  1. I've been having a lot of fun and success with the Levi Rider list (Hoodgepodge Effigy, Hooded Rider, Pale Rider, Dead Rider) + Midnight Stalker.

Stalker is usually in the opponents half of the board top of turn 2, putting a lot of pressure on. If the opponent focuses on him, it lets the riders survive long enough to be dangerous, and if not then the Stalker will win games more often than not from the opponents back field, regardless of what the riders do.

Hrmmm, well you might have gotten a bad one. The three I just pulled all are in good shape and go together with minimum fuss. Exacto knife took off anything that was a mold line with a little bit of patience.

I will say this, clean it up (as in wash it, but you should do that regardless) before gluing and painting. Release agents, etc.

Maybe I'm just not used to cutting seams off with a knife anymore, but I'm finding that really difficult with the slightly rubbery plastic. I'm going to have another go tonight, so maybe I'll have more luck.

I will say that it does look like, once I get it cleaned up, it'll go together nicely. And thanks for being so interactive on here - it's really appreciated. :)

New stuff - 17 pieces - which might sound like a lot, but they go together a dream, and cleanup - minimal.

I hesitate to be a dissenting voice - because normally I really love Wyrd minis and the quality of your work - but my Alt Laz has some pretty bad seams in large and not easy to clean places. Down the middle of a line of rivets for example. And the slightly rubbery material is making it a real pain to clean up. To the point I took it out of the bag, separated it from the sprue, cleaned 2-3 pieces, then got frustrated and put it all back in the bag...

Maybe I just got a bad cast or something, but if you have any tips on how to clean him up quickly and easily I'm all ears. As it is, I'm trying to very gently carve the mold lines out, because scraping or filing doesn't seem to work at all. But that's a long process and I often worry that I'm making more of a mess than I'm cleaning up with this material. :(

Or maybe I'm just too spoilt by the quality of your hard plastics and how easy they are to clean up... also entirely possible.

I suspect that this is also an experiment to test quality and reception of potential future products as it might be more cost effective to use metal for models that are not going to be sold en-masse.

That is what worries me. As much as I want the cool alt Viks, I don't want to be sending Wyrd a message that I'm ok with metal models for even more releases. Having got used to Wyrd hard plastics, I dread going back to the pain of cleaning, assembling and transporting metal minis...

Honestly, if the choice is between metal or paying a bit more (up to 50% more per mini) for hard plastic I'll choose hard plastic every time.

Things are delayed, not that it's anyone's business, but due to the fact that customs has their arms elbow deep in the boat and containers which it carried. Wish it was otherwise, but those folks have a job to do and nothing we say is going to rush them.

For a minute there, I thought you were talking about TOS and got excited that things had left the factory... then I realised the customs delay was probably in reference to the Undying box and delayed Malifaux minis. Oh well, back to being (somewhat) patient. :)

I'm fairly certain that the plastic used for this is the same as the other preassembled stuff (Aionus, Winter Witch, Tortoise and Hare) so it should take rattle can primer just fine.  It might not take plastic cement at all (not sure there) but he's likely already put together, so that's fine.

    It isn't, and he isn't. :)

Mine arrived today, and he comes in pieces, a lot of which are still on sprue. I seems most similar to standard Wyrd hard plastic, but perhaps a little softer (though it definitely doesn't have the "rubbery" texture of the preassembled minis) and based on previous comments I assume it is not. Will try plastic cement on some of the sprue, but I'm guessing it'll probably need superglue.

  7. There have been recent Monday previews from Above the Law (guild book), just before Christmas I believe. While a release date hasn't been announced yet, it should be coming soon. After that, the only factions not covered will be Neverborn and Ten Thunders, so hopefully we'll see books for them sooner rather than later.

There have also been recent adventures released - Jurassic Faux, plus A Stitch in Time and Fire in the Sky (both a compilation of previous Worldwide Events), and the the Obsidian Gate has been announced with the first Act releasing next week (Worldwide Event for this year, tied to The Other Side). Northern Sedition (the sequel to the Northern Aggression campaign) has also been announced.

And on top of all that, there is usually a free adventure in each bi-monthly issue of the Wyrd Chronicles.

The game is still very much alive and being supported - frankly, it's better supported than a lot of games released by bigger companies. :)

Points are scored for first time a model is reduced below half wounds, when they are first killed, sacrificed or reduced to 0 wounds and for if not on the board at the end of the game. Levi can never be killed or sacrificed as when he is he is buried instead. Your opponent can score 3 points but has to reduce him below half wounds and to 0 wounds then not have him on the board at the end

Are you sure about that? Because he still has to be killed or sacrificed before he can become "not killed or sacrificed" and buried instead. I think this is the same situation as the infinite Huggy thing that was floating around after the release of Broken Promises, and that was basically ruled as: you have to first be killed to be "not killed".

Nevermind, I'm confused. The ruling was actually the other way around:

    Quote

If Hungering Darkness has the Death Contract Upgrade and Lynch has the Rising Sun Upgrade, does Death Contract come into effect before the Hungering Darkness is no longer killed from the Eternal Darkness Ability?

    • No. As the Hungering Darkness is not killed, the Death Contract clause does not come into effect.

So it seems this is correct - Leveticus is never killed / sacrificed... Hmmm... :)

PS: As a new-ish Leveticus player, I also enjoyed the episode a lot. Thanks guys!

Yeah, in due time I'm sure that'll happen. Especially since I went ahead and ordered an old school metal Lucius to go along with the boosters (to have an extra master, since Brass Monkey's PDF had a card for him)..  Malifaux will happen for sure. Just as soon as my bank accounts heal a bit from this puppet binge

Wait, the Puppet Wars metal Lucius, or the Malifaux one? If the PW one, where did you get it from??? I've been trying to score one for a long time now... :)
