  14. Damnit I wish I wasn't planning a move on January 2nd. Otherwise I would be all for putting some money into this... I want those babies and the teddy.
  15. Oh I get that... might have just been a bad matchup, but the denial combo plus that pretty much just dominated a melee heavy list. I wanted to ensure that the interpretation of these rules were correct. The combos with everything is just feeling exceptionally nasty.
  16. Came into a couple questions while playing Rasputina last night against against good friend. A few issues came up as well against my friend feeling a little cheated or at least like it shouldn't have happened that way. Question: Can I use the wendigo's tactical action to put a second set of ice pillars down? It is a (1) Ca action. If I can, does this second set of pillars get removed when Rasputina activates again or the wendigo? We played it as he could, as well against it was removed when the wendigo activated next. Question: Freeze Over states that the target model and against non - leader models in base contact (I don't have the card with me here but that's how I remember reading it) gain paralyze. I targeted The Judge. Is against henchmen a leader model if under a master? Second, if the leader model is targeted can it get paralyzed? The way we played it: the non leader statement applied to models in base contact with the target but not the target itself. Thus I paralyzed his 10 point henchman, The Judge. Question: I charged the paralyzed judge with my wendigo. First action was Devour targeting The Judge. I won the opposing duel by 2 and satisfying the TN. Does the judge get removed from play as Devour states to sacrifice target model if paralyzed or ht 1? This is where the combo just felt overpowered and devastating as a 3 point model killed a 10 point henchman with one action point. Kinda left him with a bad taste in his mouth as he couldn't kill anything (Sub Zero upgrade plus 2 sets of pillars blocking charges). Did I play this right or did I interpret a rule incorrectly to my advantage?
  17. Unfortunately, I dont know where to put this so please move it if its in the wrong spot. I played 1.5 a fair bit, but never locally, and have only had the opportunity to play a couple games in 2nd ed. However my local store just agreed to start stocking Malifaux and so I decided it's time to start promoting it closer to home and try to build a local Malifaux community. I was hoping to get some input on how to do this. My current thought is to make myself available and publicize on fb that demos are available this and the forthcoming Saturdays as thats the day that sees alot foot traffic (the store runs fantasy, 40k, warmachine, and flames tournaments on saturdays). To quicken things up and rather than letting a demo player randomly get a strategy or scheme thats not good for them, I figured i would assign them to try to keep things a bit more fair. Does this work? Are there any specific masters that work best for demo games? I was leaning towards Rasputina vs. Lilith. I'd like to keep it neverborn vs. Arcanist if possible as those are the two factions I currently collect. Finally, I plan on running the following for demos. Is there anything you guys would change? Corner Deployment Turf War Arcanists Schemes - Protect Territory and Frame for Murder Rasputina -Cold Nights -Sub Zero Ice Golem -Imbued Protection Wendigo Ice Gamin x3 Total cache: 4 Neverborn Schemes: Breakthrough, Deliver a Message Lilith -Living Blade -Wicked Mistress Mature Nephilim -Obsidum Talons Terror Tot x3 Total Cache: 7
  18. Hello all. Im stoupe. Im from the South Jersey area and I started playing Malifaux about a year ago. Ive only got about 10 games in that time though, so I am still semi new I have got about 35 points of each of the big 3 arcanist masters and 50 points with the dreamer, but I sucked with him. I recently picked up the lilith box and am waiting a few months before grabbing pandora too. Mostly the reason I havent gotten games in is that my local area didnt carry it. However, the local shop finally agreed with the new edition and now im going all out. I love the line and hope to be a henchman for them and run demos (the reason I bought Lilith). Ive read 2E but havent played yet. I'll likely get to it this month though! My plan is to start painting Lilith and repaint Rasputinas starter sets once im done preparing for the Colonial GT (just need to do my display board). Then sponsor a Malifaux Monday or Wed for intro nights. I picked Lilith and Rasputina because they looked easiest to learn and do demos with. Are there any tips you guys can give me for any of these goals? Id love to watch some battle reports if any know of great channels since 2nd Ed, I'd love to watch.
