos so it is easier to keep up with them... cool!" and then I paid attention and realized that was the Printing Press at the bottom of the sprue and went, "Uh oh!"

I thought "Man this box has some scaling issues, these models look too tiny, Wait why are there tiny mechanical legs in here..."

  4. It will certainly help, but Seamus isn't really a summoner. Yes he can call forth a couple belles, but I rarely use his AP for anything but focus, shoot, back-alley. Corpses for him are useful for the distraction, to allow back-alley while in LOS. Against a true summoner like Nicodem, or Kirai, it won't really do much. Both will usually bring their own summoning engines with them. Your best bet in that case is to attack the summoner, or the engine.

Oops! Got Nelly and the Printing Press in a Fistful of Scrip instead of Parker Barrows and the gang.  I will say, that lil' printing press has 20 sharply angled pieces... so good luck to some of you!  At least the cards are good! Ha... Hmm...  maybe it won't take too long to fix.

    Yup me too.

Thanks for the info, not speaking french, I had no idea the literal translation. Now she will be forever linked in my mind with the legacy of colonial oppression, which makes her even more annoying to see on the board.

  7. I just want to make a quick post to thank Cheated Fates Joe, Dawn, and everyone at Wyrd for throwing a really fun bunch of tournaments. I participated in the evening Henchman Hardcore, one of the story encounters, and the Enforcer brawl, and it was definitely the high point of my trip. Particularly the Enforcer Brawl which was chaotic and hilarious and really, really fun.

This trip was a bunch of firsts for me, first game con, first gen con, and first tournament, and was a nice introduction. Thank you.

  8. I use these... http://www.greenstuffworld.com/en/textured-rolling-pins/135-Rolling-Pin-Hobby-Roller-Cobblestone.html and they are awesome! You just mix up an epoxy putty, put a blob on your base, and roll over it. Instant cobblestone. I know it isn't really an insert, but they really are easy to work with.

Also Renedra makes some really good gravestones. http://www.renedra.co.uk/product.php?product=119

  9. It's too bad you are having a bad experience. I don't have any connection to the company, other than I have one of their mats. But I like it enough that I would buy from them again. Hopefully you'll find some resolution to your problem.

  10. I just made a modular board, and am using a combination of magnets and screws to keep it together. The real key is that everything needs to be perfectly square. So I cut everything at the same time on a table saw to ensure that any slight error in setup on my part wouldn't translate to the final board. The board consists of several 12" x 12" squares and several 6" x 6" squares. To make the connections, I used a magnet on one end of each side, and a screw on the other.

Here's a picture of my completed board...

Here's a pic with one of the 6" sections removed...

And here's a closeup of one of the 12" sections...

On the 6" x 6" tiles I am using 1/8" cubed neodymium magnets. And on the 12" x 12" tiles I'm using 3/16" cubed neodymium magnets.

  11. I have one from playmats.eu which is excellent. The mats have bright colors, nice designs, and the deployment lines save a ton of time, not only during setup, but while playing (the center-lines are marked). The material of mine is what they call Black-Flat, which is just a type of vinyl. But it seems pretty durable, although I haven't had it for more than a few months, so time will tell. The only issue with them, is that they are based in Poland, so the shipping fees are kinda high. Get a double sided one, it isn't much more than a single sided one.
