Austringers have a high sh attack that doesn't need LoS, so he can shoot but not be shot at.  He can push models and make them drop scheme markers if available.  Just very useful model

I also like the trigger that makes the defender to discard two cards. It is useful to waste your opponent's resources.

Here's my March entry. She's one of my favorite models and I gave a lot of thought to basing her in a way that I felt was dynamic and fun. I am going to paint her with the street lamp on so her back half will be fully lit and her front half will be in some degree of shadow. I want her wings to resemble bat wing membranes with a light held behind them. Lofty goals considering my rudimentary painting skills ... I expect several restarts will be necessary. If anyone has suggestions on color pallets and painting techniques to achieve my goals I would love to hear them!

What about the Valedictorian? Any progress on this one? :) I'm really curious about how it turned out.

Please forgive my ignorance, I typically just lurk here, but is there a sort-of cap to the size/amount of pictures that applies to the thread? I am trying to post a pic, but it is advising that I can only upload files of very small size this time. Thanks!

Maybe you're having the same problem I had. Several recommended me to use Photobucket:

You upload a picture to the website and then they give you a link you can copy and paste here. This allows you not to depend on the restrictions of this excellent and awesome forum :)

thx. the blood is done very easy:

mix 50:50 tamiya clear red : black wash (http://www.shop.battlefield-berlin.de/index.php/katalog/artikelinfo/23911-1-show-tamiya_clear_x-27_rot.html

for the darker blood. Pure clear red for the normal blood.

"splatter-effect": dip a big brush into clear red and blow the colour directly on the mini.

    Hey Luchs,

I actually asked because we cannot find Tamiya x27 in Chile and I was wondering if there is a good alternative. I do have a pot of GW Blood for the Blood God. What is your opinion about the GW tech paint compared to Tamiya? Do you guys have any other idea on how to paint blood? I saw many tutorials on Tamiya x27 on the web. I would love getting similar effects.

That's a really hard choice! I love so many of them, especially off the self-titled album. I'm a big fan of Untouched, Hook Me Up, Revenge is Sweeter (Than You Ever Were), Cruel, Born Bob Dylan, Cold, Did You Miss Me (I'm a Veronica), If You Love Someone, and Let Me Out.

I dont know the group at all. That's why I asked.

  6. Thank you all for your answers.

Now that we are two days from the Easter sale, I was wondering if soulstone miners would be great in a Hoffman crew. With The Enemy Down Below, a soulstone miner can get pretty far away at the end of turn 1. I personnaly dont play Hoffman, but I might at some point. What do you think about this idea?

  7. Scheme runners: what do you guys use?

I've played my first games trying to avoid marker-related schemes and when I exceptionally needed a minion to drop a marker I've relied on austringers only. This month, the guild hounds should come out and I was wondering if they would be a good purchase in a scheme-running context, but, this afternoon, I was looking at the orderlies sitting on my table and thought they are not that bad: they have the same Wk, they do not suffer from Pack mentality and actually cost less than a pair of hounds.

So, what are your preferences? What do you typically use as scheme runners? And, does your choice for scheme runners depend on the master you're playing?

  8. Hi,

We are a group of players based in Santiago, Chile, and we would like to meet new players in the area. If anybody is interested in joining us for some games, it would be great. We are also open to show the game to new players.

I hope this message will find somebody well!

  9. Hey,

We're a group of new players in Santiago and we've recently entered a dispute over some simple rules of the game. It has to do with the trigger someone chooses to announce during an attack when there is more than one flip. My understanding is that, in case of :+fate flips, one can choose any of the flipped cards to be the active card (page 27 of the book). Once this card is chosen, all the other flipped cards are discarded. The value of the active card will be used to see if the attack roll is passed. However, when it comes to announce a trigger, the discarded cards cannot be used to announce a trigger since they have already been discarded. Am I right?

For example, consider the following situation with :+fate:+fate. The player flips 7:ram, 8:crow and 9:tome. Suppose the player chooses the 9:tome to be the active card. The 9 will used to determine success of the attack (together with the appropriate characteristic). Then, when the player has to decide which trigger to announce, he cannot choose the :ram of the 7:ram he flipped because this card has been discarded. The :ram could be announced through soulstone use or other abilities of course, but not through the 7:ram he flipped. Is this a correct interpretation of the rules?

    Thanks

The two player starter set has 4 guild models (and 4 neverborn), 2 malifaux decks, 2 tape measures plus a booklet that introduces the different game mechanics to you slowly over the course of a few mini games.

I wouldnt say that the starter set is compulsory. The cards in the generalist upgrade deck are also described in the rule book and the extension book, but it makes things way easier if you have the deck.
