  1. Thanks for all the good advice , I did have my eye on Ryle and that Peacekeeper. Now those Riflemen and Lone Marshal just need to arrive and I can start playing.
  2. I can't believe I overlooked him on the list?! Thanks.
  3. I can find Ryle on google, seems he did exist once but I can't buy him anymore? He doesn't seem to be on the way, according to the pipeline of new models the next few months? What to do?
  4. Nurses still need that pesky LoS which they never have (when it comes to Lilith). I have to check out that Hans guy! Mindless Zombies could also be a plan.
  5. Thanks for the Lucius and crew pointers, can't wait to try him! I might not have been clear, I want to know what to do about Lilith "overall" not with Lucius specifically. I mostly play Nicodem. One of the problems with going around her or "staying out of range" is that she can simply move forward, put down the forest closer to me, and work from there. I don't see how anything but Austringers (which really DO seem awesome! ) can do anything about her since no one else can Cast of Shoot at her if they can't see her? Lucius does have that commanding presence but that would still take some lining up with a death marshall, to get that working. What can a guy like Nicodem do? Or Kaeris? We can't really get near or just run towards her to engage her and "keep her busy" because of how hard she is hitting. Damn you Lilith...
  6. I'm still new at Malifaux, have a lot of miniatures though, keep wanting to try new things. It seems a crew is a bit fragile if it only has shooting since a lot of models can get into melee without ever being in range of a shot. So here's the question, will this fairly shooty-non-melee crew stand a chance or should I include a counter attacking punch too? It also seems to me that Lucius is one of the weakest Masters out there, with no defensive skills of any kind and not a lot of wounds? What kind of role should he have since Melee is something he seems good at but he can't take a lot of beating? Here is the 50 SS: Lucius with a few upgrades Scribe Captain Dashel Guild Sergeant 3 Guild Riflemen Guild Guard Lone Marshal Too shooty and therefore too weak against fast moving hard hitters? I've played about 12 games so far and I've only seen a few things I think seem a bit out of balance in this game. One thing though, seems VERY unbalanced but perhaps I'm missing something (I hope so) and that something you might be able to point out for me? Lilith with Beckon Malifaux, Living Blade, and Wicked Mistress seems like a crazy point and click combination!?! She throws down a forest that nobody can see through, except her, when she wants to use Ca Tranfixing gaze to pull people into her forest, where they will first take some damage and become slow, and then she whacks them (some times for free) with a VERY powerful living blade. There doesn't seem to be any counter measure to this? If I'm within 12" of Lilith (which is quite a long threat range) she can pull me near and decapitate me. If I try to out maneuver her, she can simply move and throw the forest in a new location. Lilith at the center of the table, behind her magic forest is quite a big area I have to avoid. I can't shoot her, I can't charge her, I can't target her with Ca actions... what can I do?
  7. I chose different pictures and it looked fine, even on the full open sheet they all looked fine. Then I wanted to print, and the print preview showed all pictures as pure black... EDIT: I got it to work (sort of) with normal explorer.
  8. I just tried with 1 picture for 5 counters and then I realized they were black on the sheet although the "sample marker" looked fine. It's 232 KB and called The Lone Marshal 1
  9. What am I doing wrong when the left hand side counter has a fine little Lone Marshal in it but on the sheet on the right, all of them are just black where the picture should be?
  10. Lilith is pure cheat, I hate her! "I'm gonna put my magical LoS blocking forest down here in front of me, now I cast pulling spells on you because I can see YOU through the forest, and when I pull you near enough, I kill you and you can't do anything about it because you can't see me!" But apart from reminding me of her, thanks for the clear-up.
  11. Guild Lawyers have a Ca action called Special Damages which gives the target a permanent condition: Fees +1 Since conditions with +X are able to stack according to the rule book, does that mean I can have 2 Lawyers give the enemy Master this condition 4 times in one turn (on a good and lucky day) and that Master will then take 4 damage each time he damages another model with an attack? Also, if someone has a way of removing a condition (witchling stalker for instance), will that remove a +1 at a time, or the entire condition in one go?
  12. Ah, so actually just 2.5" + 2" in this case, to make it over the wall. Thanks.
  13. Hi there. I'm building a 36" x 36" graveyard (yes it will be about as awesome as your imagining right now, or close!). This means lots of grave stones which will act as soft cover area terrain (they are on magnets, to act kind of like loose trees, in case you want your model right on top of a stone.) Also there are walls, and here is the tricky part where I'm having doubts: The walls are "solid brick" and 1.25 inches tall, here's a photo to give you an idea. Walls are fairly straight forward, meaning these are Ht 1 solid, hard cover, and climbable. Ht 2 and higher can see over the wall but can a Ht 1 model SEE and be SEEN by a Ht 2 (or higher) who perhaps is trying to shoot over the wall? The climbable part: A small based model is b2b with the wall wants to climb over and stand b2b on the other side: Would it cost 2.5" to climb the wall (double the height) + 2" (horizontal distance his base is moving when placed on the other side of the wall) for a total of 5.5" or is the climb actually both up and down, meaning he climbs up (2.5") then down on the other side (2.5") and +2" for the horizontal movement (total of 7") or would you not count the horizontal movement at all even though he is moving "forward" 2" in the process? Unimpeeded models still have to spend the extra inches climbing stuff, right?
  14. Great, thanks. Oh, two more popped up, you will tire of me eventually: If a model has on Ml attacks will it then have this bonus on disengaging strikes? Also, if Leveticus is targeted by a disengaging strike that does not succeed and Leveticus triggers his Df "Unmade" to damage the attacker, will the attacker take damage or is this damage cancelled because no triggers are allowed? It says a disengaging strike can't declare triggers, but can the defender still do so or does it only apply to the model attacking?
  15. If my Gunsmith is standing 1" from some barrels and want to shoot over the barrels at some (evil) wicked doll who is out in the open, does that doll gain soft/hard cover? What if the Gunsmith is 4" away from the barrels, and the wicked doll is too? (But the barrels are between them) Also, Kaeris ignores terrain when she moves I assume that means she takes damage like everyone else if she activates in hazardous terrain?
  16. Aaah okay the icon is more important than if it's Ca or Sh. That makes sense. Thanks guys. Oh, another question, in the same game I had a Gunsmith, who can get ++flips in all duels against burning targets. "All Duels" is that also damage flip, or only the Sh attack vs Df "duel"?
  17. I was told that when you shoot (pistol icon) into cover, it would give you a -flip on to hit (soft cover) and -flip on both to hit and damage with hard cover. Other models don't count as cover, only the terrain? I was also convinced that Ca actions didn't get this penaly and could even pick out a guy who was engaged without randomizing, then I read Kaeris "Flaming Halo" Ca attack which ends with "This attack ignores cover". So now... the confusion is total. When do models get cover from Ca actions and what about randomizing in a swirling melee? Can anyone take me through it? As a bonus I can tell you about today's game where a stitched together uses that weird trick and puts 7 damage on Kaeris who has 5 wounds left. I damage prevent and flip the red joker, (which meant she died in turn 3 instead of turn 2) and the following turn Willy throws a red joker stick of dynamite in Teddy's face. Victory!
  18. I've only played about 10 games, I find that hidden schemes are some times what wins the game but it's all a question of what schemes and what crews. I've played ONE game where one of us got the full 10 points so I'm never too concerned with the amount I can achieve in theory. I'd rather have the opportunity of 6 "easy" points that 10 impossible ones, when we begin. I revealed "Deliver a Message" in one game, simply because I hoped his gun crazy anti-ressurectionists Master would then hang back out of fear of the message. he did, and I never got that scheme but won the game because his Master didn't do much, and he was by far the top dog of that game. I always look at who I'm up against, remember that a decoy placed scheme marker can make your opponent think you have a certain scheme while you have something else.
  19. Collodi can use Pull the Strings, with the Trigger "My Bidding". The victim performs a (1) action controlled by Collodi. Can this action be a Wk action or does it have to be attack or tactical?
  20. BTW he killed off some cheap thing to start summoning 3 spiders on turn 1. Electric creation or something?
  21. Still, each spider gives the opponent a Df 6 enemy that give -1 Df to all in b2b contact, and apart from the summoning turn, it can make interactions. It also has armor 1, to help it further. I think the worst part is that you can make 3 from ONE scrap marker and each spider yields a new scrap marker. You can also heal them all quite easily. Even without the interact option, all those extra models are getting in the way, blocking, herassing etc.
  22. Can't see a rules thread, so here goes: Poison happens at upkeep step and can't be reduced, it says. What about catalyst and induction (Sebastian/ress.) can this poison damage be reduced by armor, since it's not happening in the upkeep step, or is poison always non-reducable? Had 2 games today (taking my tally to an impressive 6!) and there will probably be asking about more, unless this thread gets deleted because there is another for rules questions.
  23. Thanks for the input, guys, I appreciate it. Makes sense, and I DID notice how I sometimes didn't have card and/or corpses to summon and when I did, my attacks were left with no high cards to help them, good point.
