  1. The Hungering Darkness is from the same time as the Tyrants (that we know) but from what we've seen so far he seems as concerned about them as anyone else. He hid away while the Tyrants where sealed and the fact he has two neverborn helping him seems to indicate that he is not a tyrant - the neverborn are supposed to be the arch enemies with the Tyrants (then again Nytmare is NB too)

Killjoy just seems too - meh too be a tyrant. All the other Tyrants are Master level models and also the fact it's specifily stated as being a neverborn (and a nephilim) implies that it's not. My theory is that it might once have been a neverborn who sided with the Tyrants - when the Tyrants where sealed away Killjoy was punished for siding with the enemy.

  2. Reckoning is a great Neverborn scheme as every master can bring a crew to the table capable of dealing with the scheme. Liith, Pandora and Chompy Bit's dreamer all get a special mention. Lilith can either be great for isolating and taking down enemies with her broadsword and tangle shadows or she can control the board helping shut down the opponent's crew through transfixing gaze, wicked vines and strategic terrain placement. Pandora's loathing/self harm can take advantage of the fact your opponent's probably going to be bringing models with decent attacks and Misery is free damage without spending ap and is hard to get past - if they fail a wp duel in range of her they take damage and in a Pandora crew this will be happening a lot and Martyr can help deny your opponent kills. Dreamer has lord chompy bits and with  Restless Dreams you can be putting out an awful lot of damage. Collodi, Lucius and Zoraida can manipulate their crews and/or the opponents crew to increase your damage output and weaken the opposing crew's position. if you can move your opponents model out of range they have to waste ap to move them back into range - ap they'r probably prefer to spend hitting you. Also Fated with Collodi will really help out a puppet crew in this scheme. Lynch I can't say much more than what has already been said but once again he can deal with the scheme effectively. Also Wrath can lead the crossroads 7 which have plenty of debuffs to make the opponent's day miserable. Especially if you think you might be up against a melee heavy list. He also has an advantage that he's still new - people are not used to seeing him and playing against him.

Non master wise these models all lend themselves to the scheme:

Angel Eyes & Tuco (ranged damage is something Neverborn as a whole lack and can help pick off or weaken models that you want dead), Bad Juju (he can soak up a lot of damage, deal a fair bit and punishes your opponent for trying to complete the scheme and killing your swampfiends. He can also slow and paralyze models to reduce the damage they can put out) Kade (you will probably loose him but the important thing is how many VP he can score you before he goes down) Teddy and Beckoners (either to draw models into position for your damage doing models or to pull weakened friendly models out of danger)

  3. So I've loved the look of Tara for a while and I had an idea to theme some/all of the crew on the Skulduggery Pleasant books. My ideas so far are:

    Tara as Valkyrie Cain

    Karina as China Sorrows

A death marshal as Skulduggery Pleasant

A ronin as Tainith Low or maybe a converted Taelor so she has a sword instead of a hammer

A killjoy would fit rules wise for Billy Ray but would depend how the opponent feels about the proxy as they visually look nothing alike.

Any other malifaux players fans of the books who can offer ideas?

  4. Spirit host

    Kirai, limited

    Kirai gains the following ability:

Invoke the spirits: this card may use Ca actions and defence/willpower triggers from friendly buried models with the Spirit characteristic. These actions use the ca value and triggers from the buried model's card.

Kirai gains the following tactical actions:

    (1) Drawn into me: (Ca 7/TN 14/Range 12") Bury target friendly model with the spirit characteristic

    (0) From the ether: Unbury one friendly model with the spirit characteristic within 6" of Kirai

  5. The One With Da Plan - 2ss

    Gremlins, Limited, Zorraida

Schemer: All friendly models from the gremlins faction in :pulse6" receive +2 WP. During the upkeep phase you may place a scheme marker in base contact with one friendly gremlin model in LoS.

  6. Fate is cruel - 3ss

    Neverborn, Zorraida

Mocked by my own cards: Starting from turn 2, during every upkeep phase make a flip - Zoraida and all enemies within 12" receive the following condition based on the flipped card. (This card may be cheated)
    :mask Slow
    :tome Burning +1
    :crow Poisoned +1
    :ram Paralysed
Red Joker: Choose any suit, Zoraida does not suffer the condition
Black Joker: Zoraida and all other affected models take 1 damage. This damage cannot be reduced.

  7. Take away the harness and what are you?

    Limited upgrade, Kaeris

By foot - Kaeris wk becomes 4 and looses flight

Burning strength - all friendly models in :pulse6 gain a :+fate to all attack actions if they have burning.

Perhaps I am simply tired, but I feel like the meaning of this is a little muddled.  Is this saying if the attack causes burning?  Or the target is burning?  Or that the model attack is, itself, burning?  I am leaning towards the last option, but I feel it could be cleaned up as a sentence.

re worded it - how does it sound now?

  8. Sweet little children?

    Limited, Pandora

    Pandora gains the following abilities

Called by the box - all models hired into this crew with the Lost characteristic cost 1 less SS. During the upkeep stage of each turn any Lost models with LoS to Pandora may push 4".

Disturbing children - all friendly Lost models gain the following ability

Innocent face - all enemy models in :pulse5 suffer :-fate to WP duels.

  9. Forbidden Tomes

    Restrictions: Sonnia Crid, Limited

    Sonnia gains the following ability:
Runes of old Malifaux: Sonnia Crid gains a :tome to the duel total of all Ca actions.

Sonnia Crid gains the following attack action:
    (3) Witchfire (ca 8:ram/res: def/target 15:ram) deals 4/6/8 damage
:tome Chifron's fury: Target gains the burning +1 condition for each tome in the final duel total.
:tome:tome:ram From the flames: If the target has the burning condition, discard a card and sacrifice the damaged model. Summon a Fire Gamin in base contact with the model. The fire gamin takes 2 damage that cannot be reduced. The fire gamin activates immediately at the end of Sonnia Crid's activation.
